Conor as always been more toward to the folk side even with Bright Eyes, Examples, Im Wide Awake its morning. or Road to joy, or Lets not shit ourselves.. all have folk roots, his last album with bright eyes Cassadaga was VERY folk/country/indie. im glad he has decided to move on from bright eyes. he's moved on in his life, i have been a fan of his music since i was young. and i've noticed over the years as he grew so did his music.

well, for a while conor oberst officially stated that he's doing a final bright eyes album, but lately he has been reconsidering. he just doesn't know right now where he's going to go after the monsters of folk tour, which is perfectly fine with me as long as he keeps creating the wonderful music that i know he will.

Cassadaga was an extremely poor album compared to the others. I reminds me of a couple of pearl jam albums they put out in the middle of their career. I call them "filler". Just something to let us all know that they are still around.

man am I jealous! And, maybe you don't know it yet, but you should really be looking forward to (or at least I would be looking forward to...) Levon Helm (of The Band). Seriously, that festival has connections to three out of my four favorite musicians--Bright Eyes, The Band and Bob Dylan. And the Swell Season and Gillian Welch aren't bad either.

But, I can't complain too much. Going to one of the SF shows--such a small venue and everything!
