can someone confirm this information? Verizon website states 720p video capability, but there are many reviews out there that state 480p video capability...
I have the phone now, and I don't know why you or anyone else is claiming that it can shoot in (medium-)HD (720 lines). How did you upload it in a higher resolution than the phone has--and what point would there be to that?
At the maximum--and I know this because I've looked in the settings--mine only shoots at 720 x 480. That is not HD. HD video is at least 1280 x 720. So either you uploaded it at a higher resolution than it really has, or there's a higher version of the phone.
...or you got mixed up on which model you were using and thought you uploaded a video from the Stratosphere but had a Charge in your hand instead, or something like that. Well, this video looks kind-of HDish, almost like a Charge video sample I watched.
(But Samsung Charge doesn't have a physical keyboard. What I'd like is a phone with a physical keyboard and touchscreen, *and* that can shoot in HD!)
What I want to know is why some sources are saying that this phone can only shoot BQ SD (640 X 480). Hmm... that doesn't make sense, since what we see here from that model is really 1280 X 720, just as you say! Oh, I'm glad. Yeah, too bad it doesn't do 1920 X 1080, but this is still very good! Heck, it's just a cell phone! Pretty dang good for that!
Of course if I could get a 1920 X 1080 cell phone with a real keyboard, I would do it!
Whow, that is some of the best video I've seen from a cell phone! It will be a MAJOR jump from my cell phone that can only shoot 176 X 144 video! Jumping from not even *half* of broadcast-quality SD, skipping right over BQ SD (640 X 480) and into medium-HD! I'd say that's pretty great! I can't wait for my new phone!
(I haven't seen 1080 cell phone video yet, but my regular video camera can shoot it. I'll have to do more web searching, but it probably won't be too hard to find.)
Yeah. It looks like IntoMobile tricked YouTube, and pointlessly too, because unless there's some kind of revised HD version of this model of phone, sadly it really doesn't shoot in HD.
