Chapter 1 deals with Malcolm and Dr. King in culture. They are looked as cultural figures and heroes. Chapter 2 was written by Dr. Al-Hadid and deals with Malcolm X and Sunni Islam. Dr. Baldwin wrote chapter 3 and discusses the spiritual pilgrimages of both men, from childhood up until their deaths, focusing on their theologies as well as Malcolms ideas about Christianity and Dr. Kings ideas about Islam.

This video dicussses chapters three through nine of the book Dr. Baldwin and Dr. Aal-Hadid have written together. Chapter three dicussess Malcolm X and Martin Luther King Jr. in spiritual references. Chapter four dealing with manhood and family between the two men and their views on the community. The book was designed to show the similarities between these to leaders.
