  • HELLHAMMER.(now celtic frost) was awesome they shouldhave kept the name but tom warrior thought that hellhammer was such a cheesy album talentwise he changed the name to celticfrost which is cool . .anyhows

  • H E L LH A M M E R: Thomas Gabriel Fischer or Tom Warrior or "Satanic Slaughter", Martin Ain or "Slayed Necros" and Bruce Day or "Denial Fiend" or "Bloodhunter"

  • @lardlizard No Venom was

  • @SlayerMegadeth86 No. Black Sabbath create the darkness in metal.

  • anybody know of any tabs to this?

  • if venom came up with the term black metal to describe their music then they are black metal. the only black metal bands are venom, bathory and hellhammer/celtic frost. all those norwegian bands should have called themselves something else because they're not black metal, that's like saying possessed aren't death metal because death metal is heavier nowadays, it just doesn't make sense

  • @meslayerdeth I'm with you. All these new "Black Metal" bands are metal, but kinda ambiance metal. I mean it's metal, but not just flat out metal. I mean by the good example you laid out, I think Slayer should be black metal too. Their early stuff was pretty fucking dark and scary sounding.

I think the classic stuff like this is the real black metal. Not guys howling into a mic and guitars just holding out the same notes for 10 seconds.

  • @SLAYERMETALLICA357 yeah, exactly, not that i dislike the early norwegian bands such as mayhem, burzum, darkthrone etc. because i do really like those bands but, as you say, they aren't black metal

  • @meslayerdeth I agree

  • Slayer's earlier stuff were black metalish if you compare them with Venom Early Sodom, Bulldozer, Early Onslaught etc... and if you compare some todays "Blackened Thrash" you'll see that most of those bands like Trench Hell, Apocalyptic Raids, Devastator,Cruel Force, Old, Grave Desecrator, Blasphemophagher, Nocturnal Blood don't belong in the fusion genre category. Blackened Thrash was formed in the mid 90's but some of the today's "Blackened Thrash has 80's sound and not the mid 90's sound.

  • @meslayerdeth Seven Churches was more Black Metal than Death trust me

  • @666deathghost lyrically it was more black than death and quality wise it was as well but it's considered death metal in general and considered the first death metal album, i would say it's kind of a combination of both to be honest but who cares either way, it's a brilliant album

  • @meslayerdeth Not even the lyrics but in terms of riffage and atmosphere it disses out. First Wave Black creates that evil feel that Death Metal couldn't do, People would tend to call that album thrash just because of the Hardcore and Speed Metal riffs but Black Metal Is made up of 40% 80's Hardcore "Amebix" 30's Speed, and some bands had NWOBHM influences live Mercyful, Fate Bulldozuer, Early Onslaught, and you already know Venom's Welcome to hell and "Black Metal.

  • Hellhammer macabre existence represents the darkest extreme metal that echoes blasphemeis until nowadays...AVE HELLHAMMER!(since ´94)

  • i think Hellhammer and early Celtic Frost laid down the blue prints for later death/black metal bands to come... Even if they are thrash by today's standerds

But even this is pretty extreme to be thrash don't you think ?

Wouldn't metallica and megadeth be considered thrash ?

Would you really put Hellhammer and early celtic frost in a catagory with Metallica, megadeth and slayer ?

  • yum yum yum yum

  • venom came up with the term, but they sure weren't the pioneers of the genre.

  • @whoreofthedevil lmao, they INVENTED black metal, man. Tom will tell you that this was just a slowed down version of VENOM.

  • i only listened to first wave black-metal, and i considered venom fully black-metal, i dont consider them pure black-metal before, because im really getting into norweigan blackmetal

  • i fvcking love this song i so evillllllll !! hail Hellhammer Hail Celtic Frost , from Peru

  • I respect new black metal bands, but I can live my life without hearing or seeing a new black metal band live since I've seen Celtic Frost, I believe that seals the deal of true black metal music!

