it drives me nuts when people talk about European health care like they know what they are talking about!!! the sad thing is that these scare tactics work and people like stutgartman629 regurgitate them unfoundedly! I live in Europe and it would seem to me that if it didnt work that every Western country (besides America) would use private health insurance instead! But these governments see the bigger picture- HEALTH CARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT NOT A BUSINESS! USA health care = why i dont move back!

@Weegorgeous I am tempted to move to Europe! Even if I have to pay more in taxes, i'd rather have health care than not. Those that seem to complain about "socialist" healthcare are people who have never ever had a serious illness or ever been poor or lost their job and couldn't find work. When they find themselves in those situations, they then say "boy, am I glad Welfare and foodstamps exists"!! Hypocrites!

This kind of mentality is disturbing. Can't afford health care, you're simply left behind like a piece of garbage. And we're the most powerful country in the world and about every 1 person out of 6 don't have coverage. You'd rather died with no coverage at all, or at least you have coverage and see a doctor even if you have to wait a bit. I know what I'd take.

Emergency care is given to those with or without health insurance. Public health care is worse, everyone gets limited care, not only those who can't afford it. Public healthcare works so poorly that in countries like england that there are budding private healthcare companies.
