  • Talented? One of the greatest guitarists and singers the world has ever heard. I think it would be politically incorrect (and a fairly crap joke) if I said 'has ever seen'. RIP.

  • amazing!!!

  • Rip! Canada misses you!

  • Best cover of this song there. Video gives me a headache mind.

  • So awesome a guitarist and blind at that!!!! Saw him in Road House Movie also.

  • Why is he playing the guitar like that? (btw that's a legitimate question)

  • @acdcrocklover he is blind. he plays it like you would a piano (on his lap with his hands down) because thats how most blind people play it. kind of like a steel guitar.

  • @acdcrocklover He was blind, I assume this was the best way for him to learn to play, AC/DC and Jeff Healey rule!

  • I like Jeff's version more, with all due respect to Sir George Harrison.

  • Rockin' the mullet!

  • Makes me cry ... such a good song

  • wooooooooooooooooooooooooow

  • There are no words to describe the combination of the video with the talent of Jeff Healey....what a musical gift and a musical genius! I am blown away!

  • Man with bass and his guitars moves... co ja pacze...

  • was he an alien. how does 1 play so well in that position.

i like srv too yeah baby

  • abeldanger(dot)net

  • This song and video are transcendent in so many ways ! There are no words to describe Jeff. This song's meaning has never been more relevant than now.

  • So much soul. Wow, at a loss for words...

  • WOW! Thanks to my facebook friends for turning me on to this! I usually don't like covers so much, but I actually love this more than George Harrison & the Beatles, & that's really saying something! Man, I am sure wishing I had paid more attention to Jeff Healey while he was alive. What a talented man!

  • Love this video for its msg, not its pic quality. And that guitar didn't just "gently weeps" it SCREAMED! (In a wild way and I like that!)

  • Saw him do this tune live just like the video. It was absolutely amazing. Jumping around the stage we all went wild. I will never forget this amazing artist.

  • Best version ever

  • rip Mr healy man u could u ever make your guitar sing, the entire rock music world will miss u

  • Did you know that George Harrison is on this track? He played Acoustic rythym on this song so don't hate it's George approved.

  • One of the fewest example of a cover song good as the original version. Personally I like more the Jeff version.. I put this song in my wedding day during the arrival of my wife and me! Thank you George, thank you Jeff... God will enjoy your presence in the heaven!

  • Rest in Peace my brother..........I weep and do not know why, thank you Jeff.

  • Was in Toronto in 1989, mentioned we should check out Jeff Healey at some club on Dixie. Was told we weren't there for pleasure, yet they dragged me to the strip club everyday after work. Just fuckin bullshit.

  • @monza7800 You should have been at the Pinetree Bar on Queen at Tecumseth in 1985/86 and seen Jeff play then. We all knew this guy was brilliant then. It was hopefully only a matter of time before he got the proper recognition.

  • Jeff played a TV show called Tiny Talent Time in the mid 70's. 1974? He was about 8yrs old and he was amazing back then. ~RIP brother. You are truly missed.

  • NO ONE CAN PLAY THIS SONG LIKE JEFF CUZ HE WAS TRULY PLAYING FROM THE HEAR AND THATS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT GOOD JOD JEFF YOU GOT THIS ONE.

  • paul maccartney said this was better than the beatles version too

  • @1974gotcha Yes but needs Mccartney on base - only thing missing.

  • @TheSpeeddemon27 He inspired me too if it wasn't for hearing him play id probably never have gotten the inspiration i needed to play guitar and now i know how to play electric, Acousic, and bass guitar thx Jeff for being an inpriational man :D

  • you dont see music you hear it. very few people have an ear for music. seeing would not of made him good

  • @Tonybronx74 so your saying that being blind makes him play an instrument better. Why doesn't everyone just close their eyes when theyplay?

  • RIP jeff. wish you were still here to bring us more good, and moving music.

Both really good neighbours and nice guys.

    RIP Jeff!

  • I usually hate covers, and love the Beatles. But Jeff nailed it! Great!! However, he cant beat George Harrison's acoustic version.

  • Fvckin blind, and he can sing and play guitar like that. RIP Jeff.

  • amazing

  • Awesome

  • Met him, shook his hand at my grade 8 grad in Thunder Bay at the Airlane hotel. He and his escorts were walking thru the lobby and he stopped and said hello to all of us. RIP BRO. You did Beatles as awesome as anyone could. Love you

  • My favorite version of this song.

  • Wow... he was the Stevie Wonder of Guitar!!!!

Great cover of a great song.

  • vraiment tres bon

grande perte pour le monde de la musique

    jadore cet artiste

  • Saw him in Saskatchewan when I was maybe 15, him the same age always remembered. He was so good, when I saw him on T.V. and knew he was the man I saw years ago. Only one man plays the way he did. Rest in peace!

  • My eyes still gently weep when I see this, or any of jeffs amazings songs. The world lost a talent that can not be replaced the day he moved on.