  • das war noch musik !! anders wie der scheiss heute.

  • @SlayerMegadeth86 naaaah...i would say black sabbath are the FIRST creators of "darkness in metal"

  • the original version of "necromantical scream" by Celtic Frost..........

    EPIC!!!!!

  • K-I-C-K-A-S-S

  • IS IT POSSIBLE FIND HELLHAMMER LIVE (BEGINNINGS)????????????????

  • stop arguing over venom vs. hellhammer they are both amazing so shut the fuck and enjoy the damn music

  • And Venom released the demo for the song Black Metal in 1979...

  • @ Blastitwithpiss Correction....Venom can be considered the first Black Metal Band, The First Thrash Metal Band and the First Death Metal Band. They set the pace for every metal band that came out after them. Also the lines between the sub-genres of metal have become so blurred that is doesn't matter anymore. It's not emo so SHUT THE FUCK UP AND ENJOY THE FUCKING METAL!!!!

  • Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Venom, Bathory... First Black Metal bands ! I love it !

  • RUSTED METAL, HEAVY METAL FROM LONG TIME AGO AND STILL HEAVY AS HELL, CLASSIC METAL NEVER DIES IT JUST GETS BETTER... some frassess used by Metalheads to these Bands....

  • I appriciate the responces, i do, well said! I understand your point of view(ecept A-hole ih8)! Venom and Hellhammer are my favorite heavy bands from 1980 on, But nobody shocked the world with heavy like Venom first did. To me, if someone likes it, it's good! I will never understand how someone would think Venom Sucks but Hellhammer is so much better.based on what you moron, how you feel about it or is it musical talent. Out of all the members of both bands, Mantis is the one with true skill!

  • I love Hell Hammer but exfuckingcuse me, VENOM was before the Hammer, VENOM is and always will be the best and first Black Metal band!!! Venom put forth their first album in 1981, When was Hell Hammer's first lp? I can't believe all the uneducated morons who comment what they think are facts! VENOM was playing black metal when most youtube watchers were still a stain in their fathers underware!

  • @METALIZE1 How can a stain impregnate a woman?

  • @METALIZE1 Well most people don't consider Venom black metal. Yes, they invented the term, but when I thinkof Black Metal, I think of Celtic Frost/Hellhammer, Bathory, early Sodom and Kreator, and Darkthrone, and Mayhem. STuff like that. I consider Venom basically a mix of thrash and speed metal, so Venom is basically extreme metal.

  • @METALIZE1 Have you actually listened to the album Black Metal? Can you honestly call that Black Metal? It's thrash, and in fact it should be recognized as one of the earliest thrash record not the earliest Black Metal. Hellhammer is the first BM metal band musically. And the first band to put out an album for the Second gen was Sacrofago (1987) with INRI (Mayhem's deathcrush was a Demo/EP so it's iffy. I also think it's a peice of shit album. Absolutly terrible)

  • @ih8makinusernames

Listen to the melodies on Black Metal, and even Possessed. It paved the way for the sound of Black Metal, even if it wasn't pure black metal, or what you kiddies call black metal today.

But it we're gonna be anal, since Venom coined the term, whatever THEY play is Black Metal.

    >I also think it's a peice of shit album. Absolutly terrible)

All opinions disregarded, go choke on a million cocks.

  • @blastitwithpiss Black Metal is a fucking thrash album. It has little to no resemblence to the musical style of Black Metal. Theoretically, if Iron Maiden had released an album called "Death Metal" whilst still playing NWOBHM would everyone instantly call them the first death metal band? I didn't think so. I can call a chicken and turkey but in the end it's still a chicken.

I also forget it's not allowed to insult the oh so amazing Mayhem. Purists....

