7 seconds? Wow.. much slower then I thought, funny how these low torque cars have a traction control..LMFAO Thats like putting traction control in a Subaru 360..makes no sense.
@PantstofryPWNZ I know nothing about traction! I mean my vettes, my AMG, The lotus or the NSX.. They all had traction but I just never understood such a scientific logic! Yes, dill hole I know traction. I was just saying this car doesnt make enough torque to even care.. but then i thought oh wait rain it could loose traction. hmm, still crap.
@LordKylik LOL your vettes, amg, lotus, and NSX. aint you a rich little guy.
Hmm, no, this car doesn't have torque. Oh wait, but it revs to 9500rpm. So yeah, you can break traction quite well. It doesn't have a lot of torque but it still needs it. Plus driving it in snow you'll need it for people who don't know how to drive. Although I'd shut it off
@PantstofryPWNZ Lol, no not rich, just make good profits off the cars I had, I sell and flip em.. Nah, I was just joking about this car tho. It is interesting to see how serious everyone takes things. I was considering on getting an RX8 as a DD, I decided not to mainly for the sheer fact that I got the CLK55 AMG for 11 grand with only 50K miles on it. So it was a no brainier.
@PantstofryPWNZ Well, the 2 cars i own right now are a 3000GT VR-4 and the CLK AMG. My VR4 is mainly in the shop, and the AMG gets around 22 mpg in the city.. So it isn't all that bad, my VR4 gets about 12.. I watch the gas gauge dip, and when I am in boost, that is just horrid....
@LordKylik I find it extremely hard to believe you get 22 in the city in an AMG, when the highway figure is at 22. A V8 in the city getting 22mpg? please, i'll buy it off of you.
@PantstofryPWNZ When your easy on the car, you get great gas.. I don't "truly" live in a city.. the lowest speed in my aera is 45 and highest is 55. I live mostly by state roads, so it helps, hell My vettes got great gas mileage. Lol, just go to my page and watch a few of my vids.. you will see what my aera is like... I can speed all over the place no big deal.
@LordKylik Dude, a 45 mph speed limit as the lowest is practically highway. Try actually living in the city, where the speed limit is 25. I dunno what city has a 45 mph speed limit to be honest...
@PantstofryPWNZ Well, basically you are correct. Well, I never drive directly into the heart of the city where the speed limit is 20, 25 and 30. I live pretty far from those speeds, and I live right off an express way which is 70. I never calculated my mpg on the express mainly for the fact i rarely go on it, unless i want a high speed run.

@LordKylik Well this is how I see it. City is like, the inner city, low speeds, constant stopping. Combined is like the suburbs, some low speeds, some high, and stopping. Highway is limited stopping expressway travel.
I had an RX-8 years ago. Really nice car, but yeah..power is lacking. 0-60 was probably 6.5-7 seconds average, which most v6 suvs can do now. Where it REALLY shines is handling. It can put 99% of cars on the road to shame with its handling. They just need to bump up the torque by about 150 and manage to squeeze 4-5 more mpg out of it and it would have been perfect.
i think im finally starting to like the rx8s... they just make sense to me now, used to think they looked like toys, now i think they look real sharp. real nice interior. one of a kind engine. good power for the size engine. rwd. i get it now. nice ride!
@edoloman24 ok brain, that car is make to accelerate to 9. no problen even in 10, you need to learn about the manual transmitions, ITS NOT a mom automatic, pussy!
@im6214 r u stupid. you need to learn about manual, while the clutch was down he revved it to 7 which hurt the clutch. when you are not on the clutch it is fine to go to 9.
I thought that wasn't bad at all. I don't see why people bash this car - Rated at around 5.8 seconds on a 0-60 MPH run (5.8-6.3 is what I have known people getting).
Not bad considering under the hood is a 1.3 L that weights less than 250 pounds :p
I timed it to 5.96 call it 6. Magazines tested it between 5.9 and 6.6 so that seems about right. I agree with the rpm you dropped it at. It would have bogged below 6000rpm if you went for less wheel spin. The magazines that timed 6.6 as the RX8's 0-60 undoubtedly didn't adjust.
@JJJCHEVY Some people have been able to get as low as 5.6 seconds on a stock engine. All depends on the driver really... I have got as low as 5.8, but when it gets down to those fractions of a second it can be hard to tell
Love my rx8 love the launch man