  • This is one of the few cases where the cover is better than the original. Nothing against the original, but Jeff fucking rocks this song so hard. R.I.P Jeff you will be missed!

  • the way he plays yhe guitar allows him to do more than the traditional way of playing

  • RIP Jeff. You were a God, and now you are with the other gods. Still think its better than the beattles version.Sorry people :)

  • @CoryCorano Don't be sorry...wayyyy better than the Beatles version!!

  • @CoryCorano I agree.. I enjoy this one better than the Beatles...

  • @CoryCorano I completely agree. And for those who don't know, the solo on The Beatles original was recorded by Eric Clapton!

  • @CoryCorano Can't click thumbs up enough...

  • @CoryCorano amen ... too bad he didn't have a kid or two, they'd be just as awesome ;)

  • @1KillerBitch Healey is survived by his wife, Cristie, and two children.[11] A tribute concert was held on May 3, 2008, to benefit Daisy's Eye Cancer Fund, which, according to Cristie Healey, had helped make major strides in research and future advances for people born with the same genetically inherited retinoblastoma[12] which had plagued her husband since he was one year of age. Cristie and Jeff Healey's son was also born with the same disability.[13]

  • sad he is gone... beautiful music and personality, seen him in one of concerts and it was so great... I miss you Jeff

  • truly one of a kind guitarist

    R.I.P Jeff

i would have loved to play guitar with you

  • Jeff Healey is such a natural talent, he just breeeezed through "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", by George Harrison. How cool was that! One of my faves for sure!!!

  • The best ever for a blind guy, love you n miss you, R.I P. will always be in our hearts.

  • i can't even do power chords with my guitar on my lap

  • Beatles = over-rated. (not saying bad at all, just incredibly over-hyped) Jeff Healey = one of the most under-rated guitarists... no, not just that, one of the most under-rated musicians of all time.

  • @TheShredDoctor ....agreed this guy was something else

  • This is how it has to be done! Fucking pop/soul singers fucked it on X-FActor last night!!!!!! Shame on you Guy Sebastian!!

  • Love you, Miss you, Jeff Healey.... Thank you for the music.

  • Fucking Beautiful, an excellent rock/folk singer!!! I have his "When the Night Comes Falling" from Road House Soundtrack.

And all time great, he is far better in my opinion at classic-hard rock/metal then at stupid-ass Blues!!!

    My props, great video!!!

  • I prefer this to the original I must say.

  • @moopadoopolus My thoughts exactly

  • RIP brother!

  • Y yo me quejo porque tengo que estudiar...

  • someone shouldve told him that mullet was horrible. dude couldnt see it!

  • @mattzillar back then this was the style but i think he looked good with it myself. frankly, he was just plain beautiful, mullet or not ha!

  • This version is better than the original! Jeff Healey left us way too soon, he revolutionized the way music be played. He is a top notch singer and a tremendous guiter player. The solo still sends shivers through my body.

  • @cleanandsober4ever

i totally agree with you! ! i still get choked up when i hear this song. it's is so beautifully well done. i miss him and his music so much. i'm sure his guitar is still weeping.

  • Brilliant musician! This gives me chills. RIP Jeff You are missed.

  • @devymetalforlife First off S.T.F.U man, really you don't have put me down like that man.I was just saying he inspires me, he was one hell of a guitarist.Your right the drummer for Def Lepperd is one hell of a drummer, but we all have dreams so don't waste your time trying to crush mine, but don't say 'That's a rather stupid comment.' When really its not.Oh and DON'T TELL ME WHO THE INSPIRATION SHOULD BE!!! Ass hole. One more thing, devymetalforlife made me laugh to.

  • @TheSpeeddemon27

There's a hundred dumbfucks in every crowd. Don't let it bother you when one of them mouths off. That's cool that this music and musician inspired you and fed the fire of your dreams. Some people just have to try to bring other people down to their level of misery. Don't let 'em.

  • Great artist and a great cover.

  • Simply an amazing artist.

  • Great , Great, Great !!!!!!!! Jeff Healey THE BEST !

  • Many people outside Canada do not know that Jeff Healey had another touring band, the Jazz Wizards, playing 1930's and 1940's jazz and swing music and Jeff played, are you ready?, trumpet!!!

Name me another great guitar player who also was an exceptional trumpet player?. Jeff also had one of the greatest 78 rpm record collections around, had a CBC radio show about jazz and swing, and I am so glad I saw him play in London , Ontario, Canada in his last year. Talented? say no more

  • I heard this a long time ago and was wondering if anyone would confirm it for me...That Jeff asked George if he could cover the song and George agreed only if he could play guitar with Jeff on the song?

  • The best version of this classic song. Jeff Healey is an absolute hero for sticking at his instrument despite the fact he was blind, and is one of the most underrated and brilliant guitarists of all time!

  • This man inspires me to keep playing my guitar.I'm 14 and in a wheelchair and this shows me to keep going strong!!!!!!!!

  • @TheSpeeddemon27, I hope to buy tickets to see your show someday.
