That shit would be scary knowing if you stalled out or accidentally released the accelerator your precious sled would sink to the bottom of the river.
@skaterboy677 If he stops, the sled will sink. Of course, he wisely decided to do this on a part of the lake that only gets about 6 feet deep. So if it sinks, he could "go down with it" and stand on it on the bottom.
I love this video. awesome song (the pixies ftw) and good editing! plus this is the longest distance ive seen covered in a skip video before, you went a long ass way dude!
they are cooled by snow passing through heat exchangers (sorta like rads under the tunnel of the sled). The track forces snow through as is spins around. Cool lake water is good enough for sleds as long as they're not fan cooled.
i thought aircooled sleds were cooled by a fan blowing air over the motor but in that temp it dont help much(no cold air)and liquid cooled is actually antifreeze circulating around your motor and cold air passing through the radiator.
That was an amazing video. I love the artistic choices like the bit on the couch. Nice skills on the sled. I agree that the music was an excellent choice. All around, quite awe inspiring. Don't think I'll go do it anytime soon, but very nicely done!
yep....It is stock. Nothing special about it accept its made by Polaris. And Polarsi understands that if you snowmobile on a regular basis, you will encounter water. So they design there sleds to hanle it.
this video is awesome, thanks for sharing it

corkster8888888888 3 years ago
what kind is it how many cc? and does it actually matter if its polaris?
bwelsh321 3 years ago
1998 XC700 I know Yamahas will sink as soon as they hit water. Yamahas are fast but thats it. Polaris is all around a good sled
corkster8888888888 3 years ago
do u just keep every thing the same as when u ride in the winter? have u ever sunk?
bwelsh321 3 years ago
