cool, some months ago i wanted to move from windows to ubuntu studio, i have a padkontrol also, but i coudn't figure out how to make it sound, how to install the drivers (i can't develop them cuz i can't program) so i failed, but i'll always be willing to move, to ubuntu if it can offerme the same or at least something like ableton live. So how did you do it?
I don't do much programming myself but worked on this project using an application named "Puredata" (PD). Available for all OS, but I used Ubuntu cause the Win version cannot send SYSEX messages which is necessary to control the LEDs.
Getting Ubuntu to recognize padKontrol is easy... perhaps easier than Windows. Just plug it in and will appear as a MIDI device. As you mention, the hard part is getting sound since there are few audio apps for Ubuntu. Maybe you should stay with Win/Mac.
thanks for the answer, when i pluged it in didn't do a thing, and i couldn't figure out how to make a sound or how to use the tools, there are no tutorials, nor info. So i'll stick to windows.
lol wtf was that?

can you make loops on the padkontrol?
MrNoahSeuren 2 years ago
The padKontorl is only a MIDI controller.
You can do anything (Loops, etc) as long as your host application supports it. (Or you can write your own applications like I did in the video)
