  • I have seen your direction with great pleasure. But it has turned out so, that making the screen of Sophocles you have made Anouilh. It is pure theater of the absurd: relative background, heads... The tragedy turns to a farce, the tragedy becomes ridiculous. But there is the spice of your direction in it. It looks fairer than carefully verified theatrical performances in which soul disappears behind pathos. How Albert Camus said: “The absurd is the essential concept and the first truth”.

  • wait,...it's ismene who's afraid...not antigone...haha,it's still funny...never mind...don't reply...

  • Sorry to go against your "no reply" wishes, but what you described is as it is in the movie. Ismene is afraid and Antigone is not. The movie follows pretty closely to the story.

  • ok,u know what? i just now watched the beginning again, and i realized that the video was right;i was looking at the subtitles, and i apparantly did not see the semi colons,haha...must've been the coloring...anyways,thanks for pointing that out, happy holidays.

  • Great! I'm a H.S. English teacher, and I'm using this as a summary after we read the play.

  • Thanks for making this! I hardly understood the play at all until I watched this video. Very good interpretation. Snape was a perfect Creon xD

  • Cool! You used Conker music! And some stuff from Danny Elfman. Edward Scissorhands? That is a pretty good short. The backgrounds and animation, though simple drawings in paint, went very well with the film. d: Like that shadow the messenger made and Oedipus on horseback. That's cool.
