You'd have to live longer than humans typically live in general to develop cancer from it. If you vaporize it you aren't exposed to the carcinogens, avoiding the minuscule risk of cancer altogether. Brain damage? Not quite. Temporary memory loss and accelerating psychosis development(in people that will develop it regardless of drug consumption) is

It is actually a neuroprotective antioxidant (it protects the brain from damage due to events like stroke or trauma) and is anti-cancerous. THC triggers autophagy in the brain, which kills cancerous brain cells but does not harm healthy cells. THC is shown to fight tumor growth.

Marijuana has actually been shown to protect memory and prevent the effects of aging conditions such as Alzheimer's. @Lucricia228 To add one thing, while cigarettes are known for causing cancer, carcinogens in smoke are not the primary cause. Unlike THC, which opens your airways, tobacco smoke constricts them and the nicotine hardens the mucus and cilia as well as veins and arteries, which is a major cancer and lung-problem factor. Plaque buildup from tobacco smoke also leads to other types of cancer, such as lymphoma. Marijuana smoke does not have these factors, and marijuana can be vaporized or eaten safely.

First of all, the study involved 15 test subjects, statistically insignificant and with tens of millions of marijuana smokers in the U.S. alone; drawing conclusions from this group is silly. Secondly, the test subjects smoked "at least five marijuana cigarettes daily for an average of 20 years." That's approximately 3 pounds of marijuana a year. A ridiculous study.

@Lucricia228 In addition, there are also much more thorough studies performed that actually come to the opposite conclusion: that THC promotes brain growth, specifically in one of the areas that the other study claimed was shrunken by marijuana. The study was published in 2005 and is available on jci[dot]org. Where do you even get off saying that a shrinking amygdalas and hippocampus are bad things? Too large an amygdalas is a condition caused by anxiety, something THC might actually treat.
