  • You fucking idiots are talking shit on Jacare, and Maia! You ARE idiots. Your hopeless retarded greasy pieces of shit who couldnt appreciate phenominal hard work, talent, and BJJ if it choked you the fuck out, and shit on your stupid sleeping faces.

  • Not a big fan of jacares game either. boring and cheap in the roger fight when he kept running out of bounds. dude is still nasty tho. glad maia took this one, he is much more entertaining

  • @RMNUbjjBEN I disagree, I like Jacare's game just fine. In the Roger fight Jacare was LITERALLY fighting with one arm. He had a broken arm that is the only reason he was being evasive. Plus Jacare is one of the very few BJJ players who actually engages his opponent in the stand up. He uses great judo throws to get the fight to the ground. He doesn't simply pull guard like most BJJ players do. I think as great as Roger is, Jacare is WAY more ENTERTAINING.

  • maia better and jacares only skill against other top jitsu players is stalling

  • @mixenbo90 i disagree completely..... watch his fight against fabricio werdum.

  • Does anyone else think Jacare is like a master at stalling in this and the roger gracie match

  • wow, maia beat jacare and rumulo barral choke maia unconcious and roger gracie destroyed barral, men in jiu jitsu their is always someone that is better than you.............. well except if your roger gracie

  • @poganla123 styles make fights

  • JUIZ CHATO DO CARALHO !

  • BATALHA EPICA

  • who is the ref?

  • @VSM101 Looks like the ref is Wendell Alexander, co-founder of Nova Uniao.

  • ok you two take a deep breath. but for shits and giggles i agree jacare would take maia in an mma bout but would be alot closer then most people would think

  • @Spooky4478 I don't think it would be very easy maia's stand up is getting better every time he goes out there his fight with munoz was really impressive

  • I'm a huge fan of Maia, but I believe he'd get wrecked if they were to meet up in an MMA bout... Jacare would eat him alive.

  • @PhukAdvertisements Good for you, to bad no1 gives a fuck what you believe.

  • @R4St4MON420 Kind of how no one gives a fuck about your opinion, pothead.

  • @PhukAdvertisements Ouch that one really hurt.

  • @R4St4MON420 Yea, the truth hurts, don't it?

  • @PhukAdvertisements oh yes, you got me.

  • @R4St4MON420 I know.

  • @PhukAdvertisements You are ridiculous sir... Lots of the best Jiu jutsu practitioners in the world smoke the ganja bro. I smoke the ganja and when I go to bjj practice I'm in the muthafuggin zone haha. Why the hell did you use pothead as an insult? That's a good thing! haha

  • @westerley26 Actually, I wasn't trying to use it as an insult, seeing as how I'm a huge pot enthusiast too. I smoke stuff like OG Kush, Area 51, Mango, NL5, White Widow, White Russian... so I wasn't really trying to insult him by calling him a pothead, I just noticed he had "420" in his user name. He insulted me, so I let him know nobody gives a fuck about his opinion either. Calling him a pothead was a mistake, because like I said, I love weed & it should be legal dammit. Fuck pills & alcohol!

  • luta muito técnica

  • I tried grappling in gi the other day and had mixed feelings.. all they did the whole time was grab my collar and sleeve and hold on to me and try that collar choke..I didnt think itd be much different than no gi but it was way different,,They say you need to trian with a gi to get truly good but im not sure becasue if it wasnt for them holding on i would have passed easliy but ten again i guess thats the point..if u can pass with a gi , then passing with nogi is easier?? idk im a newbie

  • @aftercarecarez Yes, you are lol. You must have been rolling with other newbies if all they did was go for a collar choke.

  • Lol. Maia is such a gi freak. Couldn't shake him off with a taser, I'd think.

  • wow i really thought jacare would beat him but wow demian is awesome jiu jitsu is wierd because jacare has beaten guys that beat demian maia

  • @poganla123 yeah jiu jitsu is wierd because you cannot win all the time

  • This is bjj at its finest.

  • i think this is one of the best jui jitsu matches iv seen

  • Demian Maia see's into the matrix of BJJ

  • @Passenger87 When I roll everything is green and black descending letters.

  • jacare tava fugindo do meio do tatame

  • empate

  • If you don't think demian maia won that, you're a retard at jiujitsu.

  • i wish there were nude women doing bjj

  • I've a huge Maia fan and the story of Maia and Jacare always seems to be like this. Maia is much better at control and positional dominance, Jacare is better at explosive submissions. Maia the edge in Gi, Jacare the edge in No Gi.

This match was a pretty dominant one from Maia though, the dude is a beast.

  • so, who won?

  • @jesperchristensson damian maia

  • @UnecesaryProductions No he didnt, you stupid whore cunt motherfucker

  • Man the atmosphere there is amazing. Not even close to that here in Oz, though competitions have been growing over the years!

