  • We owned a 25 ft. Piva Trimaran years ago when I was a kid. It was the fastest sailboat on the Long Islands Great South bay. 15 knots was no problem. I miss sailing like that. Would love to go sailing on a dragonfly 1200. I found our trimaran skated sideways a lot in rough seas. Tacking was a little scary with the waves at five feet on the ocean. But the damn thing always got us home. Hurricane Gloria smashed her to bits in 1985 86.

  • great boat ! more videos plz

  • Looks like perfect sailing conditions for a very fast boat. Is your Dragonfly a good boat in heavy conditions ( big waves and high seas )? I have a Dragonfly 800 MkII fixed wing (Vamos) in the south west of Australia which is good for moderate conditions and gets up above 15 knots quite easily.

  • I don't know. Biggest seas so far is 3 meter but quite short waves. Was not a problem, but we didn't have to tack. Find the boat easier to handle in those conditions than a 36" monohull. We need some wind to get 15 knots, but when the conditions are right it's great fun.