  • good song

  • this song is similar to triumph of death i mean the first riff of the song

  • this song is similar to triumph of death

  • Awesome song!!!!!!!!!!! For you fyi @chaclapa Metallica did not influence Black Metal, Venom did with their over the top album Welcome To Hell from 1981. Blue cheer, Creem and a few other bands suprised people with a new heavy sound. Black Sabbath laid down the path for all bands you hear from 1970 to this day. Punk rock(in the mid 70's) like Sex Pistols, Black Flag ect took music to a faster level. The next new heavy was Motorhead 1977 then the ultimate heavy VENOM. Nothing new since then!!!

  • Awesome song!!!!!!!!!!!

  • My first "meeting" with Hellhammer, it was by buying Apocalyptic Raids.Just their name, the cover and a EP with that cool albumname had to be good, so I bought it without listening & have followed Tom W. since. Its funny to listen to the parts of this song, that later was released with Celtic Frost (Necromentical screams) perfected in the second version. This sounds like a demotape but its Old School as Hell.

Eventhough Norway is my neighbours, Im Danish, I have 2 say= Hellhammer is the Pioneers!

  • @SickMetalVideos Haha, good eye!

  • @SickMetalVideos tten?

  • Comment removed

  • @SickMetalVideos Oh, yeah... ;]

  • The absolute essence of black metal. Darkness and death in its purest form, the way it should be still nowadays... but shit, I'm dreaming. If anyone ever invents a time machine, I'll volunteer as a test person... to the year 1983!

  • Only deað is real.

  • Nobody is heavier than H E L L H A M M E R !

  • i almost like them more then CF HELLHAMMER has inspired so many great bands them and BATHORY are my all time BM bands

  • VENI SPIRITVS SATANAS

  • i was choking on a noodle while listening to this and i realized i wanted this to be played at my funeral.

  • This is good as fuck, no matter what any trendy ass poser bitch says.

  • FUCK YA!!!

  • omg I fuckin love that riff...

  • makes me want to punch a baby in the face

  • Sounds like riffs from Necromantical screams at times.lol

  • AND THE LYRICS TOO

  • AND THE LYRICS TOO

  • AND THE LYRICS TOO

  • Oh yes, Happy Halloween and thanks for posting. :)

  • Even though this is not meant to be psychedelic rock I find this very trippy indeed

in an extremely dark, dirty, evil way and I'm loving it.

  • This is the re-recorded song from the album Originally.

  • 16 people are now buried and forgotten...

  • Only death is real you stupid motherfuckers!

  • u truly cant beat old school hail HELL HAMMER

  • traitors and cunts are buried and forgotten

  • For all of you metal historians, this was Tom Warrior's first band that eventually turned into Celtic Frost. Classic stuff.

  • @ChefDBuck Grave Hill was actually Tom Warrior's first band.

  • yay!

  • sweet sweet music to my evil ears

  • FUCK YEAH!!! THIS PAVED THE WAY FOR THE CRAPPY MUSIC OF TODAY.AND DONT YOU FORGET IT YOU FUCKERS WHO TALK SHIT.

  • Veni Spiritus!!!

  • @Veinen401 Satanas!!!!

  • Hail 80's .HellHammer = True Black Metal banging !

  • If you like Hellhammer you should eheck out Warhammer. Theyre essentially a Hellhammer tribute band, perfect for those to whom Hellhammer didnt last long enough.

  • @crowbarftw also dark thrones album panzerfaust...pure hellhammer worship.

  • Now this is what I call black metal!

  • that fucking riff is deadly dude, fuckin 80's black metal

  • this is the legit real deal here ay

  • The way metal is supposed to be - rough. This is unpolished, authentic, honest sound.

  • @crowbarftw check out until the light takes us and u will see how they made their black metal music that good, suckish amplifier and microphones :P

  • @crowbarftw YES! RAW AND EVIIIL!!!!!!!

  • SATANAS!!!

  • Venom?

  • i dont know bout your opinion, but for me as a thrasher, Hellhammer 100000000 times more than Celtic Frost

  • @alfonz007

    Yeah Man!!!

