@TomJackson986 I agree with you about the LS; just a beautiful car that was never marketed properly. In my opinion they should modernize it and it should replace the MKZ, which is really too much like a glossed up Fusion
The problem with American cars is that they loose value very quickly. The reason is because everybody knows that 5 years old Lincoln is a very high risk investment unlike Mercedes or BMW. I had a Lincoln LS , the first 4 years were awesome after that it makes my life hell and I started hating this brand who made my life very Difficult. I really wish that American cars will gain the respect, because I want to buy MKS, but im just afraid to repate the same experience.
I saw the MKS and, the latest version of the TownCar, side by side...and, the MKS is actually bigger than, the TownCar! It's also looks larger than, the BMW 7-Series and, Lexus LS, also. ;-)
Anyway, he says Lincoln makes good cars. But auto professionals say otherwise. Here's the latest ranking for 2009 JD Power Initial Quality Study:
1. Lexus
2. Porsche
3. Cadillac
4. Hyundai
5. Honda
As it turns out Lincoln isn't even in the top 25. LMAO!
I hate to say, "I told you so". But, as you can see, even the car experts and owners agree that Lincoln makes crappy cars. It's definitely not just my opinion.
@FutureMarine246 Well if you looked at new Fords they use 50% more recycled plastic and like 30% more plastic in general, they dont even use the same body material as they did 5 years ago you cant even sit on the car without it dinting! Fords are safer, but quality.. You sound like an idiot who bought one and is defending what they bought... A Mercedes?! Are you kidding me JD Power doesnt rate quality of vehicle, they rate the CUSTOMER SATISFACTION moron
I agree. Subaru Outback was just named 2010 SUV of the Year by motortrend, yet Subaru is in the lower 1/3-ish. Suzuki is ranked higher than Audi and Infiniti. JD Power = Fail.

