  • How did u upload it on youtube cuz i recorded a vid and wanted to upload on youtube but it says erorr

  • good idea

  • the format AVCHD lite is a real pain to work with in windows aAVCHD Normal is not bad but when you see lite on the end beware most editing software won't touch it.

  • What a sweet and gorgeous cat, petted by a sweet and gorgeous young woman:)

  • Cute! i mean that girl :)

  • can you zoom while recording?

  • @coMpLekS1 Yes, you can.

  • is too good quality of video recording and the blue light steak is good

  • whats the difference with the tz7, tz8 and tz10?

  • has anyone used the video at a concert with loud sound? how is the sound?

  • @fakingfrench many Muse fans have already found this camera takes super vids and Muse gigs are loud. There are many vids in Ytube.

  • @fakingfrench Type/search this on youtube... U2 - Where The Streets have No Name Live at Sheffield 20th August 2009

  • just brought the panasonic g2, with nearly a hour video with a 12 g card, pictures are stunning.

  • I bet you were getting jealous when the girl was playing with the cat and was tempted to knock it off the bridge lol

  • pretty girl!

also the video quality looks great ;)

  • Thanks for taking the time to post the video. I have been considering getting this camera solely for the video capability as I use a Nikon DSLR for stills. The quality is what I've been looking for. Your vide was a great help. Thanks again.

  • thats one dirty pussy

  • Hi.............Am I mistaken, or does this camera put out as good if not better quality than my panasonic ag dvc20p camera??

I dont get this much color saturation from my vids, and I paid 1600 last year for the pro camera........Also, mine is tape, and in order to upload to You Tube I need to convert code to wmv.....How can I do this? Does that come with software? I also use Windows Movie Maker editing software....tks.....Tim.

  • how did u turn the video frame like that though? it's usually sideways on the camera and then youtube messes it up. help please? O'.O

  • what a lovely pussy. Cat is nice too.

  • HUAHUAUHUAHUAUHUAHUAU

  • two pussies ^^

  • Please can someone out there can teach me how to download the video. Bought the camera lately but don't know how to do it yet, I am not hi-tech, my computer is MacBook. Downloading pictures is ok. I can put them in iphoto but nothing for video. H E L P

  • There are some nice Youtube videos on how to download HD videos on a Mac using Final Cut Pro. If you don't have it, you can change the extension to mpeg and save it again as a DV file. You'll need Quicktime Pro for this. It's worth the $25 at Apple. Then you can edit in iMovie or any other Apple Video Editor. It's really simple, just need a little homework. Believe me it's a million times easier on a Mac then on a PC.

  • The vid quality was bleeding at some points.. is there any way to minimize or remove this altogether?

  • she is cool

  • i bet the kitty wants another video for youtube so they scratch her tummy again ^^

  • what a very friendly cat.

  • Wow who was that beautiful lady in the beginning? :o Btw the camera really DOES perform WELL under darkness. I've got it since its early days and I can't be more happy with it.

  • this camera looks SWEET!!! i'm probably gonna ask for it for my birthday!

  • o para navidad

  • How did you get this to be widescreen? I tried filming with my new panasonic tz7 and it didn't turn out nearly as good as this. somebody tell me what I'm doing wrong? my quality looks also much worse than this.

-please answer I'd really appreciate your help!

  • @PhobosxDeimos iMovie or Windows Live Movie Maker will do the trick

  • was listening to that song, don't tell me cuz it hurts by no doubt and it fits perfectly with 1:17-1:23 when it pans up on the girl. i wan't one of these things bad

  • Thank you, buskonig and Had0kenUK! It worked!!

  • oh it's my girl

  • How did you upload in HD to youtube? I just purchased this camera, and when I use the packaged software to do the upload in AVCHD, it comes out in non-HD format. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.

  • don't use the software, you can uploading directly avchd video on youtube

  • When you upload into Youtube, it comes out standard bad quality for about 1 hour, after an hour or so, it will switch to HD. Just need to give it time.

  • I'm getting my zs3 from Amazon by the 25th, can't wait!

  • Yes... rub that pussy.

  • Dirty, dirty mind!

  • the video quality is good but the slowdowns in the the video recording leads me to the idee that this camera si no match for a dedicated HD video camera.

I would of buy it right now if it wasnt for those slowdowns.

  • @realclocky haha! yes of course. but a dedicated video camera is no match for a dedicated still camera!

