I reenact with a artillary peice here in indiana and we are going to 150th annnversary of gettysburg next year(2013). Shilohs 150th is this year on the battlefield. I been studying the civil war for the past 15 years and it never gets boring always something exciting about it.

i suggest you read the book they met at gettysburg by edward stackpole my favorite book and ive beeen to gettydburg twice ssuch beautiful gorund you cant believe there was a holocaust there so beautiful

General Robert E. Lee was foolish after General Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson died. If he had listened to the other high ranking Confederates, they might have won the battle at Gettysburg and maybe the entire civil war. Nevertheless, rest in peace all who perished in the civil war.

The problem isn't bureaucrats or the federal government so much as we've forgotten important details. For instance, we've forgotten we are all American, Democrat or Republican, socialist or libertarian, conservative or liberal. Whatever we are, we are all Americans but instead of working together we are at each other throats.

And we've allowed corporations and the rich minority to take power from us. we've been deceived into believing deregulation and small government is good.

Good Movie- I preferred Robt Duvall as Lee in Gods and Gen'ls- Sheen in some scenes made Lee seem slightly dreamily deranged. I love RELee but why so great a Gen'l gave such vague orders in this battle-I don't understand. Like to Ewell "Take the hill if practicable"

By the way where was Ewell in the movie? In the opening credits I saw the actor who was to portray him- but I never saw Ewell in the movie?  tHANK you VERY MUCH for uploading the movie.

Amatera8; thanks for down loading Gettysburg , some of the uploads were so brilliant that they were finished before they started ( by that i mean the scenes were so intense just as you got in to the action the upload finished and you were looking for the next upload ) ,again thankyou friend .

@MrZimJimSlim They do reenactments at Cedar Creek? I've driven past multiple times and have driving AROUND the battlefield and have found a few markers, but are you allowed to venture onto the actual battlefield?

@wvu3 Yes they do a cedar creek reenactment but i'm not sure if its on the actual battlefield if it is not though it is really close.

@MrZimJimSlim This year's reenactment is on the actual battlefield, in the next two year's though they will not be reenacting the Battle of Ceder Creek leading up to the 150th observance.

@MrZimJimSlim Yes it is! I've recently been on the website and was looking to see when the reenactment was and it said that it will be on the actual battlefield. I've done the reenactment several times before I don't remember if it has always been on the battlefield or not. I think it has been in the past. I havn't done the reenactment ina coule of years.