Your a typical stupid fuck. Your pissed off because Ford lincoln mercury make good cars and your trying to defend some shitty car brand you cant stop jerking off to every time you hear it being mentioned, and above that you use the stereotypical American redneck shit. I'm far from redneck. You fail.
Sneaky Ford people slapped cheap Duratec V6 engine on a cheap D3 platform. Ford Five Hundred used same shitty platform. Duratec engine is now shared with Taurus.
Essentially, Lincoln customers are paying 45K to 55K for shitty cheap car that shares the most important elements of the car with cheaper Ford cars. No wonder why Lincoln brand has one of the lowest resale values in the industry, hmm?
This car has Infiniti M-Class name all over it. Chromes around side windows look just like M45. Looking from the rear of MKS, it looks just like M45. When did American automakers start copying Japanese and European cars?
This car is pretty much a washed-down version of Inifiniti and Lexus GS sedans. What a shame!
For that, I'd rather buy Hyundai Genesis with 4.6L, 8 Cyl. engine, and keep $10K in my pocket.
This sorry ass MKS is basically a shitty culmination of cheap chassis borrowed from Taurus, cheap V6 3.5L engine with same old turbocharger. These sneaky Ford people then smothered the piece of shit with cheap leathers, cheap chromes and cheap wood grains. They threw in some audio system and GPS, and now they have a shitty 52K, luxufy vehicle.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
well it takes infinity to make their lighter m45 a 4.5l v8 to keep up with it, it has a rougher ride and cost more. Lincoln MKS is heavier, uses a smaller engine, has a better ride, higher quality and costs less. M45 fully loaded-OVER 70K!
i was comparing two cars of the same class. But its clear that your having a hard time accepting the fact that the ford corp. has tied Honda and Toyota in quality and reliability and is still going up. You cant accept the fact that this Lincoln is a great car. YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH!
Yes, it was. And, Lincoln will do anything to sell their shitty cars, including copying design cues from Japanese Lexus and Infiniti. You can obviously tell Ford engineers haven't done well thought out plan, when they decided to use Taurus chassis and shitty inadequate V6 engines for this car. It obviously shows with its poor 0-60 time.
It just came out your probably thinking of the MKZ. And this Lincoln doesn't look anything like anything else. That v6 is good too. Its been reliable so far and the same engine with ecoboost makes to do 14 sec 1/4 mile times. A half a second slower than a mustang GT. Grandpa will be winning races in a v6 land yacht. lol
No it wasn't MKZ. Lincoln started selling MKS since June 2008. No, V6 is not good at all, because it's uderpowered for a car that weighs less than 150 pounds lighter than the full size Towncar.
"It's been reliable so far"
They started selling Ecoboost for what, a year? How do you already know it's reliable? MKS with Ecoboost does zero to 60 in over 6 seconds. That's almost full second slower than Mustang GT. How does it get faster in 1/4 mile? Where do you get your information from?
its a brand new car dumbass. And the engine has been out for a while. Its called the duratec series and its been reliable. The ecoboost v6 delivers more power than a mustang gt and runs right behind it in the quarter mile. I get it from multiple sources such as KBB.
Are you the same idiot that said, MKS looks nothing like Lexus GS or Infiniti M? LOL!
Go to MSN Auto or any other sites with picture comparison tools, and see it for yourself. MKS and Lexus GS look like twins except that ugly, cheap plastic chrome grille of MKS. ROFL!
Why don't you go buy you a Ford Fuckus? That piece of junk would make you look badass! I mean let me tell you...I look so BADass in my Fuckus it's not funny...Cause it's a FORD! hahahahahahahaha
The generation Focus now is made in Mexico and shipped here. Labeled as the "American Focus." That's why in Motor Trend; when they're talking about the RS, they said they're bringing the Euro Focus back to the US. Called common sense.
Not really. The suspension creaks and rattles like crazy. The dash starts shaking when going 70 mph. (Got new tires for it too and it's not out of alignment). Leaks oil. So why would it be fun to drive? Cause it's a FORD? Lol
