I think kanaeva is a great gymnast, hum very complete. But she's the typical russian rhythmic gymnast. I mean, look at tchachina, kabaeva and kanaeva, and you'll see the diferene of the first with the other two. Obviously they have amazing technique, balance, flexibility and all, but there's something in her air that just doesn't like me. But beside that, i think she deserved gold, don't get me wrong.

And i hate kanaeva's arm when she's not using the ribbon, is so static.

bessonova's routine was ditzy, while Kanaeva took her time with the extension and artistic expression. Kanaeva is more elegant and undoubtedly she has beautiful line/form.

To tell you the truth anna bessonova is much much much better than evgenia canaeva!i mean look at her:she is toooooooo skinny,most of the times she loses her balance and her legs are not always straight,besides she looks discuisting to me at a lot of moves!but what can i say?well done to her for the metal!

Her patterns are not as good as those of Bessonova, but her handling with the apparatus is more intricate, more risky and it is in constant movement, so I think she is the better with ribbon handling. Eventhough she has a few small mistakes here and there, so did Bessonova. Kanaeva deserved to win this final...

she is a very honest athlete and wears her heart on her sleeve..you can see on her expression when she is not satisfied with herself. She is one of the best Russian gymnasts, and that is because she fought to Viners ''proteges'' and she won. And now she has to fight even more because they might say to her: Ok you got your gold medal, now let the road clear for Sessina and Kapranova..or even Ermacova and Pichuchkina who are also under Viners ''wing''.She has only her coach and hard work..

NO she was not great!!!! SHE MADE MANY MISTAKES and serius mistakes! at the first half of her routine maybe you can count only one element! and she made so many execution mistakes!!! SHE is clearly losing 4 elements that counts 2,5 point from her difficulty!

in my opinion both gymnasts are equally great: kanaeva can pull off really difficult elements while having a clean routine, while bessonova has the most amazing pivots, body and facial expression.

hu cares about the difficulty anyway... only the judges does care about it.. look at kanaeva's performance it seems so effortless, it is gracefully done. thats how you do it. and if you think she's overscored i guess the judges does know what they're doin... how come they become judges if they cant show any objectivity... agree?!

I agree with you. I think Kanaeva has lots of body expression, but I think Bessonova has more facial expressions. In the end, it's a matter of taste. I prefer Kanaeva, but Anna is amazing also. Even if Kanaeva gets overscored sometimes, it is not her fault but the judges.

Do You Know What Your Talking About? Anna Has A Starting Difficulty Of 10.000 For This Routine, Like Kanaeva... THEY HAVE THE SAME DIFFICULTY! Perhaps Kanaeva Is Cleaner, And Executes Her Difficulties Better To Make Her Difficulty Score Higher, But They Start At The Same Level. Totally agree!But Kanaeva is way too perfect.Afterall i love Anna because she gives her heart in every competition and her gymnastics is beautiful.I don't like Kanaeva because she reminds of Kabaeva my all time favourite and i think somehow she just «wants» to be like her X( Still she's a great champion!

@deccles001 Sorry, but check the COP and THEN analize their starting values. It's very stupid to say false things only not to admit that someone is better than your favourite gymnast (Bessonova).

Where did Bessonova perform 2 attitude and 5 passé? Maybe in ONE competition. And the major number of rotations doesn't mean that a pivot is more difficult than another, especially if a gymnasts doesn't perform the pivot correctly.

@deccles001 Does Bessonova turn correcly? I don't want to insult this gymnast, but Bessonova never perform a correct attitude or arabesque turn, because the leg always goes up and down. In these cases, the pivot cannot be counted or can be valued less (it depends), and Bessonova always performs incorrect backscale rotations (and this is penalized).

I honestly prefer Kanaeva's pivots, in this year she used to perform only triple turns, but at least she perform them correctly.