  • You can really see the difference in the level of jiujitsu from both fighters. Whatever Maia wants to do, he's able to do it. Jacare puts up a hell of a struggle against him, but Maia controls where the fight takes place. It's incredible.

  • @Xionc I agree, although they are both fighting at the black belt level, if im not mistaken Maia is about 2or 3 degrees higher.

Quem sabe? Soh o Jacare, ne?

  • I meant to say "I was checking out"

  • I have checking out Jacare's fights today and at first glance I thought wow he is pretty good, but after like the fifth fight I saw of him I noticed some punk shit he does!!! Whenever he has any competition he starts running and rolling off the mats to get the fight started over!!! That bullshit won't fly in the UFC!! He is pretty nice but he needs to learn to fight his way out of trouble instead of running and rolling off the freaking mats. Did anyone else notice this crap???

  • i think this is more exciting than a basketball game

  • not great jiujitsu of Maia...Jacare more talentive than him.

  • @oriddavid

Who won?? Demian. Who had better jiu jitsu?? Demian.

  • UH vai PEGAaaar , UH VAI PEGAAAAR , UH VAI PEGAAAR !

  • jacare needs to be in ufc

  • so im guessing Damian Won By Points?

  • nice bjj ;)

  • 8 people don't recognize great jiu-jitsu

  • it's like a soccer crowd

  • fuck demian maia.... jacare will always be better than him

  • So Maia, the winner of this contest, moves on to the UFC while Jacare goes to Strikeforce. Get Jacare the FUCK out of strikeforce and put him in the UFC!!! We can see a more violent round 2 lol

  • @dss103 jacares developed into a proper mixed martial artist training at blackhouse with cigano, anderson silva, lyoto, maia's still primarily a bjj guy with decent stand up, jacare has good wrestling now, hes stand up is really developing though training with cigano anderson silva machida

  • Luta epica.... parabens Demian

  • Sou BRASA FOTALEZA - CE. Maia é um grande representante do BJJ. Valeu Demian Maia!

  • I love the energy of the crowd. BJJ is awesome.

Plus, Jacare and Demian are 2 of my favorite fighters.

    joga justo pra caralhO!

  • I've seen 4 BJJ fights of Jacare and I am starting to like his fighting style. He does NOT like to go into people's guard, which separates him from the rest. He acts like a Judoka (hence he has a Judo black belt) or a Sambo player ... because both know their way around the guard but try to avoid it by passing it or not even going in it to start with. Plus his Judo throws are incredible compared to other BJJ guys who hold a Judo black belt (e.g. Nog, Werdum, Silva, etc).

  • muito boa luta!!

  • that's how BJJ tournaments are in Brazil... teams get together to cheer for their teammates... or against another gym they hate!

  • @fernandosilvado I believe you because I think BJJ is considered a national sport isn't it? I know that in Japan whenever there's Judo, thousands come to see big competitions. In Russia whenever there's Sambo or Combat Sambo grappling tourney's, thousands come as well since in Russia Sambo is considered a national sport. In America, none of the martial arts (except maybe Wrestling) is even close to considering a national sport.

  • @pcjudosambo I wouldn't go as far as saying it would be aocnsidered a national sport because in general terms it still is inacessible to the masses. However, no matter if its a tennis match of a jiu-jitsu tournament, brazilians enjoy cheering and basically any sport ends up sounding like it's a soccer game... I can't wait for UFC Brazil... people think that the canadians and the british are loud... man.. there's only going to be 10 thousand people at that event, but they will cheer nonstop!!!

Sinistro

  • Can someone explain to me why there was a winner in that match because the way i see it, there is no clear winner. A draw would be much fitting for me. Now i am not an expert in Tournament BJJ or BJJ tournament rules so refrain from the needless insults and name calling. I know YouTube can be breeding ground for immature responses and comments but can all be adults at some point can't we?

  • @kanguesso I believe the way it works is that you get points for various things, like getting a mount or back mount, reversing your opponent. Basically if you're the more dominant or smarter jiu-jit-su player, you're going to win by points, if not by submission. I'm no expert either, but as I see it, the round was relatively neutral but Maia was definitely pushing the pace and being the more dominant and threatening ground fighter.

  • @joeltsmitty

You get points for takedowns, sweeps and positioning. Full mount, back mount (both hooks in), sideposition. You win direct by submission if the opponent taps.

You get advantages if you are the aggressor fighter and tries to go for takedowns and submissions.

  • @joeltsmitty Thanks dude.

  • BJJ is this big in the us!! Go to pan ams or worlds in long beach!!

so me faltava essa....o cara falar que jacaré é ruim

  • Demian maia is my coach.... btw

  • jacare should go to the ufc and do a mma rematch. hed lose though.

