Since most of these people don't know jack about skateboarding here is something that will help.Whenever the rail or ledge is right in "FRONT" of your face that's called a Frontside Grind or boardslide. Whenever the obstacle is facing your back it's called a backside. The way you slide down(Forward or Backward) has nothing to do with the name it's the way you approach it.
