Hang about, once the Borg cube adapts to the Dominion weapons its game over for them, the only reason the Federation ever defeated the Borg was because Picard had the knowledge of Locutus.
This would be a bit closer to trek reality if its weapons couldn't be taken offline short of giving it the pounding it got for another 5 minutes or so, cuz it sure as hell would take more than it did to make the cube stop firing.
Have a look at the Star Trek Armada II Fleet Operations Mod (just google it) - it's great, virtually everything is updated and improved! Actually, it's much like Armada III if it had ever been published!

One interesting question would be, could the Borg assimilate a shape shifter! if so they could find the location of the founders home world and assimilate the whole of the great link! shape shifting drones would be a real menace.
@katakisLives I read a pretty good fan story where the borg were sent to the founders homeworld. it wasn't pretty. meanwhile the jem hadar went absolutely nuts trying to stop the attack on their gods. good times all around.

@Omnikron228 Hey remember a normal Imperial Class Star Destroyer can melt the surface off a planet, DBZ. So an SSD could lay waste to anything they could throw at them.

Certainly when the Enterprise first encountered them (Q Who?) they at first didn't use their defenses, but that was a ploy to annalyze the Enterprise's offensive capabilities. ( a stupid one if you ask me) after that initial exchange the Borg's shields seemed totally impervious to phasers and photons. (with exceptions)

My money's on the Borg. The Federation already put the hurt on the Dominion in DS9. Even assuming full forces on the Dominion's side, you can say goodbye to the Jem Ha'daar.
The borg just didn't seem that fussed about shooting back. I assume that there was a special weapon (polaron torpedo?) added to at least some of the Dominion ships.
In the Episode on DS9 where the Garrek places some type of inhibitor that keep Odo from being able to revert back to his liquid form. The Borg could do the same thing that would allow them to assimilate a changeling. However I don't believe that the Borg are even smart enough to come up with something like that. It would be interesting to see a Borg cube that can change its shape.
@ApartGentleman - I know how they work; by assimilating the blood cells. The Founders may not have blood, but they are still made up of cells like any other race.
the dominion could be assimilated, The borg are just stupid that way. If they where to assimilate a cloning facility they would be able to make drones even faster. The Founders too could be assimilated too, if they where to stay in solid form.
This makes me realise something...In the star trek universe, why didn't they just sacrifice 1-2 ships and just fly them into a borg cube? Wouldn't have that completely stopped the battle of Wolf _ _ _?
The Borg Fusion Cube is a 10/10. The Borg standard Cube would be 6/10 and the Borg Tactical Cube 8/10. That won't help them though because if the Federation and friends have to interfere it is better the enemy you know (Dominion) than the enemy you don't know (Borg). Now Dominion Ships: Dominion Battleship 10/0, Battle Cruiser 9/10, Heavy 5/10 and Jem Hadar frigate 3/10. The Jem Hadar would be like the Cylons just start bayoneting all the Borg once they adapt to the phaser weapons.
Armada 2 is an excellent game to play. Although it should have more sci fi mods like BSG Classic or Stargate. That ship is a Borg Fusion Cube that is why so many Jem Hadar Battleships and Battle Cruisers took so long to take it out. The Dominion should be strong enough to defeat the Borg if they ever wage war. The Dominion has several advantages: the Borg don't assimilate clones, founders cannot be assimilated, hand to hand combat and the ace in the hole the Federation and her allies.
@JuliannaluJ the borg are always a bit overpowered they`re a pain in the ass to fight unless you use a setting on your weapons they haven`t adapted to yet and use a device to scramble its singnatr so they can`t get a reading on it and you can then woop their ass but the domimon wouldn`t have stood the slightest of a chance if the borg were to attack. They wouldn`t be able to hit the bronze side of a barn if the were less then 3ft away from the barn but i bet you already know this :)
It's not quite that easy. Weaponry for the dominion is different. Even federation weaponry would be more advanced by the time the Borg meet the Dominion.
@JuliannaluJ For all intends and purpose, that's how they should be. Buttkicking the hell out of everyone. Remember that it was one Borg Cube that destroyed the fleet of Wolf 359 (that were 40 vessels. By ONE cube)
As long as the game inhibits mass spawning of Borg vessels (like 3 cubes at once) it should make it a fair challenge.
@JuliannaluJ They were overpowered in the original too. Resource converter, technology assimilator, tactical cubes, fusion cubes, tactical fusion cubes, transwarp portals... they had all of the best stuff

The Founder (and I think the most changelings) can NOT be assimilated due to their lack of a bloodstream.
Without a bloodcells to infiltrate for the nanoprobes, it´s a go-nowhere job...
