To me Mario (commercial-wise) is better than Sonic, but Sonic (story-wise) is better than Mario.

I have found out why this is so good. It has a little bit of Scatman's World in 1:30 and similar parts. Apparently, Scatman's World is Spagonia.

I don't really hear Scatman's World, but it does sound a lot like the good Scatman's style.

But classic's main genre is sort of pop/techno-ish, so it's not surprising.

I love the direction they went with this classic theme. They created something new all together, instead of another remix, and as Planet Wisp proves, that doesn't work so well with Modern levels.