  • ic how do u change the bitrate settings?

  • If you use AVCHD Lite to record your videos you're already recording in 720p which is the highest resolution on this camera. You can then set the quality to L, H or SH with SH being the highest bitrate setting at 17 mbps.

  • to use SH setting you will need a high speed SD CARD? will sandisk extreme II do at a rate of 15mb/s or will i need the extreme III at 30mb/s?

  • @Cade78 Do I have to convert from AVCHD in order to make a movie in Windows Movie Maker? I've tried to convert with iOrgSoft converter and the quality is terrible.

    Thanks.

  • what format are you recording at....i just got this camera and everything i record doesnt look clear at all.....

  • The videos were recorded in AVCHD Lite format. Probably in the highest bitrate setting, I'm not sure because I didn't record the videos.

  • that girl is beautyful !

  • it's that zoom digital crap or it is optical?

  • That's real optical zoom baby! Wouldn't you think that 12x DIGITAL zoom would look far more worse then what you see here? :)

  • thanks for uploading the videos, i watched them 3 weeks ago and they were part of the cause i bought this camera. i am very glad with it. but , how did you join or merge this two videos in one ? without losing quality definition? which program do you use to do that? for example, i downloaded sony vegas 9, and you can join videos .m2ts (avchd), but when it renderizes them it does it in a different file, like .avi, .mpg, etc... and quality image fall down...

    thanks

  • I first converted the original MTS files to high quality WMV files with TMPGEnc 4.0 XPress and then edited them in Adobe Premiere CS3. I saved the edited file again as high quality WMV and uploaded that to YouTube. In CS4 you can import and edit MTS files natively so no more need for converting first. I have no experience with Vegas so I can't help you there :( Just make sure when you save the video (in whatever format) the video bitrate is at least 4000 to keep good quality. Good luck!

  • thanks very much, i will try those software, and work with WMV files, but also i will try CS4, and see how it works...

  • Thanks for these compilations.

Seems the shooters to great extense have avoided zooming

(or you choose not to include those parts).

I still believe the TZ7 have the severe focus problems during zooming

    that most reviews notice.

Makes it a poor substitute as a videocam. - - Maybe a videocam would be the best choice as a videocam ?

( Some of them take 'decent' still photos you know ... )

  • Watch the cameralabs test about this piece if you already haven't done so. The reviewer states that the continous auto focus is responsible for less sharp videos. I'll see for myself when I try it on monday at my local retailer. Ciao!

  • You have to playback your test clips on a big screen (at least a computer) to be able to see the focusing defects while filming objects at changing distance.

I noticed it's hard to discover those temporary off-focus moments just watching the otherwise good screen.

Especially if you intend just a brief hands-on!

Also, zoom is VERY slow and locked in speed.

    I repeat:

    - - Maybe a videocam would be the best choice as a videocam ?

( Some of them take 'decent' still photos you know ... )

  • This compact makes very decent videos, I watched them on a 22" screen and the off-focus was acceptable (when caf off). Anyway I am looking for a compact camera with the ability to make videos. Well, the TZ7 does this job (at least for me).

Going to test it, but from what I have seen, it suits my needs just perfect. If only the batteries weren't so expensive. Panasonics price policy seems to be a PitA.

  • So why don't you buy third-party batteries then? Ebay is full of them and they are very cheap (around 15 US Dollars). From what I have read they are as good as the original ones. I will try one out myself when I receive my TZ7/ZS3 from Hong Kong.

  • @TomtenT yes, and a digicam would be the best choice as a digicam. some of them take 'decent' videos you know.

  • its really very clear video,

and this video is really great and the motion is smooth, unlike alot of point and shoot HD camera, the motion is not smooth

  • dodgy and jerky

  • Is my youtube fucked or is the video running at like 5fps?

  • yeah, there's definitely something wrong with the video.. Same here..

  • Your computer just can't run hdvideo's

  • It can...I use my laptop to watch Blu-rays and other hd movies. My internet connection must have been slow at that time because its been fine since.

  • ok then.

  • @daantjede12e yes you're right. it's got to be their pc's.

  • Do the videos work with Movie Maker?

  • No, Movie Maker can only handle WMV files. Or you must convert the MTS files of the TZ7 to WMV first but still then... I don't think Movie Maker can handle HD videos.

  • thanks for the info. I was thinking of buying a Lumix. I have got a Kodak Zi6 which comes with its own editing software which has its limitations.