Oh yea, go off and fucking snitch on me to your boyfriends...Make send me so much hate letters, like it's going to do anything... See? I told you you are a piece of shit that fails at life. A lot of us know it and the only reason why comments have been scored so low in a matter of a couple of hours is because you go running to your duplicate account(s). I know it, we all know it and there's nothing you can hide. I don't think I've ever talked to someone that pathetic.
strong words and opinions; you should try basing them on facts. The MKS looks nothing like an Infiniti, uses imported Bridge of Weir leather from Scotland (better quality than any other vehicle in the segment), theatre-quality THX II audio, and the best sync navigation system.
but no.... keep smiling from your Hyundai -- the people smiling back are actually laughing at you, though. Especially the ones getting ready to do the extensive repairs -- as with any Hyundai
Nothing like Infiniti M or Lexus GS? You're kidding, right? Do you think the old shitty Towncar and other Lincoln cars even resembled fastback, 4-door design of Japanese luxury cars?
Sorry ass Lincoln designers changed the look to mimick hot luxury cars of the recent years, Lexus and Infiniti. Are you gonna deny that, too?
the front grille is completely unique to Lincoln and the tail lights -- maybe Maserati Quattroporte. The interior dash is also unique and doesn't look like any Lexus or Infiniti; name one sound system better; there isn't one.
The engine is also a 3.7L unique to this vehicle... get your head out of your ass. 275 HP is plenty for this type of luxury sedan. The Ecoboost engine is 355 HP.
I assume you have no problem with people dropping $80G+ on BMW sedans with stale design and interior?
Peope pay $80G + for BMW sedans like the 7 series because they want quality. Not something that looks good and when you touch it, it rattles like a box of Skittles.
Now, regarding the 'stale design.' Pause at 2:18. It looks like the sketch of a 1st year design student who has smoked himself stupid. I am sure that the cheap looking console is made of plastic.
Don't be angry that you can't afford a BMW. You probably will someday. And I guarantee that you will brag about it on another video.
I've driven an M3, 740i and 745i, as good as BMW has to offer. The door on the M3 sounded like it was gonna fall off when I closed it because there wasn't even moldings on them. The most interesting design cues on the BMW interiors are the air vents. People like BMW because of performance on tight winding roads; great for Europe but just not important on North American roads unless they're constructing the new Autobahn across the street from the dumpster you call home
Is that the new M3 you drove or an older model? Because I can't complain about anything on the E92. Honestly, when I first saw the E92 interior in a photo I thought it was shit. But when I sat into the drivers seat I really liked the simple design. Besides I was too busy enjoying the drive and trying to avoid crashing into something to look at any of the materials inside.
A friend of mine has ordered the MKS and I will ask him to drive it. But I doubt the quality can match BMW.
2003 model a co-worker has. He spent 90K CDN and I don't believe he got value for that price.
You won't find BMW quality in the MKS; but for the 45K I paid loaded it's great value. 90% of my daily commute is highway and the MKS is a great highway cruiser at 80mph. Add the comfort and tech features and it's a superior package to the RL, ES, STS, or Genesis
At a higher price I considered an Audi S5 but CDN roads in winter are too extreme to risk body work on it or a 7 series BMW :)
See, there is a BIG difference between the 2003 model and the new E92. Go to your dealer and test drive it. You will not regret it.
It's great that you are happy with your MKS. After all, you are driving it so what people say is only a matter of opinion. Personally, I would not spend that money on a new MKS. I would get a pre-owned Mercedes CLS or BMW 5 series for 25K - 30K. But that's just me. I really wanted a CLS 350 but they were too expensive here in Europe. Around 70K in USD pre-owned.
I agree with you about MKS. I wouldn't pay anywhere between 45K and 55K for this piece of shit, knowing that resale value will tank in a couple of years, like almost all other Lincoln cars do.
Good point about the resale value. I have money to buy new cars but I don't. I prefer to get them at 20K miles in good condition for 30% less. I still have a guarantee from the manufacturer and the previous owner has worked the engine to it's optimum state.
