  • I thought goldfish were cold water species? I doubt heat causes too many problems, them being cold blooded and all, but why do you have a heater in there?

  • @Aleloh - They are, however I find that 76-78 or so degrees keeps them healthy, for me anyway. My fish room is in a cold basement, and I don't want too much fluctuation. Thanks for the comment!! :)

  • Holy cow! 2 25 year old filters! They are both more than twice my age! and do you think that tank is underfiltered?

  • @ben191209 - I do think the tank is underfiltered! :)

  • @fishforme2 HOW? YOU HAVE LIKE 500 GALLONS OF FILTRATION ON IT!!!

  • @ben191209 - I know ;) But its never enough for me. I like filtration as much as the tank! :)

  • That AC500 is older than me lol. Great video, by the way!

  • @wiggles9217 - thanks! :)

  • out of curiosity, where do you usually buy your impellers? Do you order online?

  • @tithra33 - i get replacements at Big Als, a local chain.

  • hooray for aqua clear! : ) your ranchus are cute. I am pining for a ranchu.... someday. : )

  • What type of hanging light do you have there ? I keep seeing the same type of light used by others.

  • @espirates2 - Its a simple aluminum overhead lamp style purchased at home depot i believe.

  • NOTHIN beats an aquclear!!! Ive got 2 more than 20 yrs old!!

    cheers!

  • @Jasonator604 - agreed! Thanks for the comment! :)

  • Do you have crazy high electricity bills?

  • @SlowChromeHand - a little high, yeah. :)

  • what are all the sponges for and how are they used?

  • @worthen599 - they are used both for mechanical filtration and a host for beneficial bacteria which keeps the water clean.

  • WOW how many gallons an hour do you think it does?

  • @Patthew113 - Not sure, but its a lot. And thats what I like :) Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it!

  • man! I thought I liked over filtering my tank!

  • @SlowChromeHand - That's what I do. I love filters as much as the fish! :).

  • @fishforme2 lol I KNOW! If I add dual AC 110's, I feel like I suped up my engine in a hot rod.

  • @SlowChromeHand - I agree!!! :) Thanks for the comment! :)

  • When your impellers break, just epoxy it back together, I have done it to mine and they work just as new or better, because I know it will never come loose again after epoxing it.

  • @cubaniton74 - Great tip! Thanks for the comment - I will try that. :)

  • huga ass.lol

  • Stop dropping the impellers, Butterfingers! LOL j/k Redearsunfish, you sure got your money's worth out that AC110/500. The real question is what's the longest a heater has worked for you?

  • @balton777 :) I did get my money's worth for sure. Heater. Good question. Not long. A handful of years. maybe 7-8 at the very most in one rare instance. I have these new heaters. we'll see... Thanks for the comment.
