Contrary to what some people might think, wild servals don't go round killing other servals and biting kid's faces of etc. Sure they hunt small vermin for food, but they don't attack unprovoked, and they're not feline killing machines. Large dogs like rotties and mastifs are way more dangerous.

What I've read is that savannah's generally only take well to rehoming when they are younger. And that apparently the lower the F# (closer to the original serval pairing) the cat is, the harder it is likely to be. On the other hand most canids/felines, genetically close to wild or not, are reasonably intelligent and sooner or later will recognize a good thing (home and companionship) when they are offered it. But that's not a given either.
