I have worked for the Postal unservice for over 30 years....for the first 15, it wasn't bad.They let you do your job and that was it. Then automation came in and totally screwed up the works. It saves some money....but it ends up in managements pockets ( bonuses for harrassing the carriers, etc). But now, we are nothing but pack mules that have no rights, but to do whatever mgmt. wants. If you get hurt, it's always YOUR fault. Good luck finding a lawyer to fight for you. Try working here! LOL!!!

You should try working at an L&DC with all the HEAVY flat rate boxes that land in sacks that you need to pick up, sinch and lift into a BMC! Lots of bending, squatting, twisting, lifting and finger movement on the sacks with straps.

So true! I was a mail carrier for 20 years & have been threatened for trying to file a workmens comp claim! One time I almost passed out from heat exhaustion on a day I was on the street of my route. I called my supervisor to tell him this. The postmaster told me he would write me up for being unsafe! I was being safe by calling my supervisor reporting to him that I was suffering from heat exhaustion rather than passing out while delivering mail which would have been unsafe.

I'm a postal worker. Supervisors routinely waterboard me and stick bare electrical wires in my sides while I sream in pain. They like the screaming, I think. But then the let me work overtime and I gets mo' money. It's a tough job, but if you can put up with he torture, it's ok I guess. But the one thing that really sucks is the verbal abuse. They call me names. I mean I can take a little physical torture, but calling me names really hurts.