    100% agree with you!

    Helhammer> CF

  • @alfonz007 Yeah dude, I'd agree with that. At least hellhammer were more consistent in their short existence whereas Frost pussified by the 3rd album. I still love Morbid Tales and To Mega Therion though.

  • Hellhammer are the true gods of darkness.... Read "Only Death is Real," look at the photos, and realize that they came up with all of this on their own, 10 years before "black metal" became the cool thing to be...

  • @jholt71 in my opinion Mayhem are a lot more "dark" , scuicide murder and church burning pretty beats all else if you ask me.Also Venom were the first black metal band

  • @jholt71 in my opinion Mayhem are a lot more "dark" , scuicide murder and church burning pretty much beats all else if you ask me.Also Venom were the first black metal band

  • What does church burning & Murder/Suicide have anything to do with the music being more "dark"?

This is way before all that..

  • @TheCreech1990 Venom was never Black Metal.

  • @MiT03II you idiot venom was the very first black metal band

  • @bizarewigga You idiot they named their album Black Metal, but they're not Black Metal.

They're trash metal, if I'm not mistaken; and are also pioneres of Black Metal.

  • @MiT03II They are credited with Thrash metal, Black metal, and Extreme metal genres in general.

  • @MiT03II they created Black Metal you idiot- how can they not be Black Metal ?

  • @TheCreech1990 Venom never created black metal. They created an album called "Black Metal" and were the first band to encompass the lyrical themes of Satanism that would later inspire the black metal bands such as Mayhem, Darkthrone etc. At the time they could have been considered 'black metal', but by today's standards they are thrash metal and have always considered themselves as such.

  • LMGDAO @ Nerds fuck yeah. Ave Satanas fuck jesus the butt pirate

  • One of my early influences on my music, keep rocking tom.

  • Sounds like the Vines!!

  • Fag

  • i have a small penis im more hardcore than you! whatcha gonna say now, ya big fakerrr

  • i have a small penis too!!!!! coincidence? no... someone or something is trying to make us be united!

  • @xXxThrasH80xXx lol. only penis is real

  • gotta love this vintage shit

long live Hellhammer and Celtic Frost (Though the new T. Warrior project looks promising)

  • i only love the first wave of black metal. this band fucking rules.

  • they suck since cold lake

  • @Crosell Meh Monotheist was pretty good.

  • @Crosell Because you know, music is a fact.

  • haha yeah^^ well you may like monotheist but fact is, that their early stuff is still the best

  • @Crosell Most definatly

  • hey. thankx to whoever posted this. for years have longed to hear the Hellhammer demos. only wish we had the lyrics.

  • Yo I can't beleive that no one has noticed that this is Celtic Frosts necromantical screams. Love this early raw demo shit from what? 1984 or '83 Fucking raw real metal fuck all the new jack faggots

  • @northblooduchc ..thats it...almost the same notes...but ....this is better than necromantical screems ´cause it´s unwrought and brutal ...oahhhhhh

  • Epic

  • the most underrated first wave of black metal band ever .

  • hhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeellllllhhhhhaameeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr( to sem criatividade hoje)

  • Er, "TNBM", oops, lol!!

  • Mayhem, Venom, King D/Merc-Fate, Bathory, HELLHAMMER, Celtic Frost, Sodom, Emporer, Enslaved are the pioneers of "Black" Metal. All of whom had influences such as Sabbath, Maiden and the likes. All HAIL "TNMB"!!

  • yeah i think metallica atleast when dave was in it was influenced by venom

  • God damn! Ashamed to admit, this is the first I've heard of Hellhammer; but it certainly shall not be the last! In love with those riffs!

  • I know im gonna get alot of thumbs down

But i do believe that alot Metal genres where inspired by underrated doom metal(death and groove metal)

  • Venom started in 2009??????????

