theres so much musicianship in jazz, or whatever you wanna call this, but i can never seem to enjoy it.

Some Jazz isn't really "musical" as far real mathematical harmony is concerned, some aspects are a bunch of mishmash & improve all over the place. There is a lot players with ability in chords, scales etc. but no compositional discipline. There are a few talents but mostly I hear the same thing from many ppl, they just can't get into it or find it boring.

i know lots of jazz that isnt "musical" but i think it requires allot of talent to make something that isnt diatonic to sound good. i have fooled around with chromatics and whole tone scales n such and couldnt make it sound very good.

Music isn't that appealing when 'anything goes". A lot of jazz isn't popular simply bcus it doesn't sound good. Of all common musical styles I found jazz is the least liked, specifically fusion & especially by women.
