  • can i install windows 7 using boot camp from lion?

  • @MrShinji99 Yes. Works great.

  • Is there a way to run both OSes using VMware or Parallels using this setup. I have looked around but could not find anything. Thanks

  • @adrianalert Apple will not let VMWare virtualize Snow Leopard. I was running Windows 7, Vista, and Snow Leopard Server but I didn't like the server version of SL.

  • @c130bulldawg thanks!

  • @c130bulldawg thanks!

  • @c130bulldawg thanks!

  • after installing lion on the second partition, can I delete Snow Leopard and merge the 2 partitions into 1 with lion installed? and is their is a way to format my hard drive to HFS and put lion disc that I burned to install it from the beginning?

  • @Mostafarefaie Yes. You can delete SL then increase the size of the Lion partition. Yes. you can also do a complete reinstall from the beginning. I did a fresh install from a flash drive.

  • @c130bulldawg I want to format my hard drive completely then install lion directly without using snow leopard by burning it then inserting cd comes with the laptop and format the hard drive by disc utility then restart and insert lion cd, would this open the installation or it wont work?

  • @Mostafarefaie I did a Complete lion install but used a USB stick rather than the CD and it worked perfectly.

  • @c130bulldawg Thanks. Nice video by the way

  • can u post a video and show please, i have been struggling with this for a month now because i upgraded to lion and now protools won't work and i need to produce my music and i can't afford pro tools 10 now so i need to downgrade

  • @bigpumpHD Let me work on it. I've been ill for the past week. Forgive the delayed response.

  • what if i upgraded to lion but now wants to run snow leopard, can i create a snow leopard partition

  • @bigpumpHD Yes you can.

  • I reached the same result in just 2 steps:

    1) go to Disk utility and create 2 Partitions

    2) run the Lion installer (and don't pick the snow Leo Partition as Destination)

And i've got exactly the same result....

  • @4pplicator Awesome. Thanks for the tip.

  • Okay, what if I already installed Lion and I want to go back to lion (on a partition disk I created)?

  • @MBCsRiot Hmmm. I'm not sure I understand the question. You can always delete any partition and it will boot to the remaining partition or you can leave them both and hold down the option key when you start to pick.

  • b...b...this video is like crack.......and i dont know why 0_0 god im weird

  • that's what I was looking to know, thanks for the tutorial.

  • @mrcardosou Great. I'm glad the video helped. Thanks for stopping by.

  • as you wer saying to 23decades, u must install on to a partiton from a usb or dvd but if u want to just fully update with no partiton u can just do it strait off you desktop or where ever? is this right ?

cheers and why at first did lion want to conect to apple.com, it thes to check for the latest updates?

  • @kuntie23 Yes. It checks with Apple.com for the latest updates.

  • @kuntie23 Yep. If you just want the upgrade, you can install it from the desktop. I would still make a boot DVD or USB flash drive in case something goes wrong.

  • after doin this partion buisiness and your happy with it can u erase the lion partion go back to your snow lep and reclaim that "x" amount of gb back and then install lion over the top of all?

  • @kuntie23 Yes. If you like Lion you can delete the SL partition.

    Cheers.

  • @23decades Great question. If you do it that way, it will not boot correctly when you start your Mac. You must install it from a boot so that your Mac knows the partition has a different OS.

    Cheers.

  • Where can I get the "video capture" software u using to make this video please?

  • @MrTekn010933 Google screenflow for mac.

  • Why did you need to put it on the USB flash drive? Nice video BTW.

  • @MewingFugur You could put it on a DVD but the USB was much easier.