You are the knucklehead, refusing to believe the truth. If you still don't believe it, go to websites such as MSN Auto, and compare the pictures of three vehicles side by side.
And then, tell me if MKS was the first model that came out with that kind of exterior design.
If you still don't see the resemblance, you should really go see your eye doctor.
Anyway, who's making movies or listening to shitty THX audio tracks, except George Lucas? Do you need to hear a fucking spaceship flying from your left-front windshield to the right-back seat while you are driving in a busy traffic?
Will your kids and friends sitting in the backseat get impressed? Maybe, for some dumb rednecks. ROFL!
Or, is Lincoln trying to shove these old shitty audio systems into dumb folks' throat?
I saw a black one today on the street and it's jaw dropping gorgeous. Too bad my parents hate American cars because I would love for them to have one of these.
Really nice car. If there would be an option to get the MKS in Germany, i would take a closer look at it. I've got some questions to Lincoln-Drivers: Is the quality and workmanship of Lincoln automobiles matchable with a BMW or Audi? How dependable are the engines and the electronics?
Imho and from personal experience (I own a 1998 Continental that is still running strong with over 200,000 miles on the clock) Lincoln's build quality and reliability far surpasses any German or Japanese manufacturer. I've owned several luxury sedans in my life and I have to say that Lincoln is pretty damn hard to beat. They're comfortable, reliable and way ahead of their time. There are some electronics that were before their time back in 1998, and still are groundbreaking today.
This Lincoln seems like a luxury car for the masses, and that's not such a bad thing. Real Americans still appreciate a car with......ROOM. Too many expensive car have backseats that aren't big enough for real adults. Looks like a guy could get laid in the back seat of this Lincoln and that is always a good thing.....Nice car, Lincoln!
this model has the optional aluminum trim so it doesn't have wood grain steering wheel (wood grain steering wheel is standard without the aluminum trim package)
read most expert reviews any they diplomatically refer to the RL as crap.... almost universally. Actually, take a look at sales numbers for the RL'; dismal.
Unfortunately you can't "take" an RL, but you can pay through the nose for one
A fully loaded 2009 Acura TL with the technology package can easily beat this car. Compare the same trim level, the MSRP 46k for the MKZ = MSRP 38k for the TL. I got a quote for the TL for 33k today :). Which one should I choose?
question for everybody...my cousin is considering buying this car or a 2009 acura tl. now we both don't know much about cars and i was wondering, between the lincoln mks and acura tl, which car do you think he should get and why?...he is a single man in his late 20's, maybe that can help in your advice. thanks!
Well, it really depends on your cousin's preference. Personally, I prefer the MKS to the TL for its sleek design and technology. Of course, the decision is in your cousin's hands, but I'm just giving my viewpoint.
i hear you. no i appreciate it, that's exactly what i want because he has no idea. i want to know which car they would choose and why, you answered perfectly. thanks!
That totally depends on your cousin and his personal preference. I would tell him to sit down and think really hard what is most important to him. And what is he looking for in a car. Then, I would suggest to test drive both cars. Think some more before making his final decision. And go from there.
Most importantly, tell him to be as objective as possible. Look at both cars with a cold stern eye. Becuase, once he signs those papers he's going to paying for it for at least the next 5 years. There would be nothing worst than being stuck with a car you hate for 5 years and your paying for it.
I would like to offer up some other cars he'd be good to look at. The CTS 3.6DI costs about the same and offers AWD or RWD for him. The Genesis 4.6 is an excellent sedan for the money too.
There are two large sedans I think your cousin would be good to wait for:
2010 Taurus SHO (AWD, 365 hp twin-turbo) and the 2010 Chrysler 300C (RWD/AWD, 370 hp Hemi). If he can forgo a premium badge, he'd enjoy the performance of those two over the Acura or Lincoln.
wow the 2010 taurus sho is actually something that caught his eye. thanks for the suggestion...he's really taking his time on this and may be willing to wait for that car. a lot of research to do but now there are a few more options he can choose from..thanks :)
