This is exactly why the fields in my area have rules that state only one aircraft flying 3D at a time. If anyone wants to fly a pattern then the guy flying 3D either shifts to pattern flying, or lands. These guys should've been standing next to one another to communicate and both should've had spotters. I bet $1500 later they will be more careful next time.

Youre ignorant, Mid-airs happen. Regardless of style of flying whether it be pattern, 3d or anything else. I have seen more midairs from sport flying and warbirds than 3D. You can put 40+ 3d planes together without mid-airs. YES IT HAS BEEN DONE.

You know the risk of flying with someone, so you cant be mad if an accident was to happen. Thats not what the hobby is about. Its about doing someone thing you love and having fun doing it.