What about Bathory, Death SS, Sodom, Sarcofago???

  • See now now this is the real way of black metal....a dark and scary beat, not this new age peice of shit

  • i made the bassist in my band listen to this (he listens to mostly doom metal) and he almost shit his pants

  • doom sounds ( atleast to me) like black and thrash put together.

  • some doom does i guess, but a lot of doom came out in the 70s, and i think that early black sounds like a bastard son of doom and punk or something

  • Well, not just doom but old school metal in general, Sabbath, Priest, Motorhead, the NWOBHM etc, and for sure some early black metal had certain punk influences, Cronos liked Sex Pistols and Sham 69 as well as Sabbath, Priest or Motorhead, Quarthon liked GBH, and many of the early black, thrash and even death bands were into Discharge.

  • Traditional doom is influenced by Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Candlemass, Witchfinder General etc and has its roots in the pre thrash metal era. But much of the modern metal classified as "doom" would at least be influenced by early Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Anathema and the whole doom/death scene, which was influenced by Celtic Frost, Slayer or even early Autopsy as much as Sabbath or Candlemass.

  • point taken. i was origanilly just saying that there is what you can consider doom such as Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Witchfinder General, ect. were around way before black metal. also, those are the bands i think of when i thinks doom too, along with stoner/sludge bands like sleep, saint vitus, and electric wizard.

  • wow...so this is the spawn of CF 's necromatical screams..so raw and heavy..HAIL

  • sathanas!!!!

    ha i love these foos

tom gabriel fischer has three bands

    hellhammer

    celtic frost

    n

    triptykon

  • how was it not around, venom came out with the name in 82. bathory, hellhammer, celtic frost, and mercyful fate were around too

  • @petasucks1 Venom formed in 1979 & their first album was in 1981, them, Metallica, and Iron Maiden have an influence on almost every band

  • Comment removed

  • @chaclapa what i said about Venom is that they released a album called "black metal" in 1982 not that it was the year they formed and that is the source of the genre's name. i'm not sure how many black metal bands were influenced by Metallica but i'm not to sure that many were influenced by Maiden. Quorthon himself said he didn't like Maiden. if you are repling to the post i think you are, what i was telling someone some black metal bands from the early 80's because they said BM wasn't around

  • this is 10,000 times heavier than the shit that deathcore kids listen to. the lyrics and music actually make me feel like i'm in a fuckin graveyard. spooky stuff. hellhammer are gods.

  • @timninerell hellyeah HELLHAMMER IS THE SOUND OF DEATH!!! =D

  • I always wondered what Hellhammer sounded like . I have a lot of Celtic Frost cds . It's hard to find this heavy music here in Detroit .FFFFFFUUUUUUUCK!!!!!!!

  • Nerds insulting Hellhammer shall be raped by flames of Hellspawn.

  • haha well said mate^^

  • That's the gayest comment I've ever read.

    Hellhammer sucks.

  • @dirthpool You weak little man. Pathetic describes you, bitch tits.

  • @ebonics4everyone Hahahaha! Bitch tits- I like that.

  • @ebonics4everyone Thats some kinky shit

  • Any piece of crap insulting Hellhammer is obviously too fucking pussy.

    So die.

  • what cuontry are they from nd the relationship whith venom?? Could you tell me? Cause its awesome!!

  • um, if it didnt occur to you, this music isnt supposed to make you comfortable. the whole point of black metal was to hit the wrong nerve to weed out the close-minded. Open your ears, open your eyes, and keep your mouth shut.

  • Black metal was trying to weed out the closed-minded?

Wow, it was sure successful at that! Not.

  • Shut up, you can't even spell correctly!

  • hellhammer is in my opinion pretty good to me. and any one who wants to take the time and insult my opinion can go fuck urself cuz u have no life and no friends.

  • well, in 1983, it sounded modern ^^

  • fucking awesome

  • komisch aber wohl
