Lauri-Volpi is great...and I am grateful that his voice has been recorded to stand through the ages. But you know what this tells me? That, we too, have had our great tenors in our age...Pavarotti, Domingo and (for, those of you a little older) the greatest of all....Bjoerling. We treasure them all and should not seek to "rank" them too closely, since each brings his uniqueness to our aural lives.