I think he'd like it every bit as much as the MKS, and he'd only be saving money.
But yes, I would suggest he wait to see what the 2010 300/Charger turn out to be like. The Hyundai Genesis 4.6 gets a retooled suspension for 2010 too.
I don't know what his price range is, but for about 40 grand, those are all cars I would call winners.
i think its amazing how lincoln went from cars like the lincoln towncar to the mks and mkz. it went from the old retirement style cars to something thats actually nice. buicks doing to same thing, except their "old people" style cars werent as bad as the towncar..
I like the styling of this car, came out good and took some cues from lincoln's better concept cars. Plus a twin turbo v6 and awd version coming out, good idea from lincoln. Still, it will never be the same as the Town Car and I don't think it's a fitting flagship sedan, needs to be bigger, and please put a v8 in it.
I was impressed with this car when I checked it out at the Chicago Auto Show. I think it looks nice and the interior is superb. For that kind of money though, I'd rather have a BMW 528i even though it's a tad smaller.
the genesis is a hyundai; not even in the same league as a lincoln, and the sales numbers show it. People in the luxury, or even entry level luxury aren't going to be driving a hyundai if it were only $20,000. I liked the Genesis the first time I saw it; on further inspection it's a cheap knock off attempt of a Lexus LS
I don't know why they share interior with cheaper version.. there's plenty of customers hate that shit.. which non of jap.european companies doing.. Leave luxury with luxo brand.. stop sharing parts to cheat customers....
What the hell are you talking about? Lexus and Toyota share a crapload of interior parts. Chrysler uses the SAME EXACT chasis as the old E-Class and SLK (300C and Crossfire), and Honda recycles old Acura parts CONSTANTLY. Stop hating when you have no idea what the hell you are talking about.
i heard the mks with ecoboost can be equipped with adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, active park assist and cross traffic alert. can those be added to the non ecoboost mks model?
anyways, looks nice, heated and cooled front seats and standard 19" wheels (in canada, not sure about u.s.) makes up for the 270 hp engine and good pricing range too
For the middle east, it abit expensive. it about $47,500 without the navi or anything. for a little more I could get the Pontiac GXP which is quick but maybe you going to say it more sport. Then as luxury I would take the Chevy Caprice Royal ( middle east marketed Australian made) fully loaded to the max with a V8 that could make the MKS blush.
But if they made it cheaper or at least they put the Navi on with this price tag I would consider it
The new MKS is very nice even though im not a big fan of american cars (the only 1 i like is the cts) but if this was rear drive it would be far better that's y acura has always laughed on because they pretend to be luxury oriented and yet they're front wheel drive. I don't know y ford made the same mistake but other than that i find the interior and looks are extremely nice.
A lot of Ford's sales happen in the midwest US, where I live in Minnesota, where the winters are brutal, cold, and icy. I will tell you one thing, when the whole road is covered with half a foot of slush you want FWD, it gets better traction and is easier to stear. Other than that I love RWD.
I personally don't like American products because they stink; that is what's available in North America. What the American car makers need to do is bring their much better and fun vehicles from Europe and Australia (like the Saturn Astra: but should have kept the VXR option) like the Ford Focus and Falcon. GM like I said should have kept the VXR option for the Saturn Astra and Aura (Vectra in Europe; looks better too). Stop with the SUV's and trucks.
Ahh-Haa! Caught ya'! So, in other words...you, actually do like American cars, huh? I knew, you were B.S'ing! Lemme guess! You're little puck-puck, Honda Civic's been outran by, one of those badazz American made cars, huh? LMAO..
Hm, since I know that your English is not first language, let me rephrase, I said YOU were asking for HELP on this site, because you can't argue, cuz you only can argue like a kid =)
And you caught me? LOL I am the one who got you here, kiddie, you didn't expect to see me here, did you, Paki boy? =)

