Seems to me,the amounts are quite similar here and in your country as I counted.1 bushel wheat is around 27 kg, isn't it?What's the weather like now,do you work something or it's rest-time?
We are seeing wheat as high as 29 kg on some of the harvest. It is -32 C this morning and about a 30-35 cm of snow on the ground. Spring planting does not start till first part of May, so it is time to market grain etc. I work in at another job out in the oil and gas industry up in this part of northern alberta
@finland345 good god that is really cold wearher. We've had -20C for a few days and had 2 feet high snow, but didn't last too long, all gone by now.We seed canola 1-10 Sept and wheat 10-20 Oct,we seed canola for 76 cm and do hoeing on it with a guided hoe,so we don't need to use weedkillers.
Every year is different.Mostly depends on the weather.Say in 2009 we had quite a lot of rain, the amount of product was quite good.We had 5.5t/ha wheat which is pretty good in our area, the price was around 90euros/t,but we had had better. If I'm right canola=rapes, the average amount of rapes is around 3-4t/ha and the price is around 250euros/t.Anyway the dealers always mess with the prices unfortunatelly.
Canola (rapeseed) prices are presnetly in the range same range at the $250 euroes give or take 10-20 euros. Wheat depending on the grade is from $90 to $125 eouros depending on grade. Canola yields here are from the 25-50 bushels acres and as high as 65 bushels depending on the rains. Wheat will yield from 35-90 bushels a acre adepending on the type.
Main crops are wheat canola roatation, with oats as another option for roatation when the markets are good. Run all Casih machinery, 9350 tractor, 40 feet concord air seeder all zero till for the crops. What are one looking at price of land in that part of the country.
Yes in your country that is lots per ha. Land around here is selling in around here for around $500 to $850 CDN per acre depending on location and land type. That is for land that is fully open. Bush land with up to 80 acres open sells for less.
