  • I play viola too :) Keep up the good work!

  • Hi! I understand you were a former Marine and 20 years later took up the Viola again. I was a former Green Beret and now play Viola with a local community orchestra. I have commissioned a Tertis Viola and hope that it sounds as good as yours. Good luck to you.

  • you have a great violin

thank you for this medledey on YouTube

i must get learn this song for my violin lesson

  • wow your great! I love the sound of your viola o_o

  • God...I remember playing that on Viola for "solo ensemble contest" in Milwaukee, WI about 28 years ago. I should see if the fingers remember it at all. Needless to say, I didn't play it nearly as nicely as you. I love your style. It's a very "manly" sounding viola. Probably why I like the instrument so much: same register as a human barit-tenor voice.

  • oaw u sounded great...even though you just woke up? i wish i could get sound like that to come out of my viola. it sounded beautiful i love that song too. :)

  • Beautiful sound! Don't you love that almighty C string?!!!

And you're so in tune it's like candy for my ears :)

  • Yeah the sound coming from your viola sounds really good, I find that when I go faster it can get pretty hard to not scretch if you want to be louder. I've only been playing for 5 years, but I'm doing the best I can. Love your video, it's nice to see some viola playing on here!!

  • who made ur viola???

  • Hi Catlin, thanks for asking. It was crafted by the English Luthier: Arthur Richardson, Crediton Devon England 1948. He created the "Tertis Model" Viola in collaboration with Lionel Tertis, "the father of Viola Solo." Tertis wanted a viola that sounded big, but was easier to play. A dear friend who sold instruments bought it at acution. When I first played it in his workshop,my eyes got as big as saucers and my knees went weak. He Chuckled with victory.;) Thanks for asking.

  • Your viola has a very powerful projection. It sounds really nice to be honest with you.

  • Just beautiful, Keep Posting man! I love your Viola Playing! Who wrote that piece!

  • Hey Thanks! I will. The Piece? Actually Greensleeves is a medieval folk melody popularized at least as late as the 16th century ... Some say King Henry the VIII wrote it! Ha, not proven .. but this arrangemt is from Fantasia On Greensleeves by Ralph Von Williams ... (English any way you look at it ;) Arrrg GIVE ME MUTTON!! ;)

  • You're viola is absolutely beautiful and I love Greensleeves but do the composer some credit? It's Ralph Vaughan Williams! He is an under-rated composer and has written some extremely beautiful stuff. If you're looking for something truly viola by him, you should try his Suite for Viola. It's fantastic! :)

  • good sound

  • Thanks. Anyone up for Brandenberg 6?

  • I wish my neighbor played half as well as you.

  • Thanks
