que voz mas hermosa yo que estudio para contratenor se de la dificultad para cantar de esta manera y el timbre bellamente masculino, ademas guapo pues para correrse esta el contratenor toda una preciosa combinacion.
I agree, his voice is his amazing! His speaking voice, which I've heard in person, is relatively deep, just like a baritone's, I would say. His high C# at the end is incredible!! I'm really impressed David.
This is the best version of this on YouTube. I have a question for countertenors: Hansen's skills go so far beyond the other countertenors I've heard, he sounds more like a natural male soprano like Michael Maniaci. Is Hansen a male soprano, or is he really a countertenor? Has anyone heard his speaking voice? And if he's a countenor, how does he do coloratura like that? Have voice teachers discovered a new technique, or what?
I think he is a countertenor usually sopranist timbre is more childlish.
The coloratura is a very important part of baroque repertoire that was usually sung by Rossinian mezzo-sopranos.
But I believe that the key is actually Rossini(yes I know is not baroque) Rossini wrote this amazing vocal method "Gorgheggi e solfeggi per rendere la voce agile e imparare il bel canto" are many vocalises that you must to do everyday and help you a lot with coloratura that's what even Cecilia Bartoli do it.
@feraloperacompany A very able and dramatic performance. His timbre is definitely that of a countertenor (as the term is used today), not a natural alto or soprano, although his range is greater than some. He would have difficulty singing piano rather than forte on the high notes. His voice does have a greater Baroque-style focus than Maniaci's (at least in contrast to Michael's earlier performances) and, therefore, may be closer to the described sound of the castrato voice in that regard.
Estoy hipnotizada con la voz de este hombre, no puedo dejar de escucharlo. Qué belleza.
