I wonder how many guys dissing saturn haven't drove one in thier life. they handle like a dream, though understeer is an issue like any front wheel drive. no they don't have low end torque like v8 guys like but who cares.
I got to drive this car to Columbus in 2004. you can go to foxmarketing, it was built in 2004. It looked so much better after they finished it, not in this video. Twistec was right next door to my house and Jeff let me go down to Columbus with it. I have no idea where it is now, but it was so much fun to drive, except over any bumps or ramps. The host is Brian Fox, owner of Fox Marketing.
The reasons Saturn's are rated as "unreliable" is because people beat the shit out of them. I know guys with first gen TBI Saturn's that see redline every day. Do you think it's going to break? Saturn was made for younger drivers who don't even know how to change tires, let alone oil. If they're taken care of they last over 300k without problems. There are plenty of documented cases of that, but it's one of those either/or cars where they had a good owner and last or they die early.
@pepene93 I hear ya, I was taking care of cars when I was that age too, but the vast majority of people who drive Saturn's really don't care enough (or know how) to take care of them.
EVERY car is a pile of shit, no exceptions, all of them are built as cheaply as possible and shit does break regardless.
Yes, youre allowed to express your opinions, but you shouldnt express them unless you know what youre talking about, wich in this case you dont. GM uses the same engine all through their company, this includes chevy, pontiac, saturn, and all the other GM companies that i cant remember at the time.
Did I say anything about the "saturn engine"? No, I know that. If you know anything about how large automotive companies work you know that. Saturn's however do have their own special problems and design flaws. I know because I'm a Saturn owner. And yes all cars are going to break regardless, no fucking duh, however that doesn't make all cars pieces of shit it just means that they all have a shelflife. Just because one person thinks my opinion is invalid doesn't make it, so go fuck yourself :).
All cars are heaps of garbage, everyone single one of them has flaws to it, some are more noteable then others, the reason being for this is because now-a-days theres a standard MPG rating the car HAS to have in order to be produced, using plastic peices for valve covers and low-grade material for things like motor mounts and bushings, not only cuts back on the cost to make one and improves MPG, but it all comes as a sacrifice to longevity.
I suppose that's why Honda Civics and Accords can rack up 200,000+ miles with their plastic intake manifolds right? Jeez all those plastic parts really sacrifice longevity, man. On the other hand, solid American cars like the 2003 Cadillac Deville Northstar last forever; their head gaskets, A/C blowers, and window regulators are not problems at all. Yep, having to replace a Northstar engine or spend $5,000 just for blown headgaskets is the definition of longevity.
@Spockkker I'd still rather buy american, at least when it breaks you're not paying an arm and a leg for repair costs and the Toyota's not accelerating outta control and trying to kill you. I love my Saturn and will have another one. Forget imports, buy American.
Considering the fact that cars last between 15-30 years, i think Your opinion = invalid. Your xbox 360 will eventually break too, at which point your mom will undoubtedly buy you a new one. And in regard to your second paragraph, follow your own advice and keep your mouth shut. GM does not use the same engines in all model lines, as all S-Series Saturns had unique I4 motors, throughout the production run.
..I dont drive a honda and i dont own a 360.. Where you came up with that out of what i said is beyond me... When i posted this a long time ago i drove a saturn also.. a 93 SL1 to be exact and i beat the shit out of that thing daily and loved the car... I wasnt downing Saturn at all and im not exactly sure where you read that in either of my posts...
Yeah i was a little inebriated that night. New saturns do use GM motors, which is why i won't ever buy one. I was also pissed off about another person ripping on saturns and then talking about how cool his "evo and STi that's getting (ha, um, all sti's are boosted) a turbo are.

Actually Scion, Toyota and Honda are the most reliable cars on the market.
Actually almost all top 10 most reliable are Asian.
