  • Definition of a badass... and in the wet! Sir Jackie you dog haha

  • I love the sound in the tunnel

  • audio...just doesn't seem right????

  • Awesome, thanks for the upload!

  • Strange not seeing Loews hotel thought it was built years before 1971 but that does explain why the tunnel is much shorter. Also le' rasscasse, which i think now is called the grand prix restaurant, there just seems to be a hairpin again i thought the rest. was much older.

  • definitely not ......A great great day for a motor car race...

  • No paddle shifters, no traction control, granted 300 less HP but more exciting races consistantly.

  • Woah. You realise just much HAS changed, at Monaco. a lot less buildings, especially from Mirabeau to Rasscasse.

  • Top 3 imho

  • I was born in 71. He was my fav driver from my youth. Loved it when he did the color comm at Indy (still remember his "thunder rain" call)

  • mr stewart still the govnor with out him F1 would still be killing drivers by the dozen..

  • C'mon guys the video is great, but the sounds are not instead of the real car racing at that moment...

  • AMAZIng...wish i was born much much earlier to have seen all this live....dammit why? lol

  • Yes it'a a Tyrrell 001.

  • are yu sure this is 1971, it looks a little older

  • Yes, 1971. That was the year of that particular Tyrrell. Can't remember which exact model it was but in 1970 Tyrrell was actually using a March chassis. This is the first actual Tyrrell chassis. The track looks a lot older because relatively little work had been done on it until 1973 (I think) when they added the swimming pool section.

  • i just cant imagine what it was like for the drivers at this time driving in those conditions, really have to take your hat off to them.

JS easily in the top ten of the greatest f1 drivers, where in that top ten he comes i have no idea lol but hes up there

  • @f1diva Jackie comes in at no5..in most of the magazine polls that have been done in the last 10 years friend...

  • my point exactly...

  • @f1diva i agree well in the top five class act.

  • @littlecannon It's not just his driving and racing achievements, he is one of, if not the best ambassadors for the sport. Safety standards would not have developed as fast without him. A great commentator also, the definition of a living legend

  • @f1diva I would say he's in the top 5

  • omg that tunnel looks extremely dangerous as there are not lights in it...

  • he dont say a word...

  • How funny Monaco looked at that time... Plenty of space for new buildings :-) And that ridiculous tunnel... Today, there is not a single sqaure meter of natual surface there.

Even in the Loews curve there is just nothing, no hotel etc.

  • did anyone else want to throw the fucking front passenger out of the car? or throw the camera man out and pass the camera to the front passenger? i like how jackie pointed out the man hole cover as a breaking point. very cool

  • What a beautiful car this was..

  • Monaco looks so different to this now. Jackie is a great driver!

  • You can tell the car's got no downforce at all.

  • My, my, did the great sir Jackie select the wrong gear at 0.32?

  • No, just shifted down, imo.

  • Yeah, and braked considerably, I think.

What a style. You can tell this man is not going to overcook it on any bit of track that isn't absolutely crucial for a good lap time. Ever.

  • grande Jackie

  • I love that. It shows, also, just how precise you have to be if you're a racing driver. I love it

  • brave! very fast for wet conditions

  • Nice video!

  • Great!
