Howard's selling shit. he is a sentimental softie, and he's playing with everyone trying to make himself look cool and aloof. If Beth were to get a minor surgery, he'd be weeping by her side. Everyone knows that. besides these guys barely work nowadays anyhow.

I relaly have no problem with this. Howard is not being a dick. He's being himself and if you are a true fan, other than 9/11, Howard has never been reverent. He has always been shocking and offensive and this is him and Robin at their classic best.
