This is an excellent performance! However (and I say this gently), if you have never heard Andre' Purcell's rendition with St. Marten, Academy in the Fields, you should! Just saying. Look it up! :)
que cuarteto Haydn Mozart Telemann Vivaldi....mmmamitaaaaaaaaa.e inmediatamente se me viene a la memoria la frase sabia de Salieri .......yo os absuelvo mediocres de este mundo
This song is amazing. I believe this movement is otherwise refered to as Allegro in D. The trumpets are very well tuned and crisp, and soft with their notes.
Oh, I know it's in C, but if you search youtube for Allegro in D for strings, or Allegro in D orchestra, you will hear the resemblence. It is a rewrite of this song for the high school string orchestra.
@PeriodinstrumentfaN allegro in d is an arrangement of this song for a stringed orchestra without trumpets and its not a concerto, but this version is the actual version and it is supposed to be in C
And by the way Niklas Eklund and The Art of the Baroque Trumpet. Vol 3 is with a soprano, Susanne Ryden, it has some ethereal parts, the trumpet starts, the soprano takes over and the listener cannot point to the moment when they hand over.
Please, please people who contribute to all these wonderful MUSIC videos , stop please stop calling them "songs", it shows a complete ignorance . The word "song" in the Oxford concise dictionary calls a song vocal music or a short poem set to music. I wouldn't call any of Vivaldi's MUSIC a song.!!
Please, please people who constantly harp and condescend to potential classical music lovers-- remember, it's behavior like this that is killing the genre dead dead dead!
This recording comes from a series of CD's on Naxos that are around 6 bucks apiece. I think they're titled The Art of the Baroque Trumpet, and there's between four and six of them. They're all this beautiful or better. N. Eklund may be the world's best baroque trumpeter. Those CD's are well worth ordering.
i absolutely agree.. i have all 6 CDs... i went all the way to Bangkok, Thailand to buy all CDs. I even took the trouble of asking the Cust Service to open the 6th CD to verify if they use Period-Instruments.
It's a joy listening to the entire Set... i like Purcell's pieces for voice and trumpet... :>
My teacher Frode Jakobsen is just as good as N. Eklund playing barouqe trumpet. They are really good friends, and i am so lucky that i have played with both of them. They are extreamely good both of them.
I liked it but can't show a thump up

I had it on tape years ago and cannot find it ANYWHERE!
Concerto for two trumpets and organ-the same piece as here but the violins are replaced by an organ.
