@2theothers2 The advanced version of Ozone 5 has very sophisticated algorithms and great features. But a studied mastering engineer will always take your music to a level that no plugin on its own can achieve. Mastering techniques with hardware modules can do very different things to a track than software plugins. However, Ozone 5 is great for freshing up your music and adding that specialty to it that many tracks don't have!
If it isn't broke, don't fix it, just lower the input. Transient recovery is for getting the most out of the limiter. Little changes too mate, not those gigantic ones you seem to be making. Your in the production software. Get it as correct as you can there before mastering. You need to select brick wall from the drop down to get a complete brick wall limit. Kudos for showing people though. You do say its a quick sample master so people shouldn't really bitch. I just meant to show some flaws
@GroffiProductions If you look at the input level in izotope you see it is still clipping.. (in red) but if you lower the output it means the input signal still is distorted.. a.k.a. brickwalled
@MrDemilord You see, and that's where Izotope invented these nice intelligent IRC algorithms. According to Izotope, the input signal is not brickwalled (that would be "hard" in Ozone). For the purpose of this video, the input signal (of the drums mainly) is too high so I could give you a demo of how the algorithm works.
@Eclipse706 I guess that depends on the purpose of your soundfile. If you want to publish you beat on the Internet, then you might use the .mp3 format to have a smaller file than e.g. .wav. But if you want to record vocals as an additional stem over your beat, it might be beneficial for your song to use mastering techniques in the end when every stem is ready to be mastered.
Can this work as a VST for Pro Tools SE, Audacity, as well as FL studio? I have recording programs but I need something just like this for EQ, Compressor, Dynamics, etc
@GroffiProductions Okay, and for us new to this, like...stupid new, where are some good how to's? I have no idea how to use any of this but want to learn, mainly vocal processing.
@neg4tivelight I guess the amount of delay you get depends on the power of your system. Trying the demo should give you the most accurate answers... It also depends on the modules you use withing Ozone. Overall, I have lower latency with Ozone 5 than with Ozone 4.
I didnt see you hit bypass a single time in that video.
chriswickens 3 days ago
@chriswickens that's right... my bad. but you could take a listen at 0:24 to 0:40 - that part is on bypass...

Ozone5 is nice but you have no idea! Why do you use an equalizer for sums of treble when all the audio tracks are available individually?^^

Now this is what I call a GOOOD tutorial. Nice beat as well

How vital or powerful is this vst? Does it skip the need of a mastering engineer, at least, in the right hands?

would this work for vocals or what?

@THASICKBOYzENT Yes. Though if your concentration is mainly vocals you may find izotope nectar more useful.

nfarnham2008 2 months ago
@nfarnham2008 Ozone 5 works in any DAW that can load VST plugins. There is a 32-/64-bit version available so that shouldn't be a problem either.