  • Moviemaker on Vista and Win7 is HD-ready. XP version of moviemaker is not HD. Both Youtube and Vimeo accept MTS files. When you go to select the file to upload, type *.* as the filenamer then hit enter to refresh the file list. Then you can select your MTS file and upload it.

  • dw man u can still download a software like movie maker n it will b compatible with HD videos i am goin to get 1 soon

  • its a shame AVCHD compression makes everything in movement blury, the images arent fluide and 25mbs will not help when panasonic top of the line goes to 100mps with perfectly fluid pictures.. i'm not an expert, its just what my eyes see... beautiful pictures thou on still pictures... best i'v seen ever on a camera like that!!!!!!

  • how is the sound quality on this camera?

  • It's great, comparable with the sound quality of a camcorder.

  • That poor mingy cat has ringworm.....and now so does she. lol!

  • I just received my TZ7 a couple of weeks ago and after uploading a video clip to YouTube notice dthat it is only in standard definition. I though YouTube would automatically know it was a HD clip, but doesn't seem to be the case, any tips on how to get HD Clips uploaded, easy ones pls, not too good at techie stuff!

  • isit me or is that cat really chubby

  • the video quality is really superb when it is viewed in the HD mode on the you-tube screen. but please advise whether the movie quality in HD mode as seen on you-tube via the computer is the original clip and in AVCHD 720 60/30 frames??(same) as that taken by the DC?? i'am thinking of buying it but would like to make sure the quality of movie is really in HD quality

  • nice camera

    too expensive

    nice video

going to buy a Flip UltraHD

  • the only big downer to the flip is that it has REALLY bad image stabilization issues, and shaky video is annoying to watch

  • yeah you are right. I have one and it is good, not great. I would buy another one if it had 60fps with image stabilization. Hey I do not want to take my camera back,so how does this sound. I bought a 2 year warranty on the flip UltraHD. When the two years are almost up can i "beat it up" a little and get that years generation flipUltra???

  • really depends on the company, because sometimes they'll still have some of your model lying around and ship you a new one of those. then again two years is a long time and you'll probably wanna check out all the other stuff on the market before you buy again

  • When I get the old well i guess new ultraHD after the two year warranty is up, I will sell it on ebay for $100.

I did not understand this part??? "then again two years is a long time and you'll probably wanna check out all the other stuff on the market before you buy again"

  • Nice sample videos.

You and your viewers should visit the smart pod channel to check out a cool camera and video mount accessory that works well with the Lumix as well as any camera or video recorder. Please check it out.

Also, we are looking for product reviewers, so please consider it. Thanks.

  • hey man, i am haveing trouble choosing between a Lumix DMC-T27, Canon SX200, and a Canon Powershoot SD990 IS. Do you might have a clue which one would be the best to get......

  • i highly recommend Lumix TZ7 awesome.juz bought it 2weeks ago

  • its tough because i have asked many people and they say different things about the cameras and usually want the one that the person I asked before doesnt want

  • Lumix

  • everyone says different things

  • amazing camera

    although

    WAYY too expensive

  • Been researching this model for a week, just as I was about to get a TZ5. Glad I waited. Impressive camera! In these samples, the wind howl is annoying, and read elsewhere that this camera helps eliminate this howling. Perhaps this camera was an earlier model. Unless something better pops up in the next few weeks, I'm springing for one. No deals yet on it...about $399 US.

  • Thank you so much for posting this!

Are you content with the audio too? I'm considering getting one for music videos ...

  • amazing!!

  • do you get the cat and the girl with the camera? Or do you get all the colourful party stuff????

  • i like that pussy cat.

  • how long is the battery life, i heared about 300 pictures, but this cam is made for recording, so how long can u record with one charge and with the light switched on?

and what kind of memory card does it supports, could i use my 16gb sd card is is this card to big for the cam?

and how long can i record with 16gb?

how big is a video when i record straight untill the battery dies?

  • Battery should last for about 60 - 90 minutes with continuous recording and using the zoom very little. Which light do you mean?

The TZ7 supports SD cards up to 32GB. With high AVCHD quality (17mbps) you can record up to about 2 hours on a 16GB card. With medium quality (13mbps) you can record up to about 2 hours and 40 minutes on a 16GB card.

