As a fan back from the mid 70s I had this performance for years on a VHS. Today the same concert dropped down in my postbox on a DVD signed by Andy himself...I am over the moon!
Ah yes - I Can See Your House From Here - which is one of their 2 worst albums, by general consent (along with The Single Factor). The only redeeming feature of it is Ice, which is utterly sensational (or wallowingly self indulgent by your criteria).
Nice to hear this again after 30 years saw them 3 times at Sheffield Arena during the 70s & 80s very underated band.
Never went commercially big but they still had a large following. Main mambers I remember were Andy Latimer Guitar & Vocals, Andy Ward Drums, Chris Rainbow Keyboards .
Still put goose bumps on my neck like it was yesterday ..
I am new to Camel, however i still cannot find anything remotely as good as this particular track which is simply without question, a very wonderful piece of music.
Let us say that the in general ,(those I Have Met are isolationists in general) and treat non-americans with suspicion and for some unknown reason wish to be the worlds policemen. I didn't ask them to or vote for them. The one good thing to happen is OBAMA. Don't start me LOL. The Gun is god, bible in one hand and gun in the other. Sorry, but they are scary people.
Not all, of course, but I have Been unfortunate...Met A Few, Not impressed they have the impression that they are well - liked, talk about naive, they are derided, anything really stupid that happens, the cry goes up "Only In America". Like The Canadians though, they're nuts like us Brits LOL
@keyboarddancers "wallowingly (non-self) indulgent" music! -When the woman reaches the West maybe she'll get into (post-self-stylings), such as Wang Chung, Paula Abdul, Great White or Bobby Brown? Or maybe still enjoy some classical variations, via Rockin' the classics sounds?
Beyond the endless joyful indulgences of EC's bluesy cohorts nothing, but maybe Erik Tarloff's F-off cadenza can hold sway,or make comment. 'Dulgent music' (look it up!) It's all (angst-free) good! Worthy, by whatever name
@MrSirDel American? Which part of America? Utah, Oregon, North or South Dakota? Please be more specific. Whatever your view of "American" aesthetic preferences, surely you can't make generalisations about a population of roughly 300m!
What an inspirational guitarist! as we are all aware there have been many, many good guitarists, but only one Andrew Latimer. The guitar is almost trying to communicate with the listener, love the tone change at about 3min 40 sec, that Gibson really starts to sing from there. Thanks Andy.

Yeah, totally agreed, there aren't many guitarists which can express this "difficult" feelings than AL...
His sensitivity is exceptionell!!
And yet, he's still got a "raw" sound when needed.
That's genoius and a personel approach to express your feelings..
He and D.Gilmour (and a few more) are in the same division, but maybe with different angles of creating?
