full circle. suede were heavily influenced by the smiths then morrisey covers them. if butler ever meets morrisey he can say Vader style "now I AM the master!"
always wanted to hear the moz sing "we s$^t paracetamol"! Brett claims he met morrissey and that he was "painfully boring". But morrissey denies ever meeting him. Per Britpop
this is great! never heard this before, but i've always liked this song&i'm a massive fan of Morrissey. Good to hear this, thanks! I've always thought that was a great picture too :)
@truefaith00 Morrissey's vocals alone are the forgiving basis for me still listening to this. Yes the guitar work on here is downright treacherous compared to Butler's work. He was the Johnny Marr of his day. He can't be out done.
Wow! This was truly surprising cover. And sounds pretty good! He got a tons of classic songs and he decided to sing My Insatiable One - that's just fantastic! I bet Brett was flattered to be covered by Him.
oh my goodness - i never knew this existed - makes sense tho - that mozzer would like the lyrics of it.

I love Morrissey but the original is way better

Moz does well here but the guitaring sounds like a karaoke free for all. Mind you, they've both more than made up for it in songwriting/playing.

Morrissey's vocals are far better than the original singer!!!!

Oh my lord - just when one thinks he has heard everything from Morrissey, one realises one is wrong!

Brett and Benard must have cried tears of joy when they heard The Holy Moz Almighty was gonna cover a song of theirs....

It doesn't matter. The fact that Morrissey sings it like this is pretty bloomin good in my eyes.
I wish this was video.

Quite a compliment from Morrisey to Suede considering The Smiths were a huge influence on Suede.

Morrissey was in Switzerland in 1992? I cannot believe it! The Moz was in Switzerland in his 'Rockabilly'-years! Do you know which city?

i saw Morrissey that year in San Diego.. October 31.. It was the greatest show.. tour ever..

Not as good as the original. Alain and Boz simply can't duplicate Butler's guitar.
truefaith00 2 years ago 33
Yes & NONE including Butler can duplicate or match Johnny Marrs~
sowhatdude1 2 years ago 3
haha ..thats true.. but bernards has his own style..that puts him on the same level as Marr and Squire.. each with thier own special sound.

I'm reading the Suede bio by now - and it's mentioned that Morrissey has covered them - I just love both versions soooo much
