  • اتفضحنا يارجالة

  • wow.. powerful.

  • If you're comparing him and the real egyptians, maybe the real problem is the director. She spent most of her life in Canada so maybe she didn't get to know egypt that well.

  • سمعت كل حاجة انى افهم كلمة مش فاهم حاجة خالص كلة شانس شانس

  • Many people loved this movie,it was suspense from the beginning to the end. Many of us know to view tourism websites,or documentaries if we wish to learn more about the actual life and ways of Cairo,& we do.But for the movie, the main actresses & actors were very natural.

  • The film director is stuck up her own ass! what a load of shit!

  • fuck this film director, they left quran to meet her, unviel, i would tell u in arabic, KOSS OMMEK

  • well this only happens in poor places not everywhere and i'm egyptian and blond and i go out everyday and nothing happens to me and i feel safe in my country..

  • @racoofield

You win credit for liking Sergei Parajanov's marvelous 'Sayat Nova / The Color of Pomegranates', but shame on you for judging this movie on the most absurd, superficial terms imaginable.

..."this director is maniac" - are we then to assume you are declaring a Jihad on Ms. Nadda? Way to bridge the divide further. Damn fanatic. You know what's really "unrealistic and kitchy"?: The Qur'an. Unlike that mess, this movie is a work of fine art.

  • @FungusMossGnosis I am atheist

  • @racoofield

An anti-romantic atheist I guess? Sorry for jumping to conclusions. It's usually Religion to blame for fucking with people ability to perceive reality clearly. Art is one of the more subjective things in life. I found the movie to be very realist through the lens of romantic filmmaking. Sorry you missed that.

  • what a gorgeous children!

  • Every punk who talks bullshit about the egyptians or the muslims is an asshole! Typical for the redneck illiterates to judge others! Stick to your "great" USA, where you shoot each other everyday on the streets! Stick to your icon, George Bush and Charles Manson, and to all the misery that compose you as a nation! Egypt is a wonderful country and the redneck only dream of having the history or beauty of Egypt! Even a WC in Cairo is older and more valuable than the USA! Cheap rasist pricks!

  • he isnt egyptian, he's half sudanese!! he's part of the PRESTIGIOUS AND WORLDWIDE KNOWN MAHDI family that kicked out the british from sudan!! sadig al mahidi is his great great grandfather!

  • Ok I have read lots of comments and I have noticed that every body pointed their fingers to the harassment issue and what I’m up say here it is not an excuse at all people always look at the problem with out asking WHY DOES THIS HAPPENING ? Well it’s the result stress of behave and psychology side effect.

  • The west forgotten that these guys in Egypt life style not like the western life style they grow up in environments completely different then the Arab life and in their teen age they can experience and discover their relationship with a females and sexuality too early

  • in the other hand in Arab life Egypt as example because of customs and religion we don’t get to experience that unless we get married there is men who is a 38 years old not knowing how it is like been involved into a relation ship with a female.

  • @East17A no but its ok for u to experiment with or have relations with men bcz the way ur culture and religion is set up. plz dont deny this it is common knowledge.

  • @MsCmefly sorry man i didn't yget our point ?! what you mean by having experiment relations with men? i hope you don't mean of been GAY because you are confusing me please be more direct and clear !

  • that’s why we have these bad behavior in the street all of this stress and the need for such a relationship and the crime rate against women still not bad according to the life still this culture have this is my opinion and I live in America and even there in America women has harassment problems too

  • Comment removed

  • @East17A of course, (unfortunately) women can face sexual abuse or harassment (no matter how do you call it) all over the world. it is not about east, west or islam. but it is not fair just denying arab teenagers following_especially_ blonde women in egypt. i myself experienced that. it is just disturbing and for a lonely stranger, it is freaking scary. guys follow tourist women. but ALSO the old guys who try to help (and protect) a scared woman (just like in the movie) exist in there.

  • @East17A egypt has no infrastructure for reporting abuse and harrassment if a woman went to police to complain she would probably be laughed at. so just because u have "less" reporting or statistics doesn't mean it doesn't happen. when are the men in your country going to accept responsibility for their urges?

  • I am referring to sexual harassment, not for sales, etc. Sales is easy to handle and can be laughed off and managed once you get used to it, but the sexual harassment only gets worse over time. You feel the only way to manage it is to hide yourself away, which is so disempowering. I am not only talking verbal, but also physical harassment. I don't think this can be attributed to Egyptians being hot tempered. And please note, this comment only refers to the harassment... Egypt has many beauties.

  • wow . classic egyptian song

  • this is an amzing movie, i will always remember it

  • Country side are traditional/conservative NOT Islamic.

