I spent 22 years in the military. Freedom is worth defending at all costs. Even the freedom to disagree and complain. It is a wonderful video and song is great. I lost my brother and his SSD Partner (K9) who were assigned to detect IEDs. He was trying to disarm one, when it predenonated. After that, I've lost 6 friends over the years now. It feels like apart of me is wretched away without my brother here, he was always my hero, rescuer, friend. Thank you for the video tribute

From a Service member in the army, I wouldn't be able to do this job if it wasn't for the love and support that my wife gives me. People sometimes don't understand or relize, that it's the spouses that make everything go as it should so we can can do our jobs. With out my wife I couldn't do what I do.

My husband was killed in Vietnam in 1969. He had just turned 21 and I was 20. We had only been married 5 months when he got drafted. It messed me up emotionally so bad that I have not been able to function for the last 40 years. So, in a way, two lives were lost. I WANT PEOPLE TO "NEVER FORGET" ANY OF OUR SOLDIERS THAT SERVED OUR COUNTRY!!!!!!! Sometimes remember the families left behind. THANK YOU

Even at 10 I knew it was wrong, that most of these boys had been drafted by our government to serve. Might have been a bit easier for you had your husband been treated like the hero he is when he returned home. If you'd had the emotional support of our country maybe you could have healed better. He isn't forgotten just ask any Vietnam vet.

I'm a retired Naval Submariner Sailor was in two wars -- Now I have not one but Three sons in the service two in the Army and one in the Navy. I am very proud of one of them, just as I am of all of our troops. I wish a fast and safe home coming for all of them GOD BLESS ALL OF OUR TROOPS - AND REMEMBER FREEDOM ISN'T FREE. This amazing video made me cry. I am (hopefully) going to be joining the National Guard in a couple of years and my boyfriend is in the Army. I am proud of him and I will be proud to be a soldier serving the United States of America. It is hard even now to think of the soldiers that have died because I have seen what it does to my bf, he breaks down into tears and cries sometimes when he thinks of his fellow brothers and sister who die every day, when he is still at home.

I'm joing the military soon and luckily i have no girlfriend i have to worry about but i do have my mom, dad, sisters, and other family that love and care about me and hopefully i wont come back in a casket so they wont have to endure this kind of pain.

Were so thankfull he got back safelly and I am proud to say i want to be like him and fight by his side so if anyone of yall have a family member in a war let us pray he or she gets back home safelly. Bragg and we are going to afghanistan july/august...he's going for 6 months and I'm going for a year...It's going to break both of our hearts when he has to leave me behind, but I know he can't do anything about it and I will be safe. my dad is on his 3rd deployment & he's in the army, my cousin just recently married into the army, two of my friends just joined the marines, alot of my friends from east rowan are either in the military now or are dateing/married to someone in the military, & all the males in my family except my uncle have been in the military. and @duncan7599 shut your damn mouth! the last thing we need is an asshole who is dissing are soldiers i have known people who lost their lives defending this country.

It is a wonderful video and song is great. I lost my brother and his SSD Partner (K9) who were assigned to detect IEDs. He was trying to disarm one, when it predenonated. After that, I've lost 6 friends over the years now. It feels like apart of me is wretched away without my brother here, he was always my hero, rescuer, friend. Thank you for the video tribute

From a Service member in the army, I wouldn't be able to do this job if it wasn't for the love and support that my wife gives me. People sometimes don't understand or relize, that it's the spouses that make everything go as it should so we can can do our jobs. With out my wife I couldn't do what I do.

My husband was killed in Vietnam in 1969. He had just turned 21 and I was 20. We had only been married 5 months when he got drafted. It messed me up emotionally so bad that I have not been able to function for the last 40 years. So, in a way, two lives were lost. I WANT PEOPLE TO "NEVER FORGET" ANY OF OUR SOLDIERS THAT SERVED OUR COUNTRY!!!!!!! Sometimes remember the families left behind. THANK YOU

@HURSTNURS1 I am so sorry for your loss. Growing up during the early and mid 60's I found something horrible about the way soldiers were received at home. Even at 10 I knew it was wrong, that most of these boys had been drafted by our government to serve. Might have been a bit easier for you had your husband been treated like the hero he is when he returned home. If you'd had the emotional support of our country maybe you could have healed better. He isn't forgotten just ask any Vietnam vet.

