Talented? One of the greatest guitarists and singers the world has ever heard. I think it would be politically incorrect (and a fairly crap joke) if I said 'has ever seen'. RIP.
@acdcrocklover he is blind. he plays it like you would a piano (on his lap with his hands down) because thats how most blind people play it. kind of like a steel guitar.
There are no words to describe the combination of the video with the talent of Jeff Healey....what a musical gift and a musical genius! I am blown away!
This song and video are transcendent in so many ways ! There are no words to describe Jeff. This song's meaning has never been more relevant than now.
WOW! Thanks to my facebook friends for turning me on to this! I usually don't like covers so much, but I actually love this more than George Harrison & the Beatles, & that's really saying something! Man, I am sure wishing I had paid more attention to Jeff Healey while he was alive. What a talented man!
Saw him do this tune live just like the video. It was absolutely amazing. Jumping around the stage we all went wild. I will never forget this amazing artist.
One of the fewest example of a cover song good as the original version. Personally I like more the Jeff version.. I put this song in my wedding day during the arrival of my wife and me! Thank you George, thank you Jeff... God will enjoy your presence in the heaven!
Was in Toronto in 1989, mentioned we should check out Jeff Healey at some club on Dixie. Was told we weren't there for pleasure, yet they dragged me to the strip club everyday after work. Just fuckin bullshit.
@monza7800 You should have been at the Pinetree Bar on Queen at Tecumseth in 1985/86 and seen Jeff play then. We all knew this guy was brilliant then. It was hopefully only a matter of time before he got the proper recognition.
Jeff played a TV show called Tiny Talent Time in the mid 70's. 1974? He was about 8yrs old and he was amazing back then. ~RIP brother. You are truly missed.
@TheSpeeddemon27 He inspired me too if it wasn't for hearing him play id probably never have gotten the inspiration i needed to play guitar and now i know how to play electric, Acousic, and bass guitar thx Jeff for being an inpriational man :D
Met him, shook his hand at my grade 8 grad in Thunder Bay at the Airlane hotel. He and his escorts were walking thru the lobby and he stopped and said hello to all of us. RIP BRO. You did Beatles as awesome as anyone could. Love you
Saw him in Saskatchewan when I was maybe 15, him the same age always remembered. He was so good, when I saw him on T.V. and knew he was the man I saw years ago. Only one man plays the way he did. Rest in peace!
This is one of the few cases where the cover is better than the original. Nothing against the original, but Jeff fucking rocks this song so hard. R.I.P Jeff you will be missed!
@1KillerBitch Healey is survived by his wife, Cristie, and two children.[11] A tribute concert was held on May 3, 2008, to benefit Daisy's Eye Cancer Fund, which, according to Cristie Healey, had helped make major strides in research and future advances for people born with the same genetically inherited retinoblastoma[12] which had plagued her husband since he was one year of age. Cristie and Jeff Healey's son was also born with the same disability.[13]
Jeff Healey is such a natural talent, he just breeeezed through "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", by George Harrison. How cool was that! One of my faves for sure!!!
Beatles = over-rated. (not saying bad at all, just incredibly over-hyped) Jeff Healey = one of the most under-rated guitarists... no, not just that, one of the most under-rated musicians of all time.
This version is better than the original! Jeff Healey left us way too soon, he revolutionized the way music be played. He is a top notch singer and a tremendous guiter player. The solo still sends shivers through my body.
i totally agree with you! ! i still get choked up when i hear this song. it's is so beautifully well done. i miss him and his music so much. i'm sure his guitar is still weeping.
@devymetalforlife First off S.T.F.U man, really you don't have put me down like that man.I was just saying he inspires me, he was one hell of a guitarist.Your right the drummer for Def Lepperd is one hell of a drummer, but we all have dreams so don't waste your time trying to crush mine, but don't say 'That's a rather stupid comment.' When really its not.Oh and DON'T TELL ME WHO THE INSPIRATION SHOULD BE!!! Ass hole. One more thing, devymetalforlife made me laugh to.
There's a hundred dumbfucks in every crowd. Don't let it bother you when one of them mouths off. That's cool that this music and musician inspired you and fed the fire of your dreams. Some people just have to try to bring other people down to their level of misery. Don't let 'em.
Jeff was by far amazing guitar player and musician. He will truely be missed. This is by far the best version of this song it gives you chills this ROCKS
Many people outside Canada do not know that Jeff Healey had another touring band, the Jazz Wizards, playing 1930's and 1940's jazz and swing music and Jeff played, are you ready?, trumpet!!!
Name me another great guitar player who also was an exceptional trumpet player?. Jeff also had one of the greatest 78 rpm record collections around, had a CBC radio show about jazz and swing, and I am so glad I saw him play in London , Ontario, Canada in his last year. Talented? say no more
i just found out that he passed away. i feel so guitly for not keeping up more. i wish i had had the pleasure of seeing him play live.... he is the best in my book and he always will be. may he rest in peace.
and thank you for sharing this info about him i am reading and learning alot about him. thank you.
I first heard Jeff healy in a movie , road house blues ,starring Patrice sway es {not sure of spelling} fell in love with his sound/ talent as SRV and other great musos ,stars rise to top and end up in heaven . and on very clear night when the stars are really bright and sparkling ,man they jamming.....
@robhsmi it's not surprising that you didn't realize he passed, they didn't make a huge deal about it like they did with M.J. it was cancer that took him in 2008.he was truly one of a kind.

I heard this a long time ago and was wondering if anyone would confirm it for me...That Jeff asked George if he could cover the song and George agreed only if he could play guitar with Jeff on the song?
Wow I hadn't heard that he died. I learned if him years ago when he was in Roadhouse. LOVED his sound and went and bought his album. This version of GH's song immediately became my favorite.
The best version of this classic song. Jeff Healey is an absolute hero for sticking at his instrument despite the fact he was blind, and is one of the most underrated and brilliant guitarists of all time!
Talented? One of the greatest guitarists and singers the world has ever heard. I think it would be politically incorrect (and a fairly crap joke) if I said 'has ever seen'. RIP.

Wow I hadn't heard that he died. I learned if him years ago when he was in Roadhouse. LOVED his sound and went and bought his album. This version of GH's song immediately became my favorite.

Why all good peoples leave as so young ? Beatles made this song but Jeff makes it eternal.

The best version of this classic song. Jeff Healey is an absolute hero for sticking at his instrument despite the fact he was blind, and is one of the most underrated and brilliant guitarists of all time!
