A bit too windy for the irish whistle. You are trying too hard. Good on interpretting the son, but you are either trying to hard, or you haven't tuned the whistle.
@Falcon6977 What a fucking ass hole you are Falcon6977. This guy is making beautiful music with nothing more than a tin whistle and all you can do is put him down. I looked up your you tube profile and found that you do nothing but make nasty comments about other people, what a looser you are ! But you are a Republican after all and as we know Republicans do nothing but criticize and have nothing to offer the world. You sound stupid too, just like Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann.
@allthatfun Woah?! Overreact much? At least he's not one of those trolls who always posts stuff like "GAY" or something like that. I've seen worse comments than that. And you have no way of knowing if he's a Republican. Speaking as a Democrat, I know that Republicans can be quite radical, but they're not all evil.
@kandstrom I totally disagree with you about Republicans most of the "new breed" of Republicans are evil. I have seen worse comments but this guy really pissed me off and after I saw several of his other posts I realized all he does is make nasty comments rather than be supportive. By the way he does post "GAY" on several of his other posts and he states that he is a Republican as well.
Would you please share the notes in ABC format or share the music sheet with higher resolution so I could read it as I am not that expert in reading the music notes.
This version is nice and screen accurate too. Hard to find sheet music for this. Could you please point me to the right one? The one on whistle shop is all wrong. It doesn't make use of the second octive let alone the third.
I am currently in the process of learning to play the tin whistle, and this is the song that inspired me to, I have a Susato D. So far I need a lot of work, could you tell me how long it took you to master this song, how long it took you to reach this level on the instrument, and what tips might you have for a beginner?
Excellent Michal, very nicely done. Do you use a high or low D tin wistle? Also do you have any videos of you playing this wonderful tune. For teaching purposes. Keep up the great work.
Nice but everyone misses that ending he plays when the enterprise flies off in space and you hear the eerie ending part to the song inner light which really makes it great
Ijust want to say you did a excellent job...that was truly beautifully played. I love listening to all types of flute music. I play the Traditional Native American Flute. Thank you !
great JOB man that was great! I have a question where is the sheet music that you said that was on the right please tell me!! Thanks Agin that was perfect!!
For two days I am goin to post sheet in info of this vid. I was working on other version from midi but I have on time and I decided post the same version like this in my vid. Be patient for 2 days
I have the episode 'Lessons' open in VLC and I can tell you, you nailed this song nearly exactly. Somebody needs to post a piano duet like they did on that episode. It is an amazing melody.
I havent tried recording my music yet..but when I play my whistle in the second and third octaves its so LOUD and id be worried about it distorting through the microphone do you use any special filters? Or just a camera and rip the audio?
Is simple, I record tune on my mp3 player in wave format, than convert to mp3 stereo 2 channel and edit in music editor, sometimes I change volume (if it is loud)
Learned by ears: I wrote sheet notation for you A G F# D2 D2 E2 A2 F#2 E2 B2 A2 G2 F#2 D2 B A G F# D2 D2 E2 A2 F#2 B3 C#3 D3 C#3 B3 C#3 A3 B3 B3 C#3 D3 C#3 B3 A2 F#2 B3 A3 D2 E2 B2 A2 G2 F#2 D2 B F# E D A B C#2 D2 E2 F#2 B B C#2 D2 C#2 B C#2 A A G F# D2 D2 E2 A2 F#2 E2 B2 A2 G2 F#2 D2 B A G F# D2 D2 E2 A2 F#2 B3 C#3 D3 C#3 B3 C#3 A3 B3 B3 C#3 D3 C#3 B3 A2 F#2 B3 A3 D2 E2 B2 A2 G2 F#2 D2 B 2 means note on the second octave, 3 note on third octave
Fitting his sheet music through my alto recorder is going to be tricky, but worth it.

Just lovely :) I 'm trying to learn it but I know the D whistle is the wrong key. What is the right key?
lisalou1509 1 year ago
@lisalou1509 It is originally played on a D whistle. Cheers.

The key of D is correct.

Glad to hear it on a tin whistle since that's the instrument used for the tone of Picard's flute.

Beautifully played, Michael!
My only complaint would be the audio quality of the file you uploaded. Some kind of low popping static, which is a little distracting.
You play this very well, in any case. It's an inspirational piece, and I love your performance. =3

it's nice, song is simple to learn on tin whistle, I'll keep fingers crossed and waiting for your version :)
michal18c 2 years ago
How do you use the Third Octave on the Tin Whistle? Are the fingerings the same as the other octaves but you blow different?
sil40Drift 2 years ago
Third octave = You must blow more than on the second octave, it's simple but also more noisy
michal18c 2 years ago
I am watching the episode now, I was immediately struck by how beautiful it was, especially in that room which made the sound even more touching!
I wonder if it was the room or the director somehow added in that resonance, I sure would love to hear it in an amplified form!