  • "Jacare" is the Brazillian word for a type of crocodile-like reptile. "Maia" is the Brazillian name for "mayonaise."

  • @Infantry1982 maia doesnt mean mayonaise

  • demian maia is the best!

  • Does anyone know if Maia uses Gracie Juijitsu? or Some other type of brazilian juijitsu?

  • Uninspiring effort by Demian. Too much of jump to guard, pull the other player's gi and wait and see what happens. I expected more.

  • @RonnieRocker he was the one initiating successful actions (took Jacare's back 2 times, with hooks in), and the more active and aggressive, Jacarè didn't do anything to him but defend.

They are probably the 2 best grapplers in activity, and some of the best ever, not always these matchups produce action packed and exciting fights.

  • @RonnieRocker so... sorry for playing jiu jitsu?

  • @Drums107 What do you mean? I enjoy training jiu jitsu a lot.

My comment was about the clip of this particular match. I have seen other stuff with Demian where he is very good, I like his style in mma.

  • @RonnieRocker When you're both world class blackbelts it can very much be a stalemate. Jacare is known for his athleticism and I'm sure maia was trying to use technique to cancel out any advantage jacare might have in that respect, and after hanging off his back like a monkey for a good long while, he's worn Jacare down a lot. That's a pretty good strategy in my book. Someone as skilled as Jacare, getting on his back and staying there.....that takes some serious skill.

  • @RonnieRocker

He just beat Jacare you simpleton. Learn the sport.

  • they both end up raising their hands hehe thats funny....

  • who won?

  • @McG0025 Demian Maia

  • I love the energy. I wish BJJ was this big in the US!

  • @michaelgrimm It is at the black belt finals of the Mundials!

  • the community of bjj is definitely accelerating in growth in the US

  • @michaelgrimm i know, they actually can comprehend the whole point of jiujitsu......I hate being an American because it means I am labeled as a slow, retarded, disrespectful turd by the world....which actually many Americans are....look at the average UFC fans...theyd be throwing bottles on the fuckin mat at a spectacular event like this...

  • @OffspringFTW65 I can relate. After my first MMA fight I had bottles thrown at me after I beat the fan favorite...

  • @michaelgrimm Im sorry to hear that.....but hey, you were the underdog so congrats!

  • @OffspringFTW65 I know what you mean. Asians are also well ahead of Americans when it comes to appreciating all the other facets of MMA. Just look at the Pride fights. Fans didn't boo when fights hit the mat. However, i think American Fans hate fighters who stall or Lay & Pray more so than anything. Maia's first few victories in the UFC all hit the mat and ended in Submissions, He wasn't booed. He was aggressive & was constantly looking to improve position and attacking from the bottom or top.

  • @michaelgrimm brasilians ftw!

  • ALLIGATOR IS WEAK DEMIAN IS VERY BEST !!!

  • @decomachado Jacare is no where near weak

  • Beautiful jiu-jitsu, two of the best ever. Gotta BJJ competition in an hour. Had to get psyched. great video.

  • Was this the final?

  • oprah kick demian maia's ass

  • damian is gonna wrap alan belcher up QUICK cant wait

  • the crowd is going wild is this the abu-dahbi trials?

  • how is jumping to guard gay...most of the bjj fighters jump to guard.

guard is heaps dangerous with all the submissions you can do off on your back.

try going for a submission on top in someones guard...youll get swept

also hes jumping to guard because jacare 's takedown ability is really solid

  • so who do you think won?

  • "uh vai pega! uh vai pega!!!"

  • Jumping to Guard is gay, get some judo.

  • he probably also jumps to guard because he knows hes good on his back

look at his ufc fights...how many times has he finished someone with a triangle choke

  • Does damian maia know any takedowns or throws or does he always just jump to guard?

  • @charliemurphyslaw Jumping into guard is a solid and offensive move, if you are able to jump into a solid guard position or potential submission that is more beneficial than a take down where you might end up in guard. that is the bid difference in submission grappling from MMA.

  • @charliemurphyslaw he does have some solid takedowns but we dont see them that much

  • @charliemurphyslaw he put chael sonnen on his back. that is saying a lot

  • @charliemurphyslaw he used a Hiza Guruma on Chael Sonnen i know that. i don't recall him throwing anyone else though. he pulled guard on Ed Herman.

  • rofl how sick would it of been if he tapped him in the first 30 seconds.

  • is it just me, or is the crowd really going nuts? this feels like a basketball game or something

  • I think it's Brazil. Brazilians love grappling like Americans love basketball.

  • @Nightmonkey17 baseball*

  • @Nightmonkey17 ... it was in LA

  • @JEBSDUDES did u see who was competing

  • @spidathon why?

  • @JEBSDUDES

Here the vuvuzella? More like a soccer match

  • @JEBSDUDES Yes, that's really cool, right? In Germany you're glad if someone is watching at all!

