Thomas Haake, Matt Halpern, Travis Orbin, Tosin Abasi, Navene Koperweis, Misha Mansoor, Chimp Spanner, Pete Peterson ect... All of these individuals are much more skilled with their instruments than any 80's metal bands I can conjure up. Granted this does not mean the music is better since taste in music is subjective emotional response. @xProtestTheBradx The guitars djent just fine - we don't. Neither I nor Randy play that kind of music. I play melodeath, and he was a bass player in a prog band. We were just fucking around. There was literally no thought put into the riffs. xD You can see his bass rig on the left, one guitarists rig (which we're playing through) the general PA rig (With power outlets), and the other guitarits' rig. The violin was his singers (It's a cheapo), and the cheap upright Bass is Randy's as well.