I'm a retired Naval Submariner Sailor was in two wars -- Now I have not one but Three sons in the service two in the Army and one in the Navy. I am very proud of one of them, just as I am of all of our troops. I wish a fast and safe home coming for all of them GOD BLESS ALL OF OUR TROOPS - AND REMEMBER FREEDOM ISN'T FREE. I think Carrie Underwoods heart was in the right place with this song - I thank her for her suport of our troops.

This amazing video made me cry. I am (hopefully) going to be joining the National Guard in a couple of years and my boyfriend is in the Army. I am proud of him and I will be proud to be a soldier serving the United States of America. It is hard even now to think of the soldiers that have died because I have seen what it does to my bf, he breaks down into tears and cries sometimes when he thinks of his fellow brothers and sister who die every day, when he is still at home.

i too wanted to add something.... i too am an american soldier as well as married to a marine.... so for us dealing with deployments either leaving loved ones or loved one leaving us we take a great deal or pride in it.... and my father also fought in desert strom, i know what he did and it was to protect his family and friends and he was called to duty so if that means taking lives for a cause then HELL YES, I AM PROUD

I'm joing the military soon and luckily i have no girlfriend i have to worry about but i do have my mom, dad, sisters, and other family that love and care about me and hopefully i wont come back in a casket so they wont have to endure this kind of pain.

No one truely understands the sacrifice that's made by our military members and the pain the spouses have to go through. I'm a Navy wife and let me tell you unless you're married in the service or grew up within a military family, you have no right to spout off any BS!! Remember who fights for your freedom, the ability for you to sleep at night, and do everything that you do everyday!

I believe that everyone deserves freedom of speech, my cousins have been over to afghanistan a few times. I think that no one should say anything bad about soilders they are protecting their country and this is coming from some who hates the idea of killing people but they are there and they are putting their lives on the line for people they don't even know, so I agree don't dis them. If they weren't you might not be here today or our living conditions could be completely different.

@chiefspackers We soldiers joined the military for you, the common civilian, and to better ourselves, and to be at a higher level than most of society. Whether we agree or disagree with the war(s) that are going on, we must do what we are ordered to do; regardless, we all joined to support our freedoms, and protect our families. All I have to say is "You're welcome" and continue utilizing your freedoms, but just keep in mind the sacrifices that have come with those freedoms.

I love the song even thought it is sad i would cry when i listened to this song when my uncle was away fighting in Iraq. It was a nightmare but my family and I. Were so thankfull he got back safelly and I am proud to say i want to be like him and fight by his side so if anyone of yall have a family member in a war let us pray he or she gets back home safelly. Thank you Lord for protecting the other soldiers and my uncle, thank you Lord.

This song makes me feel so sad. I hope this doesn't happen to me. My bf is going to Afghanistan. He almost died in Iraq. We both want to have a future together. He is also my best friend. I will be supportive while he's away. I want to stay positive and think about us having a future together but I'm so worried for him. I hope to God that he comes home safe.

I remember when my sisters fiance was drafted actually ON theyre wedding day he was shipped to Iraq and then the next year he was killed on her birthday her 19 bday shes still messed up about it

Hey bud you should be proud of your old man. My dad and I are both on Ft. Bragg and we are going to afghanistan july/august...he's going for 6 months and I'm going for a year...It's going to break both of our hearts when he has to leave me behind, but I know he can't do anything about it and I will be safe. I have a lovely fiancee waiting for me and a supporting family, I have everything to live for, thank you for this video tribute...You are one of the few who still gives respect to soldiers.