  • "i need to show people i exist" wow this making of is pretty rad. it makes me feel more alive

  • my only complaint is that the veiled woman who uncovered her veil...i dislikes thaaat !!! why did she do that??& the director luved that & she said that she wanted 2 show herself 2 the world????WHAT???but i luveddd the rest of the video

  • 5:30 is so beautiful

  • That's quite good making, but as usual we understand religion wrong again. : (

  • so we have high fertility ^^

  • ok wait a minute we dont follow around touristes maybe it would have happend to u mom bec. she is pretty but i doubt she was blond with blue eyes bu i love u and cairo

  • i am an egyptian and i live in canada..now i live in egypt

i dont look much like an egyptian and yes i get harassed a lot..

98% of the tourists get harassed in egypt

egypt is actually the second worse country when it comes to sexual harassment in public places. that inculdes stalking a woman, inappropriate physical contact and inappropriate comments to a (strange) woman

  • so an important Q that touriste dony get do u dress the same way as u dress in canada i know egypt is hot but u at least respect the ppl ( i am not generlizing most of toursit are ok)

  • i am an egyptian and i am very fimiliar with the egyptian culture..no i dont dress the same way in cairo as i dress in canada..in cairo bab2a mo7afza aktar

  • @medomody588 it is one thing to love your country and another to ignore the bad points without doing anything to change them be proactive and motivated and then u can be proud

  • @KukaColey there is no country without bad points

i know egypt has a lot of bad points and i never said i ignore them

but u should be proud of ur country so u can make it a better place

if u r n't u won't think to fix the problems in it

  • @medomody588 You should be proud of the good points and disgraced enough at the bad ones in order to change them. And also speak openly about them without have to keep justifying the country by saying... "but remember the good" issues need to be seperated.

  • ok i realy know what u mean sexual harassmant is one of the problems that we have but what causes it if u r in egypt now they r discusing the penelty of sexual harrasment at courts so it might be solved in a few years (i know what u r thinking ana shab masry yeb2a akoon a3ed fee el share3 we b3akes el banat wlahy 3omry m3akest bent wala 7ad men so7aby 3akes odamy) Egypt is beautiful any way u should know that being out of the country ^^

  • i am in egypt, i have been in egypt for a year now and i am aware of the laws and charges that are being discussed about sexual harrassers. i just saw a discussion about in el 3ashera masa2an wiith mona el shazly.

i really hope it gets better .u know what is distrubing the most, the fact that in downtown cairo there are a lot of harrassers claiming that women arent dressed descent enough. yet when i go to north coast and marina, women are wearing bikinis everywhere..and no harrassments

  • well its just the mentalty low class tend to keep harrasing till they get their *** kicked but higher would say a word and shut up

i hope they understand that we are not western ad dressing decent some girls wants to be harassed i dont know why but some outfits are over the known limit

  • @amyragheb well probably 80% of wat u're saying is true...but still...i think u have lost every right 2 say bad things about cairo or egypt since u dont live in it any more & u chose 2 give up on ur country & live in another place...but dnt ever 4get...bad people r EVERYWHERE

  • @zamalkawya

i am in egypt right now..i have been here for more than a year now

bad ppl are everywhere, i know that but sexual harassment in egypt is on the rise comparing to other countries

  • @amyragheb YES BUT MANY WESTERN TOURISTS BEHAVE IN A BAD WAY.

They dress inapropriet..they are guest in a muslim country, not Miami beach.

I am not egyptian but the behaviour of western tourists make me ashamed.

  • @am1966ath well i do have a lot of foreign students in the American university and they dress well, yet we get harassed on every corner. i dont look like an egyptian and um a photographer so i carry my camera everywhere. and believe me the day i dont put my headphones on i hear things that make me sick.

i agree that some foreigners dress inappropriately, but egyptian woman who dress well suffer to.

  • @amyragheb I agree..harrassment is absoluteley the only bad thing I see in Cairo! I'm EG and I dated Americans(blond white) and they come back everyday with a harrassment story or sometimes crying!

However they said I feel safe walking at 3am there!

Good and bad are everywhere, cna you bare the bad and enjoy the good,...depends

  • @am1966ath Excuse me what islamic country are u talking about !

i am an egyptian muslim who sees no islam in this country !!!

even women in Niqab are harrased !!! Give me a break For God's Sakes!

  • @7omosa last time I was in Cairo, in 2008 the Islamic presence was very strong, that some egyptians are pushy and rude is just the way things are..you as an egyptian can however answer to rude behaviour in arabic...a western tourist has no idea whats it all about.

  • @am1966ath sorry, but it has nothing to do with western behaviours..no matter how you dress you whether or not you are egyptian for that matter.. if you are female you will be harrassed. it is a real and serious problem

  • @KukaColey You are probably right about that, Im not a female but in tourist-spots in Egypt like Hurghada your constantly harassed..scream and offers and yayala all the time.

