To those saying "AFI changed their sound dramatically when they signed with a major label" - how long have you been an AFI fan? Pick up "Answer That & Stay Fashionable" and listen to it straight through. Next, pick up "Black Sails In the Sunset" and listen to that straight through.

They've changed over time and it happened LONG before they joined a major labor. And for the record, they didn't want to leave Nitro Records. They became too large for Nitro to support and Dexter asked them to.

I'm a little sick of all the fighting about AFI. Yeah, i totally agree they were AMAZING during their earlier years but keep in mind they were 15 years old when they started this band. Now they're in their 30's. Do you really think they'd still listen to the same music 15 years later? No. And although crash love and decemberunderground is more "poppy" than us original fans would have liked.. they still do what they set out to in the first place. TO MAKE MUSIC!

AFI HAS changed, but in my opinion this is a good thing, I've followed them since i was 10, and I've watched them evolve, change, and this shows me that they are REAL artists, they are multifaceted, and they are truly talented.

Personally i like Black Sails through Sing the Sorrow the best, but i love DU and Crash Love, and i also love Answer that, Very Proud, and Shut your mouth, i also love their Misfits covers a lot. But we all have our own opinions, and what matters is we know afi are gods

People get upset that AFI doesn't sound like they used to, but if they sounded the same we'd be bored with them. I think it's great they they can change their sound up so much. They've grown, both as a band and as individuals, and their music reflects that.

@raevshi  I don't think think its about the slight change in sound that bands go through during the years, but its the drastic "We will try to be another band now" that ticks off the fans, especially when its brought on by a rise in popularity and contract with a major labe.
