  • thnx so much.. :)

  • incredible images and song!

  • :) I agree thnx for commenting

  • @2:55 are all 3 children deceased? I knw they used those stands to hold up some of the deceased when taking their pictures. Look's like the case in this picture too...

  • @gumdokim I dont think so. just cuz the one is lying down

  • @goreegal U know those doll stands? Im sure you know. I believe some of the post mortem pics used the stands btw great vid

  • @gumdokim yes, ur right.. there are a few examples in this vid.. thnx :)

  • @goreegal o'h?

  • @gumdokim there are a few chair braces and standing braces .. as in 3:11 , 3:15

  • @goreegal ty but what about 2:55?

  • @gumdokim I dont think so. just cuz the one is lying down

  • @goreegal yea ur right

  • If you think that the one at 1:50 is scary, you'll shit on your pants at 3:12! I mean, Geez!!! Scare the hell out of me! Poor moms, they had to pose with their babies...it must have been really hard for them. There's something awkward with the picture at 2:26. Could it be because it is colored?

  • thnx for the comment... 3:12 has the eyes painted on the eyelids. and 2:26 his cheeks were highlighted on the picture.. all for the effect of them being alive still :(

  • I downloaded Alessandro Morchesi's album ages ago. Great choice of song!!!!!

    Many thumbs up!!!!

  • @51m0n77 hey, thnx alot.

  • That version of Ave María is the creepiest song I´ve ever heard... I´ll not sleep´tonight.

  • 1:52 is scary as hell

  • The Post-Mortem Era is coming back. Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep (NILMDTS) organization is a wonderful organization that takes photos of dead or termally ill children with their families. They make beautiful memorials and videos for the families for free I think. They do it a bit differently than this, but the meaning is still the same. :)

  • the thought of taking pictures of the dead doesn't really disturb me.... but the thought of posing next to the dead body of your sibling, parent or child when yourself's still alive kinda creeps me out. Must be a very odd thing to do.

  • Who is dead in the picture at 0:25?; it looks to me like the baby in the dad's lap. The girl at 1:34 sitting down is interesting. I am guessing they have to tie them down and hold them up so they stay still. It looks like the family has been shot or attacked at 1:38. At 1:50 it is just the girl in the middle who is dead correct? I cannot tell who is dead at 2:30, is it the man or the woman?

  • @movierocks

The father and the daughter appear to be deceased in 0:25

In the pic at 1:50 it is the center child who is deseased.

    2:30 it is the husband.

They tied some down, made braces for others and in some cases painted their eyelids to make them look like they are still alive.

  • @sammyjomc

hey thats great to know the stories behind the pics.. are u sure this is same family... I made assumptions till now.. thnx for awesome comment :)

  • @goreegal This picture haunted me for months and after a lot of searching i found the story behind it. the picture appears on quite a few websites with the story, and the injuries seem consistent with the picture. The bodies were laid out in a neighbour's house. search for Carney Parsons or Jodie Hamilton (the murderer), you can also see their graves at findagrave, they're buried in Cantrell Cemetery, Licking, Texas County, Missouri, he's listed as Carnell Parsons on that site.

  • @sammyjomc i found one article about the family so far..thnx a bunch..that pic has inspired some good assumptions... but, its good to have the real story.

  • @movierocks the family at 1:38 look up Carney Parsons, he and his family were shot, slashed and bludgeoned to death by a 20 year old (Jodie Hamilton) who felt he had got a bad deal after selling some stuff to Carney. He followed them when they were setting off on a journey to their new home, caught up with them along the way and attacked and killed them all: Carney, his wife Minnie, and sons Edward, Franklin and Jesse.

  • The song is probably the creepiest thing. A guy with a voice like that, and what they did to him to keep it :S this photos are great though, they seem so full of live still, but peacefull. Like a sweet sleep. The ones with eyes too wide open were quite disturbing. Though I defend we should save memories from people as they were alive, thats why I hate the exposion of funerals, with corpses sometimes obviously in degradating state. But these photos are a good idea for that time.

  • @natygore

The song is haunting for sure

  • as a father I cannot look at this......damn

  • @justalex31

many people wouldn't be able to view this... just need to view this with different mind set...of course it is devastating.. but, it is one very important aspect of life.

  • 1:39 i wonder what happened to the family. they look like they were all shot

  • @NawtyAngel911 something terrible happened.. i was thinking maybe horse carriage accident

  • 2:19 look it's the virgin mary

  • Only children... ):

  • yeah mostly ... other cultures still do this for all their family... also religious figures

  • As morbid as this seems to us today, I can understand why they did it. Unlike now, people didn't have hours of home video and digital cameras to record their childrens lives. They didn't have anything at all. Camera's were only used by professionals. So when they lost a child, they needed photo's likes these to remember them.

  • @tulipchic34

    ur bang on

  • Many of these images were taken from The Thanatos Archive @ Thanatos.net

  • @jackfuckingmord wow, u are a bright guy lmao, u are so right... they were found over the internet ...JUST LIKE THE VIDEO FOUND ON UR CHANNEL lmao... do u usually go around trolling your 1 cent>? at least my video provides education that ppl are interested in....if u dont find anything of value here... leave my page alone thnx

  • Macabro, pero interesante, pues refleja una forma de pensar que existia en la sociedad del siglo XIX. Gracias por el video.

  • @MeryChristmas25.. sí, así que verdad es en el macabro… sus gracias muy agradables por su comentario:)

  • I also wondered.. he has almost has the same expression as the child in his lap and they way the eldest daughter is trying to lean away. Could be just the pain of holding the child was unbearable.. ppl back then must have at most times hated this fairly new custom

  • @goreegal

In the picture on 2:04 is the dad dead too?
