I usually take the if you don't have anything nice to say approach but, playing and being inspired by SRV music is a tribute, unless it's halloween the dress up bit is just a bit much...honestly, what is the point!
there are sooooo many tribute bands like the beatles led zepplin journey any many more he's just doing that a tribute. man i gotta tell you something you play very good work on the singing and change your band .. But you are ok man keep on rockin'
There was one, and only one, Stevie Ray Vaughan. Stop trying to be him. Go your own way. Become your own person. I'm sure Stevie would have told you to do that.
I agree, it's not honoring SRV to try and copy him, though I must give you credit for the work you've put into copying his stage appearance. Dr John said it best about SRV "He drew from everybody out there, but what came out was him". That's what you should do in my opinion, cause there is only one Stevie Ray Vaughan.

dude - he is amazing.
I saw him open for David Allan Coe a couple of years ago - hes SRV right down to the paint chips and pickups in his guitar.
I shouted out for him to play this song - and he just went "alright!" - really nice, cool dude.
