Hopkins would use his footwork to draw Joe in, Joe would flail aimlessly with his girl slaps, none of them landed, the few that did had no impact, and Hopkins would counterpunch with hard punches that nearly sent Calzaghe on his ass several more times throughout the fight.
Calzaghe threw more slaps, but he wasn't landing for shit.

The fact that it was a split decision was because they fucked Hopkins but had to make it seem like less of a fuckjob by making it split. All 3 of Hopkins' last losses were decisions in Vegas, 2 of them Split. Coincidence? Yeah, right. LOL
Calzaghe never would've made it to the 8th round against a prime B-Hop, and especially not against a prime Jones. 2nd rate eurotrash.

If he'd really dodged as you say he would have been stripped of his title. Since he retired there have been at least 2 world champs he beat and 2 more beaten by his victims. Two things affect who you are: Who your parents are. And where you spent most of your life. Where you were born has no effect on your life. You don't even remember it. It contributes nothing to your DNA, and virtually nothing to your physical or mental makeup in later life. Especially if you move away fairly early

I can't believe how many so called experts on Calzaghe do not even know where he was born!
People should really learn to act within their intellectual limitations. Calazaghe was born in Hammersmith, London.

@shgp1956 I believe you are incorrect sir. Calzaghe is English/Pakistani. He was born in London UK (hence the Muslim sounding name). Really trying hard here to think of anything good or bad even that's actually come out of Wales England. Does anyone actually live in that place besides Tom Jones?

@angels77100 Calzaghe is welsh, though he was born in a hammersmith hospital he was brought up in wales and is a welsh person, his ancestry is Sardinian (ie southern Italian) and welsh, nothing to do with Pakistan whatsoever...So you are incorrect sir, Calzaghe is clearly an Italian surname..Hence his nickname 'Italian Dragon' ie welsh-Italian, nothing to do with Islam or Pakistan. He has no english or Pakistani blood, only sardinian and welsh blood, and brought up in wales, he's welsh

@mizofan My apologies sir, but few of those names I've actually heard of. Richard Burton is American I believe. Maybe his ancestors where Welsh. Dylan Thomas is another name I've heard of, but I always assumed he was Irish (like most poets). Then again perhaps his ancestors to where Welsh. Anthony Hopkins (English). Lawrence Of Arabia (Irish). I remember the film. Henry VII (English as all kings were).