  • The camera supports anything up to a 32GB card. Make sure if you are recording high def that you buy a card with at least 10MB per second write speed. I was safe and went with a 20GB write speed. So far.. there doesnt seem to be an issue with the battery life. It seems to last as long as my other cameras. I have not tested to see how long you can record on one charge though

  • ty :)

because i wil go to africa, make a safari soon and so i need a cam with very good recording quality whoes battery should last a veeeery long time, bevause i want to record much ;)

  • I would say if your going on a safari and plan on recording a lot.... you should buy some extra batteries. For sure you aint getting 8 -10 hrs out of one battery... my guess is closer to 1-2 hrs.

  • ok, ty for answering :)

  • I bought this model but took it back Stills super but couldnt see the HD video on my pc Was i doing something wrong ?Also the battery soon dropped .... I was not so impressed by that either Info appreciated .. Oh yes am English . live in Berlin NO english booklet with Panasonic bought here AWFUL So help if you can For 440 euro I expect better

  • I had the same issue with uploads to my computer. The software bombed and wont reload. I worked around it by opening the files with VLC media player. But eventually I am going to have to get the software to work.

  • Use Media Player Classic and CoreAVC look it up on internet.

  • good video, though for the price and amount of promotion it receives, I don't think the wind cut function worked very well

  • Yeah, I noticed that also. You can still hear the wind in TZ7 videos, or users must have disabled this function but I don't think this is the case. Oh well... I will solve this with a little piece of (headphone) foam that I will place over the TZ7 mics.

  • Amazing Quality for a digital Camera imean not that big camera like normal and still this Good image

  • Motion being blurry and video stuttering has to do with your computer. The video is actually very smooth with the original files but also here on YouTube, but I noticed that it depends on how busy your (fast) computer is at the moment. One time the video plays just fine and another time (like now for me) it stutters.

Take a look at the orginal files for a honest judgement:

    av*watch*impress*co*jp/docs/series/zooma/20090311_43308*html

(* = . and remove the space that's somewhere in the link).

  • Comment removed

  • From the link Cade78 provied, I didn't see the problem of that video clip you mentioned. You may have to upgrade your PC so you can resolve the link.

  • Stuttery video playback on YouTube has little to do with the PC. It's down to the original FPS rate captured by the camera, versus the FPS rate supported by the YouTube flash video player. If you go to a site like Vimeo and search for TZ7 videos you'll see they're perfect as the Vimeo player matches the FPS rate of the TZ7. Don't judge the camera by YouTube's shoddy support for differing frame rates. As owners will point out, playback of the original file is nothing like on YouTube.

  • I downloaded the video from your link. It is much better than the youtube video. I removed my previous comment.

  • The video quality of the TZ7 is actually very decent if you compare it to the Sanyo Xacti HD700/800 for instance (less sharp and yellowish video, search for it at YouTube) and that camera was made for filming in the first place! The TZ7 is a digital stills camera in the first place with which you can also film in HD.

It's true that highlights are blown a bit but that's the only "flaw" I can discover. Because of this sensitivity in highlights the TZ7 performs better indoor with less light.

  • The only problem is that, you need really a lot of memory to store these videos, I had the old generation of this camera. I'm going back to sanyo HD2000, by the way, your video was featured on engadget.

  • I want to love this camera, I really do as video wise it tells up in the specs that it can do pretty much what all us video fans want from a camera. However I have not seen any footage that makes me think this looks even semi-alright. Nothing is that sharp, the image stabilizer seems to be irrelevant and the focus keeps shifting. If this is no good what's the alternative! Help

  • Hey, Just need a second opinion here - would you say the 720p of this camera would be better than the 1080i of the HDC-SD5 (Panasonic Video Camera) for output through a progressive display and also would you say the sound was the same on both or better on the SD5? Thanks in advance and just do a quick search for some HD SD5 footage on youtube.

  • NB: Or if not better Similar?

  • If I have to choose I would pick 720p over 1080i anytime! Also to be honest I think 1080i/p is a bit overdone for home use, 720p is more then enough resolution. Because the SD5 is a real camcorder the quality of the video will be likely better then any still camera but I would set it up to record 720p and not 1080i. If you really want to film in 1080 resolution you should wait until camcorders support 1080p. Interlaced footage is really not of this time anymore.

  • Im gonna have to agree. Interlaced footage is useless these days & is just an extra headache to encode to progressive since all monitors are progressive these days.

    If its between 720p & 1080i, Im choosing 720p.
