  • you tie a dhoti way better than most indians do...way to go

  • go to nepal and tell them how to tie dhoti

they will say tie indian people neck HAHAHAHA

u know why we called them Dhoti Dhoti .......Fuck Dhoties

  • When a person wears DHOVATHI - the idea is to display hem line and the pleats in the front ,on the back, and around both the legs in a flowing design .

  • DHOVATHIS or DHOTHIS are made either by hand made ( woven by weavers ) or in a factory. USUALLY all the DHOVATHIS will have hem line , of different bright colours. Hem line gives elegance to the DHVATHI. The hem line in the case of hand made DHOVATHIS is about 3 to 4 inches wide. Whereas the hem line width of GLASSGOW DHOVATHIS is about one inch .( I guess the name- "GLASSGOW DHOVATHIS" is becoz they were used to be made in Britain when INDIA was under British rule.Hem line adds elegance .

  • hey buddy..thanks for your input..you know your DHOVATHIS..thats interesting

what you wrote about GLASSGOW DHOVATHIS..God bless

  • Dhovathi is very elegant, simple and more suitable for tropical climate (no snow,no cold ).DHOVATHI or DHOTHI is worn in different styles in different parts of INDIA. The one which is worn by people in ANDHRA PRADESH ( particularly the politicians - the white KHADI DHOVATHIS or the fine white DHOVATHIS- what are usually called as GLASSGOW DHOVATHIS ,made of fine cotton , are so elegant that one has to experience. farmers, laborers wear dhothis differently for their work in the fields.

  • That's a pretty smart way of wearing it. What region is this? It looks different to the Bengali/Iskcon one at the front.

  • hahaha, thanks mate! Ure great! This traditional dress for a bengali hindu and you just taught me how to do it!
