I love this song, but I can never hear this song (especially the part from 2:00-2:14) without thinking of the episode of Family Guy where Peter Griffin is in the studio singing the previous mentioned part of the song, then proceeds to start slapping the dude with the guitar while saying, "I'm singing! I"M singing!". :)
Does anyone know what happened to the proclaimers. you never hear about them anymore. I wasnt sure if they were dead or just fell off the face of the earth.
@jodyb11 1 hit wonders. Happens all the time. They're out by the pool living on royalties (which by the way, is a worthy ultimate goal... write a couple of songs and when the royalty checks start rolling in, grab you a towel. ;-) .
@Shamrockrancher the proclaimers are a huge and well respected band, with a unique sound. Very busy, with many albums and much loved here in Scotland and abroad by many.
@jodyb11 Hi, while Scotland is a small country, the proclaimers are massive here and much loved, thay have had many hits and albums and are very succesfull artists!
@InkStudiosVideo Because that is the proper written form of the song title. The lyrics repeat the phrase "..I'm gonna be" throughout the verses. During the chorus the line is "I would walk 500 miles"
@jenglynn9 What are you talking about? I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I never said anything in opposition to Scottish music. I am all for it!
@tessakib haha. Um, I guess that is good to know. I'm no Scotsman, but I have almost gotten to where I can actually talk with one. It comes from having grown up in a church where the pastor and his family were all pure scottish, and well I have a talent for picking up accents, so I had to add the brogue in!
Love that accent.