  • @JEBSDUDES Its because it is the World Championship Final

  • @JEBSDUDES they all going crazy 2 big names lol

  • @JEBSDUDES this shits way more exciting than a bunch of monkeys throwing a ball at a hoop

  • Jacare usually goes nuts tryin to pass the guard. I like how damien was able to slow the match down.

  • negreanwho- Just because Mario hasn't won a major tournament, doesn't mean that Maia is better. In 1993 and 1994 Mario was ranked number one in his division by LINJJI.

  • This is Jiu Jitsu on another level

  • 1:55 Veni pa' ca' ;D

  • I'd like to see Maia vs. Mario Roberto. That wouldn't even be a match. Mario would wipe the floor with him.

  • @karateguy84 - are you serious? Mario Roberto has never won any major tournament as a black belt. Maia is a 3 time world champion as a black belt. Mario Roberto is not in the same league as Maia.

  • can someone explain the significance of the green and yellow belt maia is wearing. Thank you

  • Reigning world bjj champs from the previous year where the brazilian flag belt

  • You're retarded. It's a way to distinguish them for points.

  • @Zildo420 thats just to distinguish them for points since they're both wearing white

  • @maravillin since they are both blackbelts, one wears a green and yellow belt in order to differentiate between the two.

  • so which is it, reigning champ or just differentiating?

  • they have those in competitions to distinguish between the two people when the ref is giving points. You may be able to see the green/yellow band on the ref's hand. That meaqns that when maia gets a point, the ref raises the arm with the band and the scorekeepers know who to give the points to.

  • tupac biggie?? moron, not even funny

  • Tyson and holyfield, coture and lidell, tupac and biggie, jacare and maia. brilliant!

  • i would like to see Damian Maia an Robert drysdale that would be great they are my favorite bjj practitioners

  • Funny how Ronaldo figured he won that at the end. He must have been really high, to think he had anything to offer Maia.

  • @Ninearm

ronaldo and maia at one point were teammates on team brasa and ronoldo souza is a very accomplished grappler while maia is better he is definantly a worth advisary

  • You do realize that Jacare is 2-1 against Maia in grappling competition?

  • Very entertaining. I see the point of the x guard here. However, my school is so old School Gracie, my instructor doesn't teach it. Personally I don't care to use it, but knowing how to defend it is obviously important after watching this video.

  • jacare is well be great in mma just watch. his jiu jitsu is WORLD class

  • @JasonBJJ1990

Thanks for clarifying who is dumb here! All the bad asses in mma are good strikers: the ones who grapple and can't punch always end up released by the UFC

You still live in the Gracie's era . Long time since then!

  • @jukcoder

i do muay thai and bjj man . bro there guys who are good grappler that are good fighters anderson, nog, paulo fhilo, NICK DIAZ,NAT DIAZ, GELBERT MELENDIAZ, DAVID DOUGLUS, JOSE ALDO! BRO THERE SO MANY I cant list them all.

man WHY YOU WATCHIN THIS VIDEO IF YOU DONT LIKE GRAPPLING FUCK YOU !

  • @JasonBJJ1990

I did not say I don't like grapplers or grappling. I did say in my first comment that JJ and wrestling should implied in your fighting strategy: You don't just lay in your ass and wait for your opponent to come down so you can submit him as many boring UFC fighters do - most of them got released, anyway

Anderson Sliva and Fedor send people to sleep: if not they submit them

I am no bro, if you use that linguo:

And fuck you , too from Bham with love

  • DONT TALK ABOUT MMA YOU DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT IT . JUST WATCH THE VIDEO AND SHUT UP . YOUR DONT GRAPPLE YOU DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT DEMIEN MAYA OR JACARE OR ANDRE GALVAO MAN SHUT UP! JIU JITSU IS PRACTICAL IN MMA> IM NOT A FAN of JUST COMMIN IN WITH ONE STYLE I CONSTANLY TRY TO LEARN THE STAND UP. EVEN KNOW I HAVE A Mcl TEAR 1st degree i got 1 month left of HEALING maybe more. then its BACK TO FULL TIME TRAINING AGAIN. FUCK BROCK LESNER. AND ANDERSON HAD A BLK BELT FROM NOG

  • this is one of the worst comments ive ever heard. Fedor, Big Nog, and Barnett all top 5 heavyweights in mma history all win most of their fights via submission.

  • That's a bit of a biased statement. People who grapple and can't punch will get released just as someone who can punch but can't grapple. If your one dimensional youre losing fights, period. There are only a couple of guys in the world of mma good enough to thrive very long on one skillset.

  • gotta love the way Demian Maia used the X guard to get Jacare's back. Work of art...

    WAR Maia!!

  • when was this
