@winrx You are a fool for merely suggesting such an opinion, Pinchas Zuckerman happens to be an accomplished and succesful violinist, while you most likely have failed and jealousy rides within you.
@winrx What an extraordinarily negative comment. He is unusually serious and involved here. I am sure Vivaldi would have been impressed. The piece requires quite a deal of virtuosity but Zukerman is quite restrained here.
Love this one , thanks for posting. But correct me if I am wrong, was he getting faster at the beginning? Am not criticizing the great Zukerman , just wondering.

I'm a student too. You should look into their live rush program, You can get tickets the the NAC for 11 dollars CAD, when you register for a student live rush card. The only catch is that tickets are kinda scarce because you can only buy them after 10:00 AM the day before the performance, but I've gotten a few inexpensive tickets, I'm going on Thursday to see Rachmaninoff's second piano concerto! a master piece! maybe just stop by the box office thats where I got my card.
nordic sibelius. nicola bendetti. I am definitely going. I found for $25 but hoping to find something cheaper. ill drop by tomorrow to get the student rush card.. i cant miss this time!! are you going??
I noticed that too, It looked like her shoulder and neck were really sore, Pinchas conducted really well too, I heard hes never conducted that piece before. I was very pleased with it.
@Srouble hi. are you going to schubert 9 tonight? Im planning to go tomorrow. i think the conductor is a good one.. right now listening the piece on youtube. pretty good!
i know...it is absolutely amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! i have cd and i think it's just "fairless",rarely music interpretation go so far in keeping the nature sounds!!
I love this Guy. Especially when He and Itzhak Perlman get together. I always need to have a hanky closeby. I cant stop the tears. When I listen to Pinchas and Itzhak, I know that there is a God.
Vivaldi puts all the squeeky violins of the Romantic era to shame, I'm afraid to say. He captured the true beauty of the baroque without all the added pomp from harpsichords and trumpets.
I am one of yours, people; i'm a Jew, please accept me. And i know how to play !

Zukerman is not just the "best" violinist, but also he is the most "interesting" violinist and violist...

This is just dreadful vulgar playing - I guess there will be some who appreciate his macho hacking away at the fiddle...

1742 "Duskin" Guarneri del gesu. It's the instrument he's been playing since the early 80's maybe even in the 70's.

@smenjare The other way round! He is a violinist who occasionally plays the viola, like many others, Kennedy, OIstrakh, Menuhin, Suk, etc.