The western culture is not so pushy, egyptians like to quarell from time to time..they are a hot tempered people.

  • @am1966ath I am referring to sexual harassment, not for sales, etc. Sales is easy to handle and can be laughed off and managed once you get used to it, but the sexual harassment only gets worse over time. • @KukaColey Im a man and have not been sexually harassed, neither in Cairo nor Hurghada but verbally abused yes, they think that I don t understand but I do..egyptians throws themselves at you and want to sell things, they also use ugly words like "Kusumuk" and "Ghahba". I didn t know that its involves egyptians themselves..many women in Cairo are heavy veiled, in 1963 in Cairo my mother saw very few veiled women in the streets today they are everywhere some as veiled as the women in Afganistan.

  • @am1966ath first of all if ur talking about the egyptians bad words i know its wrong but u find this everywhere the west is full of racial descrimnation and the hatred ofr the other and specially the arab moslems and the west have only bad words not the egybtians only and concerning the veil issue it is an islamic issue and personal freedom u dont have the right ti criticize it maybe u dont ike it or see it useless its ur own point of view and if u r civilized enough u have to respect the other

  • @venghft First of all, I have not commented on the veil, the veil do not disturb me at all..its a personal matter. What disturbs me is rude and agressive behaviour which the egyptians have a lot of, even your newspapper Al-Ahram admits that asians are friendlier than egyptians. The west is full of discrimination but the west is also full of muslims, I don t see so many europeans living in arab-muslim countries..the muslims in europe are welcome to leave if they don t like it.

  • @am1966ath i am egyptian girl and would like to tell you

yes there is harassment in cairo

i totally agree but have you ever tried to tell others who are in the street about those who harass u

i love my country and i want it to be better and one of these ways is just to admit that we have a problem

and by the way not only the tourists who has a problem

i want to say what is amazing about egypt is the people do not tll me that all you have met is people who harass you

  • @mahitabayoub first of all...harassments against tourists take place mostly in tourists areas..ouside of them you are quite safe...thee problem is that many tourists mistake curiosity and joke with harassment..egyptians are a very lively people, they quarell, joke, cry, laught and all in loud voices..many tourists who don t speak arabic don t know whats going on..unfortunately some egyptians can also be rude but on whole Cairo is a magnificent city with mostly very friendly people..after 3visists

  • @am1966ath i totally agree with you

  • yes u r rite ahmedads , and these parts are not even in cairo its the countyside poeple

  • Egypt Well there is just no place like it in the world but you have to live there to fall in love with it with its people even with its funny problems you face every day.

  • Alexander Siddig is grandson of al sadig al mahdi ex prime minister of sudan

  • some speech here are not right at all , impossible this children knew seinfeld

i swear the director want to show that religion is bad and not suitable for children to learn ,,,

the film is better than the making ............

  • i don't think u r right because ruba made movies for islam like adan

i didn't watch it but it's obvious that it is calling for islam

  • i love egypt 4 ever

  • @amr642 yea but the guy isnt egyptian

  • i am egyptian ... yes egyptian guys would stare to a tourist, but that scene at the begining of this video is so exaggerated ... the egypian countryside is traditional but not pretty islamic ... you would find more islamic fanatics more in cities ... this director is maniac, take for example the country woman who wants to show her face to the world to say i am here, i exist ..... totally pukingly unrealistic and kitchy

  • @racoofield I don't care where you are from... women have been invisible for far too long... and she is ready to be known, to be seen, to be recognized as equal with humanity....

  • @racoofield

maybe you idea but i also met such a woman myself , did you see the whole movie yourself.

i am gonna see it, it starts now in my country, i am just gonna see it for a look at egypt even it is just a love movie

  • @racoofield he's not egyptian

  • @racoofield

    fuck you litte jerk

  • the soundtrack is "Abdel Halim Hafez Ahwak"

  • Superb. Souvenir of a beautiful country, the country of my birth. I am reliving my youth. Thanks.

  • I loved the niqab scene when you guys were in the Saeed...beautiful..begad... :)

  • Very Nice :)

  • This video is so beautiful....

  • Abdel-Halim Hafez HAHA :)

  • Oh yeah that music was CRAZY GOOD... I can watch the movie just to listen to that soundtrack...

  • Wow!! I can't believe the unveiling of that woman got captured...that footage is more profound than most full length documentaries I've seen...again..wow..wow...wow...Rock on!!

Great work on the behind the scenes!!

  • Well, the niqab (covering of the face) is a pre-islamic tradition so she knows it's OK for her to show her face even if she's a devout muslim....

  • that's right, but probably you don't know Ruba Nadda..

watch her movie "Sabah" and you'll know what she's all about
