@Niteo99: i think your right but the bottom line here is, it doesnt have a CPU which make it cheap, what i dont like is the Vendor lock down. i.e. you will have to get thier server system.

I think there is some semantic bending going on here.
Aggregating disparate signals, analog or not, into something gets encapsulated into IP packets and/or Ethernet frames takes some sort of programming.
Programming requires processing to execute.
You say it's a Pano Logic 'chip' - but what's that mean?
Is this an OEM Microcontroller or DSP that has code hanging on the internal flash? Is it an ASIC? What?