Yes, it was. And, Lincoln will do anything to sell their shitty cars, including copying design cues from Japanese Lexus and Infiniti. It obviously shows with its poor 0-60 time.

No it wasn't MKZ. Lincoln started selling MKS since June 2008. No, V6 is not good at all, because it's uderpowered for a car that weighs less than 150 pounds lighter than the full size Towncar.

They started selling Ecoboost for what, a year? How do you already know it's reliable? MKS with Ecoboost does zero to 60 in over 6 seconds. That's almost full second slower than Mustang GT. How does it get faster in 1/4 mile? Where do you get your information from?
itgeek8888 2 years ago
its a brand new car dumbass. And the engine has been out for a while. Its called the duratec series and its been reliable. The ecoboost v6 delivers more power than a mustang gt and runs right behind it in the quarter mile. I get it from multiple sources such as KBB.

Nope.

Not really. The suspension creaks and rattles like crazy. The dash starts shaking when going 70 mph. (Got new tires for it too and it's not out of alignment). Leaks oil. So why would it be fun to drive? Cause it's a FORD? Lol

strong words and opinions; you should try basing them on facts.
Especially the ones getting ready to do the extensive repairs -- as with any Hyundai
justice008a 2 years ago
Nothing like Infiniti M or Lexus GS? You're kidding, right? Do you think the old shitty Towncar and other Lincoln cars even resembled fastback, 4-door design of Japanese luxury cars?
Sorry ass Lincoln designers changed the look to mimick hot luxury cars of the recent years, Lexus and Infiniti. Are you gonna deny that, too?
ROFL!
itgeek8888 2 years ago
Moreover, if the old Towncar came with piss ass 6 cylinder 3.5L engines, would people ever pay 52K for it? I think not.
But, that's what these Ford assholes are trying to do. THX is nice, but you are paying dearly for it; it's not like Ford is giving it away.
itgeek8888 2 years ago
the front grille is completely unique to Lincoln and the tail lights -- maybe Maserati Quattroporte.
I assume you have no problem with people dropping $80G+ on BMW sedans with stale design and interior?
justice008a 2 years ago
Peope pay $80G + for BMW sedans like the 7 series because they want quality. Not something that looks good and when you touch it, it rattles like a box of Skittles.
Now, regarding the 'stale design.' Pause at 2:18. It looks like the sketch of a 1st year design student who has smoked himself stupid. I am sure that the cheap looking console is made of plastic.
Don't be angry that you can't afford a BMW. You probably will someday. And I guarantee that you will brag about it on another video.
suspendmeassholes 2 years ago
I've driven an M3, 740i and 745i, as good as BMW has to offer. The door on the M3 sounded like it was gonna fall off when I closed it because there wasn't even moldings on them. The most interesting design cues on the BMW interiors are the air vents. People like BMW because of performance on tight winding roads; great for Europe but just not important on North American roads unless they're constructing the new Autobahn across the street from the dumpster you call home
You driven an MKS?
justice008a 2 years ago
Is that the new M3 you drove or an older model? Because I can't complain about anything on the E92. Honestly, when I first saw the E92 interior in a photo I thought it was shit. But when I sat into the drivers seat I really liked the simple design. Besides I was too busy enjoying the drive and trying to avoid crashing into something to look at any of the materials inside.
A friend of mine has ordered the MKS and I will ask him to drive it. But I doubt the quality can match BMW.
suspendmeassholes 2 years ago
2003 model a co-worker has. He spent 90K CDN and I don't believe he got value for that price.
You won't find BMW quality in the MKS; but for the 45K I paid loaded it's great value. 90% of my daily commute is highway and the MKS is a great highway cruiser at 80mph. Add the comfort and tech features and it's a superior package to the RL, ES, STS, or Genesis
At a higher price I considered an Audi S5 but CDN roads in winter are too extreme to risk body work on it or a 7 series BMW :)
justice008a 2 years ago
See, there is a BIG difference between the 2003 model and the new E92. Go to your dealer and test drive it. You will not regret it.
It's great that you are happy with your MKS. After all, you are driving it so what people say is only a matter of opinion. Personally, I would not spend that money on a new MKS. I would get a pre-owned Mercedes CLS or BMW 5 series for 25K - 30K. But that's just me. I really wanted a CLS 350 but they were too expensive here in Europe. Around 70K in USD pre-owned.
suspendmeassholes 2 years ago
I agree with you about MKS. I wouldn't pay anywhere between 45K and 55K for this piece of shit, knowing that resale value will tank in a couple of years, like almost all other Lincoln cars do.
itgeek8888 2 years ago
Good point about the resale value. I have money to buy new cars but I don't. I prefer to get them at 20K miles in good condition for 30% less. I still have a guarantee from the manufacturer and the previous owner has worked the engine to it's optimum state.
suspendmeassholes 2 years ago 2
You are the knucklehead, refusing to believe the truth. If you still don't believe it, go to websites such as MSN Auto, and compare the pictures of three vehicles side by side.
And then, tell me if MKS was the first model that came out with that kind of exterior design.
If you still don't see the resemblance, you should really go see your eye doctor.
itgeek8888 2 years ago
Anyway, who's making movies or listening to shitty THX audio tracks, except George Lucas? Do you need to hear a fucking spaceship flying from your left-front windshield to the right-back seat while you are driving in a busy traffic?
Will your kids and friends sitting in the backseat get impressed? Maybe, for some dumb rednecks. ROFL!
Or, is Lincoln trying to shove these old shitty audio systems into dumb folks' throat?

Really nice car. If there would be an option to get the MKS in Germany, i would take a closer look at it. I've got some questions to Lincoln-Drivers: Is the quality and workmanship of Lincoln automobiles matchable with a BMW or Audi? How dependable are the engines and the electronics?
TheManneken 2 years ago
Imho and from personal experience (I own a 1998 Continental that is still running strong with over 200,000 miles on the clock) Lincoln's build quality and reliability far surpasses any German or Japanese manufacturer. I've owned several luxury sedans in my life and I have to say that Lincoln is pretty damn hard to beat. They're comfortable, reliable and way ahead of their time. There are some electronics that were before their time back in 1998, and still are groundbreaking today.

A fully loaded 2009 Acura TL with the technology package can easily beat this car. Compare the same trim level, the MSRP 46k for the MKZ = MSRP 38k for the TL. I got a quote for the TL for 33k today :). Which one should I choose?

Buy the 355 hp 2010 MKS EcoBoost.
And I'm not biased. One of my cars is an 04 TL.

wait for the eco boost engine it will smoke the 4.2
duplessis2006 2 years ago
If only Ford still owned Jaguar, I really could have seen them use the 4.2 in the MKS. After all, the old LS used a jaguar v8
chillinintheS5 2 years ago
I'd rather see them use the new 5.0L Coyote V-8 here.
The EcoBoost, short of the V-8 burble, is better in every way than the dated AJ V8.

