  • Which 5 disliked this awesome video!? They are monsters! T_T

  • This game deserved a movie, FF7 deserved a remake. Damn You SquareEnix!

  • Wow... O_O I was expecting the generic vocaliod... but DAMN! This was beautiful!

  • LOL

Celes has a male voice... why you used the male twin as voice hehe funny

  • @SentaiQueen Is that a male voice?

  • omfg tht was so gorgeous!!! T^T is tht rly a computer? the voice sounds so real, is it a real person singin or wot?

  • @AerithRosa It's called a VOCALOID. In particular this voice bank is called MEIKO. If you want to know more about it there's a ton of links on the side here -->

Basically you can make the computer sing anything you type in.

  • I always cry at this part and also ( SPOILERS)

At World of Ruins when she thought everyone died and jumped off the... ><

  • So who cried? Come on, admit it. I did, that's for sure.

    SO damn beautiful.

  • imagine how epic this part would be on the ps3 or 360 o.O that would be so awesome to get a remake of this game :3

  • @zshippozx

    keep it for 3DS =)

  • If they are gonna remake this game I have three demands:

*keep the heart and soul intact, no commercial bull please

*don't obsess with tedious cutscenes everywhere, nobody is interested in five-minute long unskippable sequences for every single plot part

*keep Ted Woolsey's translation, it has too much charm to just be blantantly removed in favour of some "more literal" translation which probably will turn out extremely boring in comparison.

  • @Laurelindo Ted Woolsey's translations were for the most part left intact since they were rather accurate, with the exception of swearing replaced with creative lines. sadly, "Son of a submariner" was replaced by "Son of a sandworm" (Kefka simply dropped an S-bomb in the Japanese version). the opera lyrics were beautifully redone so they match the melody (you can actually sing along like with the Japanese version now)

  • @KinCryos The opera lyrics were redone well, it's just when new translations focus too much on translating word-for-word with no own ideas that annoys me sometimes.

That's what I liked about Ted Woolsey in this game - he added another feel to the translated script, which is actually very important because a line in Japanese will sometimes sound weird in English if it is literally translated.

  • Please Square, listen my prayer... remake this amazing masterpiece on ps3 !

  • so cute :')

  • One of the best versions of this song. A+++ would listen again.

  • kyaa!!

love this scene , and more with vocaloid *¬*

  • The vocaloid sings it the way I imagined it to be. Celes wasn't a professional opera singer so as much as I love the orchestrated live performances of this song with the powerful singers.. this version, her voice sounds sweet and young like I think it's supposed to!

  • Do the lyrics actually show up on the screen like that in the game, or have they been edited in?

  • They appear, even in the US version.

  • First vocaloid ever? :D

  • O.O ! My favorite moment of FFVI, with vocaloid is just simply astonishing me ...

Square MUST remake this game, but not a crappy remake, a solid one... To make people understand how great this game and its music is !

  • If they remade FFIV on the DS, I'm sure that Square-Enix is going to remake FFV and surely FFVI. If not for the DS, then it will have to be a nicer remake like on the PS3 or PSP. Keep your chin up and hope for the best! =)

  • The last time it was released was as a GBA port.

Unfortunately, I missed out, because nobody was selling GBA games any more by that time...

  • That really bites. I guess it's all just a matter of timing and having the money at the right time. If not the GBA port, then a few more years down the line, a possible FFVI DS remake should be coming along. Whatever system it comes out on, you can bet I'll be there getting it! The GBA port was pretty good in terms of translation, but you know that they always seem to make it a little more clean in translation (i.e, not as much curse words, etc). But yeah! I'm sure you won't miss out next time!

  • Awesome. Even in the original where's it's "La"s, it was amazing.

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN! THANK YOU MY FRIEND.

(And yes, VI is the best one of the series.)

  • Hm..Intriquing.

  • Gotta say, I'm a die hard FFVI fan. This scene was moving, even when the singing was just "Wuu wuu wuu wuuuu", so to see it done on vocaloid is a real treat, kudos!

  • Wow. This is the first I've heard an actual vocaloid. That's so cool. That's nice to hear the Japanese.

  • where can i download an mp3 of this song?

this is pure awesomeness and win

  • ^_^'

Try looking foer youtube MP3 extractor on google

  • Aw, very sweet. The voice actress did a pretty nice job.

  • Voice actress? From what I understand, this is a computer program being used to synthesize singing.

  • Really? I thought it was some sort of cover. They did a good job then.

  • The Vocaloid's voice actress. Vocaloids are basically programs that reproduce notes and syllables previously recorded. When you type the lyrics and melody, they sing.

  • MEIKO does not have a voice actress. Her voice was modeled after someone's,but it was made by computer.

  • Notice how it sounds close to Aeris' theme.

  • haha yeah

I played ff7 first so when I got to this part I shat brix

  • The same was with me this one blows 7 away

  • wow, it melted my heart, sounds great.

  • FF VI is the greatest.

  • oh my hero .... sniffffff

    dont u agree ?????

  • THEY MUST MAKE A ENGLISH VERSION!

  • dude, they have one

  • where :(?

  • Its off of the Album "More Friends: Music From Final Fantasy"

  • actually, it's the other way around.

Aeris's theme is a modified version of Celes's theme. In fact, some of FF6's soundtrack had been remade into future Final Fantasy's music.

For example, the music that is played when you are on the airship on both FF6 and FF7 and possibly FF8 (The ragnarok) are almost similar.

It's not that Square isn't creative enough. They are making full use of the potentials that their previous songs can do.

  • Uematsu has done so much awesome music that it's allowed to use couple of songs again.

  • miku: its nice when i voice dub as celes.

  • T_T That's EPIC.

I MUST try and play these classic FF games...

  • the voice actress os miku is 100% better with celes or terra in an ff6 ds remake. miku's voice is cute too.

  • wow that was cool ^_^

  • i fucking swear i almost cried at 0:57 ;O;!!!

  • ZOMG ME TOO!! ; 3;

  • ahh shit this makes me remember, even back then I was emotional.

  • I love that drama song!

  • Brilliant.

  • OH SHIZ!

    thats real! nice vocaloid there!

    PROPS!!!!

  • Man i so wish i could get this on mp3, its just to good

  • Such a beautiful song made even more beautiful.

  • Nicely done. I say this is the second best scene in the Final Fantasy series. First is Revealed Truth in FFX.

  • Yay, the best FF6 song got even better!

  • this is so much better O.O

    Dx

i have no problem translating at all :D

  • I like this one a lot better than the Hatsune Miku version...*o*

  • This isn't Hatsune Miku. I'd recognize the voice of my digital goddess. Its someone else entirely.

  • I believe its sang by Meiko, the 1st vocaloid.

  • kay mayb not the 1st but one of the earlier version xD

  • This..is awesome.

  • Wow, this is really good work. I messed around with Vocaloid for about an hour and got frustrated and gave up ;)

  • MEIKO(VOCALOID)?

  • is this the same program as Hatsune?

    the voice sounds more mature.

  • what if miku voice act as celes?

  • That is just...wow. And a computer program did all that singing? It's hard to believe, but it's amazing!

  • that's a powerful tool.

    Really interesting results

  • nice, how about the english version next? XD

  • Well done, I love it.

  • is this song original?

  • wow.

  • 面白い試みですね。

  • 2062 views and no coments lol

  • I know, but maybe that's 'cause people are too awe-struck by this song. I've used vocaloid on some of my own music. It's definitely an interesting tool, but the results do invariably sound like a japanese girl with a cold, so you have to take that into consideration with the type of song you're making. It sometimes helps to add some delay, reverb, doubling, phasers etc etc.