question for everybody...my cousin is considering buying this car or a 2009 acura tl. now we both don't know much about cars and i was wondering, between the lincoln mks and acura tl, which car do you think he should get and why?...he is a single man in his late 20's, maybe that can help in your advice. thanks!
arawatbituin 2 years ago
Well, it really depends on your cousin's preference. Personally, I prefer the MKS to the TL for its sleek design and technology. Of course, the decision is in your cousin's hands, but I'm just giving my viewpoint.

arawatbituin 2 years ago
Oh good.Then that's a relieve. I hope I've been of good help.Cheers.
BMWrocksalltheway 2 years ago
That totally depends on your cousin and his personal preference. I would tell him to sit down and think really hard what is most important to him. And what is he looking for in a car. Then, I would suggest to test drive both cars. Think some more before making his final decision. And go from there.
Rock112207 2 years ago
Most importantly, tell him to be as objective as possible. Look at both cars with a cold stern eye. Becuase, once he signs those papers he's going to paying for it for at least the next 5 years. There would be nothing worst than being stuck with a car you hate for 5 years and your paying for it.
Good luck >:)
Rock112207 2 years ago
I would like to offer up some other cars he'd be good to look at. The CTS 3.6DI costs about the same and offers AWD or RWD for him. The Genesis 4.6 is an excellent sedan for the money too.
There are two large sedans I think your cousin would be good to wait for:
2010 Taurus SHO (AWD, 365 hp twin-turbo) and the 2010 Chrysler 300C (RWD/AWD, 370 hp Hemi). If he can forgo a premium badge, he'd enjoy the performance of those two over the Acura or Lincoln.
TheNewMrCool 2 years ago
wow the 2010 taurus sho is actually something that caught his eye. thanks for the suggestion...he's really taking his time on this and may be willing to wait for that car. a lot of research to do but now there are a few more options he can choose from..thanks :)
arawatbituin 2 years ago
I think he'd like it every bit as much as the MKS, and he'd only be saving money.
But yes, I would suggest he wait to see what the 2010 300/Charger turn out to be like. The Hyundai Genesis 4.6 gets a retooled suspension for 2010 too.
I don't know what his price range is, but for about 40 grand, those are all cars I would call winners.
Good luck to you both.

elementskaterxl 2 years ago
I like the styling of this car, came out good and took some cues from lincoln's better concept cars. Plus a twin turbo v6 and awd version coming out, good idea from lincoln. Still, it will never be the same as the Town Car and I don't think it's a fitting flagship sedan, needs to be bigger, and please put a v8 in it.
mercedesfan650 2 years ago 3
I was impressed with this car when I checked it out at the Chicago Auto Show. I think it looks nice and the interior is superb. For that kind of money though, I'd rather have a BMW 528i even though it's a tad smaller.

genesis is better than this for that price
nynete 2 years ago
the genesis is a hyundai; not even in the same league as a lincoln, and the sales numbers show it. People in the luxury, or even entry level luxury aren't going to be driving a hyundai if it were only $20,000. I liked the Genesis the first time I saw it; on further inspection it's a cheap knock off attempt of a Lexus LS

What the hell are you talking about? Lexus and Toyota share a crapload of interior parts. Chrysler uses the SAME EXACT chasis as the old E-Class and SLK (300C and Crossfire), and Honda recycles old Acura parts CONSTANTLY. Stop hating when you have no idea what the hell you are talking about.

anyways, looks nice, heated and cooled front seats and standard 19" wheels (in canada, not sure about u.s.) makes up for the 270 hp engine and good pricing range too
kenosisthunder 3 years ago
For the middle east, it abit expensive. it about $47,500 without the navi or anything. for a little more I could get the Pontiac GXP which is quick but maybe you going to say it more sport. Then as luxury I would take the Chevy Caprice Royal ( middle east marketed Australian made) fully loaded to the max with a V8 that could make the MKS blush.
But if they made it cheaper or at least they put the Navi on with this price tag I would consider it
samyzae 3 years ago
The new MKS is very nice even though im not a big fan of american cars (the only 1 i like is the cts) but if this was rear drive it would be far better that's y acura has always laughed on because they pretend to be luxury oriented and yet they're front wheel drive. I don't know y ford made the same mistake but other than that i find the interior and looks are extremely nice.
eemiri 3 years ago
